Terrible hours and 0 flexibility. God forbid you get there 1 minute past 3, they will not let you in and if you’re on a tight move-out schedule, being open only 2 days a week is not going to cut it. Hopefully they give me a refund for the $30 I already spent to dump here.
If you're looking to shop for someone else's junk, this is the place for you. However, if you're looking to get some work done do your best to find anywhere else. The employees do their best, but they really have an awful town they work for. The townies that come here move in complete slow motion and do their best to completely block the dumpsters you intend to use. I don't know what is worse, the townies that come to this place without a care for who they might be slowing down, or the townies that come up with the rules to begin with. The fee structure is absolutely ridiculous for bulky waste, wood, and small construction debris. The best is the way townies park at the swap shop with no regard for how others may need to leave the transfer station. Also, having political signature drives to save the old, decrepit, environmentally unfriendly town dam right by the exit didn't seem right at all, I've been to transfer stations in 5 towns and have never seen anything like that.
Nice folks and appreciate what they do. It would be really nice though if we could get out of the dark ages and let residents show up with a credit card (gasp!) to pay for dumping bulky items without having to bring a checkbook. Square and many others make this very easy with a simple tablet or phone using cell service... no other infrastructure required (ask any business downtown). And most of us would be fine with paying the transaction fee if that's an issue... sure beats running back home when you forget your checkbook.
There is a kickass collection of free stuff here IN FACT THEY SAY THERES A SURPLUS i got some new sneakers, coffee mug, pc gaming keyboard, chairs etc. Super nice volunteer staff
