What clients say about Point of Rocks Motel & RV Park in Potter (NE)

Camp here. Noise because of the near by train track and long trains going by day and night. Bathroom fair. Hostess very nice and accommodating. There is about 24 sites and the cost of $30 dollars for full hook up is great. But be ready for the trains.

Amazing site. So pretty with the grove of trees, clean bathrooms (not vault toilets!!!) full water, sewer & electrical hookup. Site was clean & very well maintained. Plenty of property to roam with dogs & kids. Kind owners & great price for all you get. Came in for Potter Days, which was fun. The townspeople are so genuine!!!

They epitomize Nebraska nice. They are extremely kind and helpful people. The motel is well maintained and clean. I stayed in a room with no satellite/cable TV, which was a little cheaper. The full hook-up campground is easy to navigate and very well maintained as well. There is a restroom but I did not use it while camping. Update: I've stayed at this campground in the past. It is a very well maintained campground in a quiet country setting. It's just a few miles east of the Potter exit off of Interstate 80. Although it is close to the interstate, it is far enough away that it's not impacted by the noise from the racing cars and trucks on the highway. Moreover, it's not your typical interstate campground where there are many RVs crammed into a small area. There is a self registration and pay box located across the motel as you enter the property. The campground has eight 30 amp sites (sites 1-8, which are the first sites on the right as you enter. They are located on the north side of the campground) and at least 15 50 amp sites. Each site has water, sewer and electric. There is a public restroom but no shower facilities. There is a train track located across the highway from the campground. The nose from the training is noticable but but overwhelming. The rates are tiered based on electric hookup needs. In 2025, the 30 amp sites were $30 per night and the 50 amp sites were $35 per night. That's a great bargain for such a nice campground. They also have monthly rates. Overall, this is a great campground for either an extended stay or just a night or two. The owners are extremely helpful and very nice people. I highly recommend this campground.

Some of our family stayed here for a family reunion and for Potters Day. I didn't know they had a motel here . We would have stayed here as well. Great for camping. Hookups were fantastic, had water and outdoor bathrooms with running water Great layout for campsites. Had a campfire each night. It's just wonderful.

Nice size pull-thru sites. Clean rv park. Nice staff. Easy in and out. May need ear plugs due to the proximity of the railroad, the road & the interstate. Just remember to ring the doorbell. Do not just open the door & walk in. It may look like an office for registration, but it is their residence! Suggestion...lock the door.

We had an overnight stay on our way to Colorado. Has full hook-ups and pretty big spots. It's actually really beautiful here and quiet. My only issue was the train constantly running throughout the day and night and it shakes the RV. I understand that can't be helped, but other than that it's a great place to stay. The owner is soo friendly and kind, thank you so much for letting us stay in your RV park.

I am very confused as to why and how the motel rooms at this place have such a tiny presence in the reviews and online. I travel around by car in rural areas just seeing sights every six months. I plan my trips around small, rural motels. It's a weird hobby, I know, but places like this are what feed my love of travel. This motel was STUNNING! Not only was it (by far) the most affordable place in several trips it was also my top three favorite places I've stayed in seven years of rural motels. The owner was gracious (and Peewee the puppy was ADORABLE). The room was EXACTLY what I would hope for (extraordinarily clean, SAFE and had a fridge, microwave). There's no TV but I personally liked that and I feel like most people have one device or another of their own anyway. The place I am staying tonight is twice as expensive and a lot more shady and not that clean but has great reviews....I wish I could go back to Point of Rocks. It exemplifies a type of hospitality that is rarely found anymore.

Cute place with full RV hookups. Spaces are generous but could be difficult to get in and out of with a large trailer if the place was full. It was not over crowded during our labor day visit. Staff was friendly and helpful. The train does come by at all hours of the day and night but we didn't find it too disruptive. Flies were bad

The RV camping section is amazing. Flat level grassy spots to set up, full hookups, common areas to play with fire pits, and great prices. On-site restrooms as well. Not to mention only a little over a mile from the track! Great spot to set up for PNCC races!!

We stayed 1 night after leaving Grand Teton National Park to head back home (Indiana). At arrival it looked to be a self check in but the owner met us as we were picking our site. Very nice and easy process. $25/night for 30amp full hook up with a decent level grass/rock site. We would come back here again! We were aware of the trains and yes they are loud especially at night but at least they don’t blow horn at this location. There was a train every couple hours on this Friday night stay. The motel looks very well kept as well. Give this place a chance!

The only thing holding me back from a 5-star is the no warning about the very active train tracks nearby. Cool to watch and hear during the day, kinda hard to fall asleep at night. The park, in general, is beautiful!! Green grass, where we parked our 5th wheel, trees and tons of shade nearby, and a cute little climbing structure for my nephew to play on.

Really exceptionally nice staff and the site 15 was long enough for our 40 foot class A, towing to fit. Grass between sites. Even better the Trains run right across the road from here so free massages. We love Trains.

This is such a cute little place. Husband and Wife owned and operated- very sweet couple. We were in a camper pull-thru site- Super clean with great hook-ups. There is a motel on site that is adorable. This is the perfect overnight stop along I-80. There is a train track nearby but it didn’t disturb us, our kids or our dog. I would definitely stay here again.

We had a great experience! We stayed Saturday afternoon and all day Sunday and rested. It was so quiet we were thrilled. Thank you so much for letting us stay at Point of Rocks Motel and RV camp

This was my first RV park ever -- I just bought my RV in May and haven't been able to take it out until now. We were worried about coming in late, but the owner was super responsive on Facebook messenger and helped me get checked in over the phone. It is close to the train tracks, but I can handle the background noise so it didn't bother me. Hookups were convenient and easy to use. For my first time working with all of this, it was everything I could have asked for.

Nice little RV park! Clean, pet friendly, comfortably. The owner is super friendly. Yes trains do go by here but you get used to it. We stayed just 1 night but would definitely stay again.

Owner very helpful. Very nice sites. Water, sewer and electric. Very close to very active train track. If your a lite sleeper it might be a problem. I love trains so not a problem for me.

Quirky campground, but really nice owner, super helpful, our spot had full hook ups and there were decent bathrooms there. Showers were in the process of getting upgraded. Big bonus, working washer and dryer! One downside is the close proximity to the train tracks which woke me up twice on the first night, but not the second night. All in all, I would definitely stay here again on my way out of Nebraska!

We stayed here for 2 months. Lynn is so nice! Big pull through or back in spaces, pet friendly, quiet neighbors. There is a train but not so loud you can't think. Close enough to town. Very well kept!

Great price for rv site with full hookup. Very clean park and friendly owners. We liked watching the trains pass and were surprised at how many went by. This was perfect for our 2 night stop.

Found via RV Parky and/or RV Trip Wizard apps. We're on our way back to Texas from Wyoming and needed an inexpensive place to overnight. I could tell from the Google Maps satellite view that this looked like a nice quaint overnight stop. I wasn't wrong!! It's even nicer in person. Great pull thru with 30/50 amp (only 4 w/50 amp), water & sewer. All for $25!!! I think we had the best site because of a large shade tree . . #18. There were only 3 other RVs when we got here. Lots of grass, flowers, pine trees, rocky bluff on the other side of the highway & RR tracks. There is a quaint Hotel too. I only gave it 4 stars because #1- I can't give a 1/2 star and, because there is no WiFi, Canle or OTA TV. Also, there is a bathroom but they are locked. I read a review about a laundry but I haven't seen it yet. We stayed here in a 40' 5th wheel, overnight and will stay here if we pass this way again.

Really nice owners. Park well cared for. No bathrooms but not needed. Beautiful area. 30 or 50 amp. Train tracks pretty noisy but with windows closed we still slept fine. Would return if back in the area.

Glad we were able to find this campground for the night on our long journey home from the Grand Tetons. Very Afforable full hookup, no WiFi thou, we hadn't had it for a week in the Tetons. Owner was very accomodating for us.

Great place for overnight stay. Also good for multi-nights, quiet, nice grounds. There is a train nearby that runs several times a day but it wasn't bothersome. Owners are very friendly and helpful.

Great place to stay! Very clean, . We pulled in last night late and they made it so easy for us because we were on the road and did not know where or what time we would arrive. We were on route from Jackson Wyoming to Indiana. . Wonderful people, wonderful place!

We absolutely love this spot! The folks that own and operate it are very kind and thoughtful. Very clean and cozy rooms at the motel. Great scenery. Countryside setting just a couple of miles from the charming small town of Potter. Highly recommended!

The kindest people run this place, and it is very clean and so cozy. From inside your room you can look out and enjoy the scenery as well as how well kept the yard areas are, with green grass and pretty flowers. I will remember this place if and when I'm through the area again. Thank you, Point of Rocks Motel & RV

Trains yes but the history of the trains and cliffs beside it are worth looking into. 3 miles from only duckpin bowling alley west of the Mississippi. Stars...breathtaking. Good price. Well maintained. No stickers to speak of and if you see some management will remove them asap.

Only gave it three because bathrooms are locked. No one to talk to, just box for your money. Nice place but would have gone to Cabela's if we'd realized before we set up that toilets are locked

What a find. No freeway advertising, nothing on GPS showing Campground. Just a small universal green sign with the little trailer on the exit sign. Lots of grass, lighting not overdone. You can really see all the stars at night. Owners Hal & Lynn were very accommodating. Will stay again when we pass this way. The even have a little motel also, didn't stay there.
