I went here to get a car battery. I don't know the exact size, so I asked for help. When I asked customer service, they said I need to know the size myself, that isn't their job. Wow. Nobody offered or tried to help me. I left and I went to Home Depot and not only got help, but they had it cheaper.

Making deliveries in this location is always a challenge.
The people who work in the receiving department are always grumpy and seem like they don't like to work.

No sh-carts inside the store I had a heart surgery. The was a cart inside the store and employee was there he said that i could have the I said I'm taking the cart and we had a different finally he gave me the cart and I wanted shake his hand and he refused and I refused his cart .I left the store and went shopping to a different store. Very rude employee! They never learn. It's nice to be nice! A young man he has a long way to go. I'm 75 . I had employee in the past and I treated them very well.have a nice dayDec 26, 2025 -
Really back service. I spent half hour waiting for curbside and not body show up . Don't offer the service if you don't want to do it. I went to speak with customer service and the answer was that I have to go and speak with some of the guys...that is a joke

Tried to buy Pokémon packs yesterday.
They told me “limit 2 per customer.”
…but someone asked if I was Adam — the silver-haired guy who magically gets to clean the shelves with no limit.
So regular customers get two… but certain people get the whole shelf?

BJ’s East Rutherford is a convenient destination for bulk shopping, with a gas station and tire center on-site. The store offers great deals and variety, though some areas could use better cleaning and organization to enhance the overall shopping experience.

This BJ’s location is absolutely filthy — it’s one of the dirtiest I’ve ever been to. The floors, shelves, and even the restrooms look like they haven’t been cleaned properly in a long time. On top of that, the manager, Phil Gazzillo, talks down to his team in a very disrespectful way right in front of customers. It’s uncomfortable to watch and really unprofessional. This place needs serious attention and better management.

We came to checkout at 10:02pm, a black women with curly short hair came but didn’t scan, she stared at us, gave us an attitude, lectured us:’The store is closed. It’s like people who come late for work.’ Other staffs asked what’s going on, there were other customers, she then started scanning.
It was disrespectful and unnecessary, unprofessional staffs like another past experience here, when it was my first time here and I didn’t notice the exit is at the right, I went to the left, and the tall black guy who checked receipt asked me where I’m from and if I could read english.Sep 21, 2025 -

I have been coming here for a couple of years and although I'm satisfied with the merchandise, today I had a bad experience, I went to costumer service and as soon as they saw me, they turned around and started talking to each other pretending I wasn't there, a black tall man and a fat short hispanic woman. They never helped me i had to literally asked them to please help after standing there for a couple of minutes of them ignoring me and they did it with a bad attitude. Check the cameras. It happened today Friday August 29th at about 9:55pm.
Also, the lady's bathroom needs a new baby changing station. I have told the cashiers many times to mention it to a supervisor. My baby is no safe in that baby abd may fall to the floor and can lead to a lawsuit. Improve your services.

Poor management - I've been shopping at BJ's for about five years using my aunt’s membership and have never had an issue. However, on a recent visit around 9:20 PM, I came in to grab a few last-minute grocery items (a small $100 order). After spending roughly 30 minutes shopping, I was stopped at checkout by Moe Douglas, who identified himself as a supervisor. He informed me that because I was not the primary member on the account, I could not complete my purchase.
While I understand the policy, the way the situation was handled was disappointing. There was no signage or prior warning indicating that purchases cannot be made by non-members, which would have saved me the time and inconvenience. I asked if an exception could be made given the late hour and the small order, but Moe refused without any willingness to discuss alternatives. He briefly mentioned a potential surcharge for non-members but then insisted I leave without completing my purchase.
It’s frustrating to be turned away after years of giving business to a store, especially for something that could be easily solved with clearer communication or more flexible customer service. BJ's has now lost a loyal customer due to poor handling by someone in a supervisory role. Moe Douglas—if that is indeed your name—this could have been managed far more professionally.
BJ’s, please do better in training your staff and ensuring customers are treated with respect and common sense. A simple sign or proactive communication could prevent this from happening to others.Aug 28, 2025 -
Today at around 2pm in the afternoon I went to BJS 300 Route 17N in New Jersey. I went to get gas and there was a huge line of cars. When I got closer it was my turn. It turns out there was only one employee for that amount of cars. I waited for about an hour with my daughter in the 11-month car. It's unacceptable, considering I'm paying a membership fee. It seems unfair to me that only one man is serving that amount of cars.

I have been a loyal member of East Rutherford BJ’s for over 10 years and I have received great Customer Service over the years. Recently, I was assisted by Victoria in the Deli Department, who was helpful and understanding of my requests. A few days later, I returned and was looking for a cake at the last minute. Victoria was working the Bakery Department, she was approachable, stopped what she was doing and assisted me in my time of need. Always smiling and pleasant.

BJ’s Rutherford is my go to store! My job orders several times a month from this store. Especially for parties and Victoria in the deli and bakery always make sure ours orders are ready for pickup on time and made to perfection!!!!

So bad experience in bj’s tire center, I placed a order online, and when I arrived just one person was working there, changing tires, taking phone calls and doing appointments, he said he will taking longer time due he was alone, you know how unsafe I feel if he make a mistake changing my tires? Definitely be careful and think twice if you’re considering buy your tires here, I spoke to the manager and these lady is so rude, mentioned they have a couple appointments in the same time, definitely I’ll cancel my membership and go somewhere else

I had a very disappointing experience with BJ's recently. I placed an online order for pickup two days in advance, planning ahead to save time. When I arrived at the store at the scheduled time, I was informed that their online ordering system had experienced an outage and that orders couldn't be processed.
This was extremely frustrating as I wasted time traveling to the store and planning around this pickup. No advance notice was provided about the system issues, which could have saved me the trip. Better communication about technical problems and a backup system for existing orders would have prevented this inconvenience.May 07, 2025 -
I have been a loyal BJ customer for over 10 years. The Deli Dept really goes beyond Customer Service hospitality.
Damian in the Deli is an absolute doll. I'm picky with cold cuts and Damian really accommodates me everytime. Always pleasant.

I’ve done had it be bjs! I been that customer that goes to bjs for everything but I draw the line at there food expiring within 3 days to a month! I brought a 12 pound bag of flour just to find maggots at the top of the bag upon opening! I dumped the flour in a ziplock bag just to find just to find more maggots and bugs at the bottom of the bag of flour! BRAND NEW BAG

My experience buying alcohol in Beijing was quite disappointing. I purchased a 1.5-liter bottle of Bacardi, and upon opening it at home, I quickly realized it was a counterfeit product. The absence of a pour spout was the first giveaway, and the smell was far from the genuine Bacardi aroma. Instead, it resembled a strong, almost burning alcohol scent, akin to ethyl alcohol.
Frustrated by this subpar purchase, I decided to address the issue with the store's customer service and their supervisor. I politely requested that they examine their alcohol products for quality and authenticity. To my surprise, their response left much to be desired. They insisted that they were merely sellers and bore no responsibility for the product's quality. They even suggested I reach out to Bacardi, the company that produces the beverage, if I had concerns.
Thinking that the first incident might have been an unfortunate oversight, I gave the store another chance and purchased a bottle of Skyy vodka. Yet, my disappointment was compounded when I encountered the same issues - a peculiar smell and, once again, the absence of a pour spout.
This experience left me disheartened as a consumer, and I felt compelled to share my story to warn others about the potential risks associated with purchasing alcohol from this establishment. Avoid this BJ’S at all costs. Very short staff there are always long lines with the most slowest cashiers. Online orders also take a long time to deliver to your vehicle. To make matters worse, even their gas station is short staffed. You would think for being a big wholesale club it would be very well staffed but no. Avoid at all costs and go somewhere else.

I like this location. Very busy, even on a weekday morning, but I went through self checkout with ease. Staff was readily available when I needed help. I was greeted upon entering and waited only a few minutes to get my membership card at the customer service counter. Lots of sale items and name brand clothing. I got jeggings for $15 and a cute dress for $9. They also carry plus size. The store has a huge liquor section which I wasn't expecting. I probably wouldn't go on a weekend or holiday season because I don't like crazy crowds lol. But I had a pleasant first visit.

The opening customer service, we were there for 30 minutes or more, nobody attended us. We requested multiple times to assist us in getting the tv and the result was zero. Their front desk did overhead twice, the result was nothing, we asked for the manager, again results were zero. Check your cameras and see how you treated us.

We have been members since free years . And this center had been disappointing us for some time now they would say they have the specific stock and with the discount coupon. But everyone for last 4 months we visited and everything they didn’t have the stock but the stock name and price will be listed on a rack with different size of the products . An example is there in my photo uploaded . The tag says 18pack of 330 ml coconut water hit the stock under the tag is 6pack of 1 liter.
And to let u know weekends are pretty packed here and u have to stand on queue for an hour at least for checking out ur cart.Jun 13, 2021 -
Standing in the rain and the security guard said they are letting in 50 people at a time instead of a flow of 5 to 10 people based on when they get out. Been here an hour waiting for the 50 count to enter the store... wow unbelievable how we are just standing wrapped around the store and not properly managed to allow customers in at a time.
