We are staying at Crescent Lake for a week. When we arrived, we realized that my daughter’s car had a flat tire. We found E & J via Google….we called Joe, and brought the tire over to him. After several attempts to patch it, Joe let me know that it was beyond repair. He got us a new tire, mounted it, and actually came to the house to install it on the car so that we wouldn’t worry about it falling off during the 1 hr and 45 min. I tried to pay him more for coming to us to install it…he wouldn’t take the money. Joe was kind, responsive, prompt and a pleasure to do business with. I highly recommend his shop and his work.

Do NOT go to E&J's auto in Lempster! They have some cars in a decent price range, that seem okay at first....but within days of purchase, those codes they cleared (for a sale) pop back up, and you will be left with a lemon. Junk cars, bought at auction for next to nothing, because they're too far gone for an actual dealership to sell used, cleaned up to look okay, codes cleared to appear okay, but anything but "okay" . Our $5,000 Subaru has cost us close to $15k after repairs . They duped us. And my folks. Same deal, a $7,000 Subaru that they've put another $10k in to just keep it safe and legal for the road! Put that $5k as a down payment for a safe certified used car from a dealership, that stands behind their cars. Don't waste your money there.

Very careful, safe, excellent mechanic, reasonably priced on labor and parts. Clean facility. Good turn around on repairs. I work as a travel nurse and a safe vehicle is a must. Will return for more excellent and safe future repairs.

I purchased a 2003 Toyota Camry from E &J Auto Sales one month ago. Three days after buying the vehicle I drove it to Portsmouth,NH. Halfway back to Newport the check engine light came on. I brought it back to Joe the next day. Joe was very polite and eager to help find the problem. Joe gave me some CATACLEAN and instructions on what to do. Joe said if the engine light came back on to bring the car back to him and he would help again. It's been a month and the engine light has stayed off. I'm happy with the vehicle and overall satisfied with the purchase I made from E & J Auto Sales. Thanks Joe! ?

Disclosure: This car came with a third party "warranty". Despite this I still feel that the immediacy that my car developed problems, me being out $4,000 and being basically without a car all this entire time without the warranty claim even been started I feel as though this review is warranted. I bought a used Subaru here and it overheated on me the day I bought it. The ECU also has many codes stored in it about electrical problems that were not disclosed. (these codes do not show up on the dashboard and require a scanner to find these problems) Also a thick oil was found under the oil fill cap indicating that something like Motor Honey was recently added to the valvetrain in order to conceal something. The next day as Joseph requested (claiming he would look at it that day) it overheated so badly and so quickly while driving it the short distance back to his dealership (a 15 minute drive) that half way there it blew off the top radiator hose and the car shut off and was unable to be restarted. I had the car towed there that day. He did not look at it that day and then didn't get around to it because quote "I had been so busy with a lot of stuff here". I then had a phone call with him April 1st where he said he put the hose back on, burped the system and checked the thermostat and it was fine. His reasoning that it was fine was that he let it sit in his shop for 45 minutes to idle. For some reason not taking it for a test drive? Two days later I went to pick up the car and it would not immediately start, it was chugging and huffing and blowing lots of white smoke out of the exhaust and it now had multiple codes flashing all over the dashboard. At this point I felt uncomfortable driving it the short distance home, so I left it there and messaged Joseph back. He claims it "ran fine" when he parked it and that there was no codes on the dashboard. After this he stated I should get it into another shop soon saying "if something wrong with your car you need to get it to a local shop to get treated". I then stated that it was obvious there was something wrong with it and that I requested that "At this point I think you need to just do the right thing and give me my $4,000 back." To which he refused and just sent a picture of the warranty paperwork. I don't care what paperwork I signed, I don't care about the profit margins of his business, I don't care about a warranty, I care about morality. And the moral thing to do would be for him to admit the car is damaged and refund my money. I have "owned" this car for 15 days and it was only able to be driven for less than 1 hour of that time.

Me and my fiancee purchased a beautiful car here. Joe was a very nice and honest guy he let us know right away about everything we needed to know about the car we test drove it and loved it. Thank you so much and we definitely will purchase another vehicle there in the future.

Before finding this place I was ready to give up HOPE. Two words come to mind when I hear the name E & J Auto Sales. HONESTY AND QUALITY!!!! I purchased a 2010 Subaru forester. Joseph went above and beyond. He helped me find the perfect car that was within my budget , reliable and one that will meet my daily needs. I am so grateful to have found such a wonderful family owned car business that actually cares about their customers, are knowledgeable and they stand behind what they are selling ! Overall I had a very good experience buying a used car here. The price was very reasonable, and the car passed inspection. Only one person was working there, and they were having trouble connecting their computer to the internet. Nevertheless, he provided good service for a good price, and I do recommend.

Twice now Joe has been able to attend to my vehicle needs on short notice when my regular mechanic was too busy. He was efficient, reasonably priced, and pleasant to talk to. UPDATE: Once again, Joe came through for me! My regular mechanic has been too busy to work on my car any more, so I called Joe. He got me right in, took care of my vehicle's issues, and didn't break the bank. I think I just found my new mechanic!

My best car buying experience yet! Joe was kind and worked with me to show me all of the nooks and crannies of the SUV I bought from him. I got a great deal on a safe vehicle for myself and my two young daughters. We will definitely be going back to purchase future vehicles!!

Bought a very nice used car here for my daughter. The owner was very nice, not pushy, and the car has been as good as he said it was. I’m not saying all the cars are mint - they are used, but if you are on a budget and want a good car at a fair price, stop in. Glad I did.

Had to get a new battery, new key ignition, had work done on the alternator, the back up camera all of a sudden got fuzzy. He has you write reviews before leaving his business and then within not even a month the issues start.

Bought a beautiful Rav 4 and I have to say it was the most enjoyable experience I have had when it comes to buying a vehicle. Owner was as straight forward as I could ask for and I enjoyed chatting with him. I have know doubt that I will be very pleased with the vehicle. I will definitely buy from him again.

My daughter bought a rav4 from Joe, he showed us all the work he put into it and we drove it and checked everything out ourselves. He was very straight forward about everything he knew about the vehicle. We got home and the radiator was leaking. I called joe and he took care of it without question. I would buy from him again . I see some others with negative comments but when you buy a high mileage used car you should expect that it will need something regardless of where it comes from. Dealers do not know the history of these cars and they do their best to fix the problems they find before selling them. Thanks Joe.

I would not recommend this dealer. The owner, Joe, is dishonest. I caught him in a few lies including when he claimed the vehicle was a one owner, owned by a "little old lady who just used it to go to church." The carfax said otherwise. Be sure to take any vehicle to an independent mechanic to get it checked out prior to sale, and do not trust his word that it will pass inspection. Brought the vehicle to Toyota and they would not inspect it and said to immediately bring it back to where we purchased it. There's a hole on the underside of the vehicle making it unsafe to drive. On the Notice of Sale, he did not mark "Exhaust" and "Body" as deficiencies to the vehicle even though there was a place to do so. This is unethical. He even went as far as to say the car was in perfect shape. He's an unethical salesperson. Both the exhaust and body need extensive work. The quotes equal over $4,000. Joe denied all responsibility and tried to even make it my fault for bringing my car to a big dealership. He said that they were not to be trusted and there was no hole. Brought it to Stans Auto Body in Keene, and sure enough, a hole. Honesty is important in the car buying game. People don't expect perfection when they buy used cars, we expect to put work in, but to get dishonesty and lies is wrong. Just be smart if you're going to buy from here.

We are very happy with from start to end. He has great knowledges about car We purchased.. He is very open person and he will give you honest answers. He gave us great deal If we went to different car dealer more likely more expensive Friendly and professional and give you care . I recommend to families and friends.

Purchased a RAV4 with a 2AZ-FE engine. Bought it “as is”; but very very happy with the condition of the body and engine. The car had relatively low miles and the engine is running perfectly with clean exhaust; wow, I struck gold purchasing great car with a perfectly running 2AZ-FE!

Owner was very responsive to initial inquiries, had a good selection of cars at fair prices, and was honest about the car history. Have had the car for over a month to really check it out, drives great and passed inspection with no issues. Mechanic’s quote was “looks like it is in great shape”.

Honestly my husband and I were super excited about getting the car that we had chosen. The people honestly seemed super friendly and willing to help us. But the thing is when we had gone and test drove the car there was absolutely no lights on (no check engine light or anything) and then we drove it home about 25 minutes away and all of a sudden the check engine was on. (Because they used the computer to shut off all the lights prior to us getting it) And then we took the thing to get checked out and three codes popped up. Overall it’s a nice car. Just bummed that they got 6000 out of us and we have to put another 600 into fixing it two days after being told it was inspectable and a safe car for us and our two month old baby. Very disappointed and will not go through them again for a car, and will not recommend them to my family or friends looking for cars :(

After having major issues with my previous car, I found a perfect car here. I have been driving the car for 2 weeks now and there has been zero issues. My car did have the check engine light on, however when asked they were upfront with the issue. My husband and father in law also looked over the car before buying, and everything said about the car was to be true. The owner and his wife are very kind and helpful people. I highly recommend!
