Decided stop at the 2nd view lookout point, vantage view of George Washington Bridge, and BINGO!
Took a simple 1 mile hike with an eventual 450 ft decline to the Hundson, and small drift wood beach.
Lol didn't consider the 450 ft incline hike back up. A bit challenging, but easily doable.
Im definitely going back to explore more hiking trails alongside the water.
When you get to the paved road for vehicles and bicycles, watch out. A fast cyclist could cause a bad accident.
I felt perfectly safe being alone, but it was right after a rain 9am in the morning also.
Always keep your safety in mind, but enjoy.
Beautiful area. Great for hiking. My son and I both spotted a large mountain lion in the Alpine area at dusk. This was in the fall of 2006. We also spotted a large all black cat about 2-3 times the size of a house cat. This was at about 4 pm.

Took the Palisades road from NJ to Upstate NY during Fall Season! Stunning ??? It was so spectacular that I ll do the same this year. No pics since I was solo driving! ?
Breathtaking Views. A lot of birds. Boats and such an amazing outlook.. Def a nice trip driving up the Palisades parkway to here. Bathrooms. and plenty of benches
In the 1950's my friends & I walked across the G.W. Bridge to N.J.. where we actually climbed those stone steps. We called them the thousand steps.There was also a picnic area near the Hudson River shore line. Don't know what's there now but it brought back great memories.
