Concerning Supervisor Wayne Smith and Arthur Greenwood - whatever town selectmen put them in should be ashamed of themselves. They’ve turned what was once a nice community gathering spot into a place where the people who run it openly bully people and act like thugs. In fact the good reviews here are from the town selectmen’s wives.
The general atmosphere they both create is one of unpleasantness, a gang type feeling, like just by coming to the dump you have somehow offended them and entered into their territory or fiefdom.
They both like to stand at the concrete barrier where they can survey the area and watch everyone, 5 feet from the door to the building. They often have their arms crossed and their expressions are glowering and they watch me and others intently as soon as we arrive and you can tell they are looking at you intensely trying to see if they can ‘bust’ you on something or ‘catch’ you at breaking the rules.
I’d say 8 out of ten times in the midst of unloading my garbage and distributing it to the various correct areas they need to be disposed of, one or both of them will approach my vehicle, stand within a few feet of me to ‘inspect’ my garbage like the gestapo or ‘garbage police’ to see if I separated things correctly and make some kind of statement, complaint, or tell me what to do.
They often try to get me and others to pay the $20 ( or I’d it $25) fee for a full trucks worth of bulk waste even if I say have ½ normal garbage and ½ bulk waste or a different combination that is less then a full truck bed full.
For instance Arthur about a month ago came over when I was unloading with a college student who helps us on our farm to declare “ahh looks like all bulk waste eh?” Even though most was normal garbage and I only had a couple of bull waste bags. In these situations I have to ‘make my case’ to ‘the judge and juror’ that no, in fact these are all separated and most are normal garbage.
When they first started, or Wayne Smith started ( a few years before Arthur) I had to go through my ‘educational’ phase, where pretty much every visit I’d be harangued by him. I wasn’t separating well at first but quickly learned, but it’s like because of those early few times now I’m harassed every time I go.
Wayne Smith when he collects money on the full load for bulk charge, initially would joke like he was collecting for himself and putting it in his pocket. I saw him joke like this with many people and I didn’t get a receipt at first so after that I began requiring one from him if I had to pay.
They hollar at me and others often. They don’t say things in a kind civil way. They act like people are stupid and treat myself and others badly.
Rude bullying behavior. It’s un comfortable to scary at times to go there. Yelling , they like to double team up on some people. There are better ways to conduct your self professionally and treat each person like a neighbor who pays high taxes up pay your salary
