Paid in full for a week in July, we stay here every year. Learned in May that I had cancer and would need surgery and weekly chemo until the end of September. Contacted Forest Lake Campground in May to cancel reservation, discussed options and was told we could carry our week over for later. Just received the all clear from my Dr today. Called to make reservations and was told they would not honor our already paid week. They said we would not get our money back either. Won’t stay here again as they are not people of their word.
Campground is easy to locate, very fair prices, clean bathrooms(no one really uses them), free hot showers, some decent activities, easy to get around, dog friendly, and lots of seasonal campers. The beach area is fairly nice. This campground is very close knit and it seems everyone knows everyone. I didn't feel uncomfortable, playground needs updating, not super kid friendly if that's what you're looking for. I would say it's mainly for adults, but there were a few kids. For the price and the what you get, I would say it's a great option. The owner , who is a widow seems pleasant and keeps things moving!
Huge seasonal area. Didn't look like many sites available for campers. We had a pull through, level ( didn't have to do any leveling). Very reasonable prices! Beautiful clean lake/ beach. People doing maintenance were friendly and polite. Do not accept CC or Debit cards. Nice and relaxing.
One of the best old school campgrounds I have been too! Golf cart friendly the locals are all very nice. Kids can swim in the lake or go fishing and the fishing is good!
Camped at a tent site; the sites are big. Easy check in, lots of activities sponsored by the campground (cribbage, cornhole, potato roast while we were there), water and electric hookups. Lots of seasonal regulars but everyone waves and says hi. Overall very active, friendly campground. Definitely recommend it and will be back
Lots of fun. The campers are all friendly and fun. There is not a lot of problems at this camp ground either. I do wish however that there were more community events held on the weekends...
Had a great weekend at Forest Lake Campground. Brought the boat - the lake is great for swimming, fishing and boating. Played Bingo on Saturday night. Campground is clean and has a great layout - recommend to bringing bikes or golf carts to get around. Wonderful place for families, couples, anyone looking for a great camping experience.
Primarily focused on seasonal sites. Very poorly maintained facilities. Limited amenities. Lots of fast moving golf carts buzzing around all day and well into the night.
Terrible campground. Dirty, most of the full time summer residents are drunk on a constant basis, while driving golf carts around. There was a massive knock down brawl last night and management did nothing about it. On top of all that the owner who is around kids all day is a registered sex offender. I will never camp there again. There are plunty of campgrounds around definitely avoid this one.
The campground was very nice, and the owners were very pleasant. It seemed more like a seasonal place, than anything. The only downside was the bathrooms were way too small. I could barely fit in a stall, and I'm a pretty small person. Very clean all around.
Forest lake campground is the best by far. The lake is beautiful . The sites are big and the owner Norma is so great and friendly. We have been seasonal there many years ago and went back this year for 3 weeks . It is the same people that we new 15 years ago and are still camping there . So something is right at this campground. Forest Lake is my favorite and will go back again soon. Thanks Norma for keeping the campground fun for all. Steve and Diane Romani Florida
Forest Lake Campground is really a nice place to be. They have a lake to swim in with a beach front area for laying in the sun. They have holiday events(off season) up until the campground closes for the end of summer/fall season. The people and staff there are very friendly and accommodating to their patrons whether you plan a weekend there or plan to stay an entire season. The place is surrounded by a wooded terrain and quiet, perfect for the one who wants to get away from all the city noise and traffic.
