We stopped in here the other day slightly panicked that something was going on with my wife’s car while she was halfway to Yellowstone. The woman who took time out of her day without hesitation reassured us everything was good to go! We are so thankful to her and this shop. It’s hard to find people you can trust, and this shop is one you can!

I had a great experience at Kingsbury Automotive. Elise at the front counter was especially nice and informative. They were able to fit me in for a break job, call with an estimate and in a few hours I was on my way. They are very reasonable and I highly recommend them.

Kingsbury auto is everything you'd want from a mechanic - trustworthy, reliable, and knowledgeable. Working on a car in 2025 isn't cheap, but the prices here are fair and seem appropriate for the work performed. Their front of house staff is friendly, follows up when they say they will, and never tries to sell you on anything - just inform you of what's happening in your vehicle. I feel very lucky to have them in the neighborhood.

Called and made an appointment for my AC. Elise was super professional, knowledgeable, and very friendly. My car was finished when promised and the price for service was less than I was quoted at a shop in Carson. Thanks!!

I spoke with Elise a couple times before my scheduled repair. I was confident that she knew what she was talking about. I drove 150 miles to have them replace my exhaust manifold. When I got there, they had the right part, and the repair went as planned. They even took the time to show me exactly where the original manifold had failed. Their father started this shop years ago, and now that he is gone, his kids take great pride in providing honest repair services at fair prices. My repair would have been over $3000 at Subaru, but $1400 here! Very personal service! By the way, Subaru offered a 1 year warranty, but NAPA gave me 8 years.

The BEST family owned service in Tahoe. Elise is honest and kind and does not sell you what you don’t need. I’m just super stoked I found them & definitely do not go anywhere else!!!

10/10 great service. These guys have helped me out with my old truck twice in the last so many weeks. Friendly and reasonable. Fixed some issues that other mechanics swore were taken care of. Thank you to Elise and both Shawns for their help with my Ranger.

Both my headlights went out within 24 hours, I drive an older vehicle and they were able to find the required replacement bulbs, and replace them within 30 minutes. Great service, knowledgeable people and a great family run business. If in the Tahoe area and in need of service, definitely go here first!

They are pretty fast and good pricing. They couldn't fix my issue last time around which is a bummer. And wrote false information on the carfax report. But for a small shop they are just fine.

Visiting the Tahoe area when our water pump went out. It's never a good feeling being far from home (300 miles away) and having car problems, but decided to give Kingsbury Auto a try after reading the reviews. We were very fortunate they were able to take us in because they are in great demand. Not only did they fix the problem, the cost was very reasonable. They insure their work which gave us even more peace of mind. It was a joy to meet and speak with Sean and his daughter, Elise and if we ever find ourselves in need of work on our vehicle while in the Tahoe area we know who we will take it to.

I can't say enough, so I'll just give you the rundown. 2018 Chevy blew a water pump as soon as we left town to head home (9 hours away). Coasted back down the hill to the closest option. Turned out we ended up at THE BEST SHOP IN TAHOE!!! They had parts and rearranged their regular customers to get us back on the road. We were able to ride bikes and hang out in Heavenly for an extra day!! They took less time than expected and charged less than than the bid. Thanks to Kingsbury, we made it home with minimal delay!! Thank you guys SO MUCH!!!

Absolutely amazing auto repair service! We had a broken trunk and needed to drive hours to get home that day. In desperation, we called Kingsbury Automotive to see if they could help us and they kindly offered to take a look. They were able to fix it up and did it FREE OF CHARGE. The workers there were so nice and I am so so grateful for their help. They definitely seemed to know what they were doing. Would highly recommend going for any of your auto needs!

I always use Kingsbury Auto as my go-to mechanic in the Tahoe area. They are always kind and quick to help with any issues they identify. They are one of the only solid remaining family-owned businesses in the area, and it is always a joy to support the good work that they do. That's on top of the fact that they always keep things reasonably priced and are willing to go the extra mile (sometimes literally) to find a part if your car needs it.

Kingsbury Automotive is a well run family auto repair facility located in Stateline, Nevada. Elise manages the service desk and is always very helpful and polite. Her dad Sean (sp?) is always there at her side, and will expertly answer your service questions. Sean’s sons work in the shop and perform their repairs and replacements with care and efficiency. This repair facility will take care of your auto needs. They will always ensure that you leave with a safe vehicle. They are also affiliated with Tech-Net. I strongly recommend you have them help you with your automotive needs. Reservations are strongly recommended. Worth the wait! JM

We're from Oregon. Left tail lights (including brake) went out which isn't safe. I called Elise and she said c'mon in. It wasn't like they weren't busy either. They got right to it. I replaced both. I couldn't be more pleased. Friendly service!!

Kingsbury Automotive is the best!! I was visiting Lake Tahoe when my check engine light came on. Kingsbury Automotive identified the problem and fixed it right away. Terrible people they made me pay $580 for them to Jerry rig some wiring because their mechanic was too incompetent to understand the 4X4 was shorting and the switch just needed to be replaced. I do not suggest going here because even when I brought it to their attention that after they "fixed it" my 4x4 went out resulting in a sliding out and crash. They handed my keys back to me and said they don't want me as a customer anymore because they're too arrogant to understand they screwed up.

A Fantastic family owned business. Theu rose to the occasion, got all of my work, as well as surprises handled, and got me safely back out to my 2800 mile trip. Happy to call them, my local shop as they were straight, honest, and didn't rake me over the coals, when they could have. Thank you, Elise and crew !!!!

So my husband spent at least $3k on his Ford F-250. $700 on doors alone. The truck won’t start. The doors won’t open. I called and left a message for them. I hope they call back. If they take care of it I will change the review but at this point they just steal money. As far as I am concerned they are not even mechanics because they fixed nothing. Deeply disappointed

Extremely friendly family owned business! My family and I were visiting Lake Tahoe when we ran in to some car trouble. The folks at Kingsbury were able to see me and help me out very quickly! Highly recommend if you are in the area.

Our front bumper was damaged on our rental car (we were on vacation) and the car was not drivable. They took a look and in about 25 minutes (which was great considering they were quite busy and decided to help us right away) the car looked as good as new. And it was all at a very low price! Super friendly family and great customer service! Very lucky we came across the shop!

Very knowledgeable people. We had an engine light on and AWD malfunction. We were thinking it’s gonna cost us so much, but these mechanics found out it was the battery so quickly. Changed battery in no time for reasonable price and we were good to go. They have a great customer service as well!! Thank you!

These guys saved me $5,000. My truck had a serious issue with the engine, I consulted a few places that all said it needed to be replaced. Kingsbury Automotive's head mechanic "JR" spent a lot of time researching the issue and applied a fix that so far has lasted 20k miles. I ended up paying a few hundred dollars instead of having replacing the the engine. This is the only place I go to now. They always check on my engine just to make sure their fix I paid for 3 years ago is still 100% good to go. You don't get service like that at most places. By the way, that dog hanging out in the front of the shop is part of our local search and rescue. She has been credited for saving 3 peoples lives.

Own local snow removal business - They converted my truck into a plow. Fantastic job. Covered all bells and whistles at a fair price. Great customer service, very patient and knowledgeable.
