Very easy and neat area to recycle/dump garbage. There are signs in which dump trailer goes what. Luke is very welcoming and informative dude who will help you if you have any questions, they have events too in which period you can dump other items, ask him about it
Fair Lawn residents can drop off metal, paper, cardboard, electronics, and yard waste for recycling. They also take new toys and clothes for donation. Ask for free yard waste bags and bring some bins for compost (budget some time to sort for rocks/pebbles if applying to your lawn). They may ask for ID so come prepared.
Terrible place. As soon as you get in the guy comes out and starts asking suspicious questions as if you are a criminal even after showing ID. He was drunk or something. Just want to recycle paper man like leave me alone. Was not able to recycle because according to him I did not live in fair lawn but my ID said otherwise.
For the naysayers out there try another town and see the difference ! FL makes it very easy to come and go with virtually anything you want to get rid of. And don’t forget the free chips and mulch that you can take home yourself!
Horrible operations. Their rules say cans can go in the commingle and recycling standards say that spray cans can be recycled, their rules don't prohibit spray cans yet they will leave all your recycling on the street if you have 1 spray can. They won't even tell you why they didn't pick it up. Horrible service. Unclear rules. Their phone line is even crappy, keeps cutting out. Overall, horrible customer service. I wish I could leave zero stars.
The best center - you can bring anything there and they have specific spots for it, clearly labeled. Even clothes and electronics. The guys who work there will help you if something is heavy! Fair Lawn is great!
PS they ARE open weekends, Both Sunday and Saturday.
