Scheduled a 9am appointment for a battery replacement. Arrived on time and sat in the store waiting for over 2 1/2 hours. I’ll never come here again. If there was a lower rating than a 1 star I’d hit that button

I had an excellent experience at the Pep Boys Orange location. The service manager, Valerie Jilgeous is very knowledgeable and extremely helpful throughout my visit. She clearly explained everything and even recommended I replace my battery since it was charging below expectation. The work on my vehicle was completed on time as promised. I truly appreciated her professionalism and guidance. Great service overall!

I went to them for a flat tire and they said didn't find anything. They added air and put water on it. Now my tire is back to flat again. They are not good at diagnosing tires.

Would never go to this location again was told that i would have to change all 4 tires because my back tires were different then the front not only that I was told I had to go to another store to get the tires. What’s the sense of going to pep boys which is an auto service facility that provides tires. Never in 36 years on earth did I hear I can’t take out one tire because they are different from the others if the tire size is the same what difference does it make . I went to Mavis mom and pop shops and Firestone never was told non sense like that. Not only that a young lady in front of me was talking to the guy and basically got work done on the car and the problem was never fixed.

My second visit to this location. They did what was requested. I went two days in a row around the same time and experienced 2 different individuals, so I'm not sure if that adds to the inefficiency of time? Without the call after the diagnosis was completed, I would not have gotten a sufficient explanation of findings from the person that was there when I picked up.

Arrived early and was promptly checked in. Was told my car would be ready in about two hours and would be texted when ready. Eventually they did.

Avoid this shop for any mechanical repairs. I brought my car in due to a coolant leak, and it stayed in the shop for four days. I was told the issue had been fixed, and was charged an unreasonably high price. However, the moment I drove the car, the exact same issue occurred. I returned the vehicle, and it remained in the shop for another three days. When I asked for an explanation, I was told it was “just the hose” — the same problem they supposedly repaired the first time. To make matters worse, when I finally got my car back, the coolant wasn’t even filled to the minimum level. This shows a complete lack of attention to detail and raises serious concerns about the quality of their work. Unprofessional, overpriced, and unreliable. I would strongly advise against bringing your vehicle here for any mechanical issues.

I have been to this location over three times. I’ve gone to do something as simple as change a taillight to changing breaks. I even bought tires from here, caught a really good deal. Henry and the crew are phenomenal l! They are super knowledgeable, professional and accommodating. Car maintenance can be daunting for many people, even my self but at this Pepboys location it’s a breeze. They will always be on my go to list for all my automotive needs!

I came into this pep Boys in August to get 4 Brand New tires put on my car , waited for hours then finally was told that my car was ready, went outside and drove my car a good two blocks when my left front tire cave in the car slid smelt rubber burning and the lug nuts was in the middle of the street, pep boys had to come and jack my car up to get it off the ground and they sent a claims examiner to my house to asses the damage. He let me choose the machanic shop I wanted my car to go to . I did but first pep boys has to replace the tire on the front drivers side and they have yet to pick up my car . The manager there she keeps trying to get me to do her job , she says to me to call pep boys and set up a time for a tow truck to come and pick up my car . I’m not doing this you are pep boys so you should be able to get them out here faster. I would never go back to this store in orange nj on Scotland Rd they are the worse and keeps passing the buck and not doing anything to get my car fixed I’m sick and tired of them , I wouldn’t recommend this pep boys to my dog , very unprofessional

I stopped at this location after having a flat tire, thinking I could get help in what I considered an emergency. Unfortunately, my experience with Valerie was extremely disappointing. She was rude and dismissive instead of offering guidance or even basic courtesy. I ended up taking my business elsewhere. Customer service should be about helping people, especially in stressful situations, not making them feel unwelcome.

Left my trunk in complete disarray after they changed my spare tire. They broke gift boxes I had in my trunk due to tossing shit around and they didn’t place the spare tire back correctly.

Got an oil change done. They suggested a serpentine belt was starting to crack & some other services i inspect it afterward. Not a single crack...straight up lied... Make sure you watch them work & physically inspect the parts & services yourself

Worse location and customer service. The website allowed me to schedule an appointment for 5:30, I arrived at 4:52 to be told that they weren’t taking anymore cars because they were “busy”. I literally drove 45 mins to get here. To make matters worse, all 3 employees were just sitting around, no other cars were being worked on. Very disappointing

I arrived at Pep Boys around 8:45 for a 9:00 appointment. I advised the customer care rep who checked me in that my Daytime running, interior, and Tail lights are not working. Told her the warranty company said to run a diagnostic and find out what the issues may be. Waited until 2:30 to give them a call because no one had given me an update thus far. Long story short, the warranty was not covered. She then told me I needed the entire assembly of lights for the driver and passenger side, and quoted me an estimate of 1900 dollars. I then brought my vehicle home purchased a fuse tester and box of assorted fuses lift the hood of the car tested all the fuses in that box and they were fine went inside my vehicle and tested and located a #10 regular fuse that was burnt which control the light i advise was out, popped in a new regular #10 fuse i purchased Now ALL my lights are working and the inside indicator light reset as well. I wasted an entire day.

Service was done in a timely manner and before scheduled time. Had a complete Tune-up and oil change because of check engine light was on. Still noticing the light, but car performance is excellent. Will call to see if something else is the reason.

I went to this PepBoys at 6:50 because I had something stuck in my tire and was looking for help because I knew it would flatten my tire. I was super apologetic about coming in 10 minutes before they closed but I just needed them to plug it. They told me turned their compressors off and refused to help me even though they close at 7. Needless to say, it a few moments fell out and my tire went flat because they wouldn’t try to just plug a tire.

I had a horrible experience here. Brought my car in to get a tire patched. Guy at the desk comes out and tells me yes the tire is patchable, we will take it off the rim and then rebalance it. I then watch through the window as he and another worker procede to plug the the tire. I confronted them and they played dumb and said the tire is not patchable and the Pep Boys policy is they cannot patch a tire older then 5 years. They were absolutely planning on charging me has I not been paying attention. I took a video of them plugging and not patching the tire.

I was here a few days ago, and the experience was terrible. The staff showed no care for customers or our time. The lady at the counter was dismissive and even tried to charge me $50 just for a repair quote—absolutely ridiculous. It felt like they were too busy and just didn’t want the job. I walked out and won’t be coming back.

The service advisor that checked me in had lovely customer service. But my overall experience was not good. I had an appointment for an oil change and asked that they replace my rear wiper blade. After about an hour and a half, my car was driven to the front. I saw someone trying to replace the wiper blade. It then was driven back to the garage. I waited another hour and a half. Finally, I asked if the only issue was the wiper blade because I would just install it myself. The second advisor told me the wiper blade had to be ordered. I explained that I would have appreciated that being communicated to me because I would have told them I did not want to wait and not to order it. He then told me the mount needed to be taken off to install the new blade and that was why there was extra unexpected time spent on it. That did not make sense because you don’t need to replace the entire wiper to replace the blade. When I got my car back and drove to my next errand, I used the rear blade and it had been installed upside down so the blade was wiping my rear door instead of the rear window. I drove the car back to Pep Boys to ask them to fix it. After taking the car to the garage, the advisor explained that the screw had been broken while taking the wiper off again to fix it and they needed a new piece ordered. So after all of that, it was not fixed and I have to go back again to get this resolved.

DONT COME HERE. THIS IS THE SLOWEST AUTOREPAIR SHOP IVE EVER BEEN TO. I brought my car here 8 am, the shop made no effort to contact me. I called them every 90 mins for an update and I was told they were running different test on the car. I'm not stupid it doesn't take hours to diagnose a car. I decided to try an independent shop around 12:30. This shop waisted 4 hours of my day. If I bring my car at 8am , I'm expecting a quote before 9:30

Valerie was excellent and knowledgeable but others not so much. After my tires were installed I asked about the alignment which is free service to be checked (not fixed) The first person told me there was nothing wrong with my alignment, which I suspected was incorrect. He eventually got the guy who put the tires on who told me the alignment was bad and when I asked to see the report, he told me that there was none. He just drove it and thought it was bad. I asked again about the free alignment check and he would not acknowledge that they had not done it and he was not going to do it. Finally, Valerie interceded and insisted that he do the free check. She then went over the results with me and I was able to address this problem. The only other issue I had was that the tires that I was replacing and had been put by them previously, We’re not available and I was not told this until I had been sitting waiting for the tires to be put on for three hours. This was even with an appointment.

I used to go to a different Pepboys (Verona) but after using the services here in Orange, I will never go back to that location. Here they do the job accurately and you’ll be sure they do it correctly. I have the utmost confidence in the mechanics at this location. Kudos to the entire team there. Even with the time they told me my car would be ready…guess what. It was ready.

The female employee have a bad attitude. Appears annoyed and curt to answer questions. The young man was very pleasant, helpful and took his time to answer all my questions. I like pep boys. Do not like the bad attitude from that woman employee. She make me feel uncomfortable. Being the young man made me feel like a valued customer, I give a four star rate.

I had to get a new battery. They were professional and have a clean environment. They are knowledgeable about their work. You can sit back and watch T.V. and wait for your baby. I like they are close to my house. Thanks again Pep Boys👍

I've had work done on my car by their main mechanic Etienne and I must say he is one of the best most trust worthy mechanic I have ever used. He is very knowledgeable and does not try to make your car problems be more then what they are. He is very thorough and a great trust worthy mechanic. A mechanic shop is only as good as their mechanic, so this Pep Boys is great!

I had a great experience with the mechanic E! He was honest with me and explained everything so I understood. They completed the job in a timely manner and the price was fair compared to other shops in the area. Would recommend anyone to go to this location. Definitely will be my new mechanic for future jobs. Well done Pep Boys and E you deserve a raise!

I’ve been saying for years that PepBoys is low key a great automotive service provider and they came through again. Got everything I needed done and they even made some recommendations that I overlooked myself. Was helped by Valerie at the front who took note of everything I needed done and the work order was completed in about 3 hours. Which is great considering I had several tasks that needed to be completed. Great service. Reasonable pricing. Really happy I took my Benz here. For those who want to know what was done: I have a Mercedes C350 - they changed a headlamp that was out, oil change, power steering was flushed, cabin and air filters were all changed. Will definitely be back here for any future service. Thanks guys!
