What clients say about Fairmont Hot Springs Resort in Anaconda (MT)

Absolutely ridiculous. Apparently, guests are unable to control the comfort of their own room because they have a "house" temperature set (74°F). We were told if our room is too hot to just turn the thermostat, which doesn't even work due to the "house" controlling all rooms, to off and open the window. There is no window, so you have to open the slider door. Now they've created a safety issue. Do not stay if you're a woman approaching a certain age or you value your privacy and safety. You can also hear everything/everyone around your room, including a room with a running fan (must be the only one in the building). Disappointed with how this place has become.

The staff was really nice but the pool closing at 10 is kind of annoying I have been coming here since I was a kid and was bummed. The food was not good I had the street tacos and the prime rib on it was dry and unseasoned the chips were stale and the food is way to overpriced for the quality. Overall very very disappointed in the drop in quality over the years

Me and my family have been going here for a night or two for almost two years. Each time we visit, we have been welcomed by an amazing group of staff and, also other visitors. I would highly recommend visiting here for a mental reset.

I loved this place. The outdoor pool and hot tub are special. I highly recommend this place, especially if you like swimming.

I took my wife, daughter, sister, and mother to Fairmont and was very disappointed in their food service. There is nowhere close to eat, so you are stuck relying on their lounge to suffice. I ordered bison sliders and they were never pulled out of the freezer to defrost. They only offered one type of wine by the glass and didn't tell us what it was only to discover it was $20 a glass afterwards. They don't itemize your receipt, so you have to ask for one. For dinner, the surf and turf was another disappointment. The crab must have been frozen for so long that it came out of the shell very stringy and dry. My steak must have been thrown on the broiler with a weight on it because even though it came out to temp, it was charred on the outside and dry on the inside. They even asked us to bus our table at the end of dinner, so we put our plates on a nearby table. With the amount we spent, we thought we deserved better service. I think people should know what to expect. The pools are nice and big and the slide is fun. That is all I all to say. We won't return even after the renovation.

We stayed here Monday Feb 16th through the 19th. The hot spring pools are nice. The outdoor pool was closed one day because it was too cold. The lobby area is nice. Restaurants are outrageously overpriced. They know most people want to stay at the resort and they take advantage of you. The rooms need a lot of work. The bathrooms don’t have a fan or window so after one shower the bathroom is soaked and it never dries. The shower doesn’t drain. Your bath towels never dry. So on Tuesday we asked for room service to be done on Wednesday so we could get new towels and have the bathroom wiped down. She said there was a thing for your door, one side said do not disturb, the other side requested room service. The next day I went to put it on our door and saw that both sides said do not disturb…so I went down to the lobby and asked if we could get room service. She said that needs to be requested 24 hours in advance. I explained the conversation from the day before and she went ahead and put us on the list for Wednesday. We were gone most of the day, came back, no room service had been done. So throughout our stay I had to go back down to the lobby to get new dry towels because our towels were always wet from such poor circulation in the room. The walls are very thin so anyone talking in the room next to you or walking in the room below you is heard. Pretty common for hotels I suppose. For the price I just expected better accommodations.

Have been coming to this resort for years. This place slowly going down the hill. 1. Never have enough staff to operate normally. Came with kids. Water slide not open. "Not enough staff". Pools are dirty for a good clean resort. 2. In executive room the door between two rooms not closing, sagging to one side. Bathroom is very outdated with stains. ?. 3. THIS IS THE BIG ONE. Staff at the front desk is not friendly at all. Come and experience yourself. Not the first time experienced this. This time decided to write a review. I bit disappointed this time. Hopefully the management see these reviews and address these issues especially about staff politeness. It is a core to successful buisness.

Golfed on the simulators and April in the pro shop took fantastic care of us. We were first time users of the simulator and she got us all set up with the program and beverages. Checked in on us several times through out and always with a smile. Very enjoyable atmosphere!

It was great for a first time. Slide was fun. The pool was fun. Slept well. No complaints

Imagine an econolodge with a hot pool. If your room has a kitchen then you'd be better off cooking your own food lol. On the the other hand you can drive to anaconda (15 minute drive) to get food. I had dinner and breakfast at Fairmont and was let down each time.

We greatly enjoyed our stay. It is a very family friendly experience. They even offer cribs to families with infants. There were some issues at check-in. Their computer system kept saying we could not check into our room because it needed to be cleaned. They made us wait in the lobby with a three year old and newborn for almost 2 hours (after driving 4hr. to get there) until they decided to ask their manager what was going on. The manager noticed it was only that room on the floor that was marked to be cleaned. She found out with one phone call that it just hadn't been updated in the computer. We could have been on our room that whole time.

This is a wonderful place to visit with the family. Water was nice and hot! Can't wait for the new addition. The food not so good. We had the breakfast buffet the cost was 19.99 and was nothing special. Food was cold. And not much selection. I would say I had a better breakfast buffet at the Holiday Inn and that was free. They could do better. Or make the buffet free. That is what its worth.

The place is great but ro be honest I find the "lifeguards" to be a bit question. Its December I get that the weather outside is colder but to have staff in full blown snow pants and parks make me wonder how effective it'd be to get in water and safe a child or an adult life.

We come back every Christmas for the waterslide and restaurant. Unfortunately when I called they promised us they would have the water slide going yet on Christmas morning no water slides going. the waters edge restaurant was pretty horrible. Paid almost $80 a for two plates of raviolis. There were only 5 noodles on each and the rest was cold slimy mushrooms, absolutely no sauce. Food was cold, yet plates were hot. Bill was $150 not including the tip yet for two adults and two kids. We unfortunately we're not able to eat two of the entree's because of the cold/slimy quality. Will be choosing another place for the family next year. Probably one of the worst higher in restaurants that was absolutely amazing last Christmas. ☹️ So $500 down the drain. Will never return. Save your money and go to white sulphur. Even front desk lady wouldn't offer any kind of discount or help.

The check in was great, rooms were good but when we decided to take a dip in the indoor pool, it was cold. We did let an attendant know and the pool was warm the next day. We did stroll outdoors and found that pool warm. The changing rooms were disappointing, no lockers and only 2 showers out 4 had shower heads and the timer on the one that worked required me to reset it every 30 seconds. We had charming dinners in Anonada. We chose not to eat at the hotel because of bad reviews.

If you are female and want to get assaulted by men go here. My female friend called me all shook cuz she was assaulted by one of the friends of the manager and then the manager told her to kick rocks when confronted. Gotta love it when a business actively supports violence against women!

I'm not gonna say this was a wasted trip because it surely wasn't we had a good time and enjoyed the resort but there were a few things that we did not like. Starting with the check in we were met with a woman who just didn't seem like she wanted to be there. And fast forward to a day later when I asked her if the golf center was closed she said no, and I told her I checked the doors but none of them opened. She only looked at me and said well they should be open. Instead of calling and asking like I've experienced before but whatever. Ok back to check in, we booked the family fun package and there were items missing we had to go down to get three different times. Then we got in the room, the presidential suite, and it was alright you could tell it's been updated but from the photos you can see there seems to be some DIY fixes and then we looked around and found this lovely empty bottle of white wine under the bed that's been missed. Other than that the room was decent but still a little overpriced for what you get. Then there's the pool areas the pools are nice but when you look around and see towels laying all around and no staff that comes and collects them is a mess because then they run out of towels and no one restocks then for 2 hours. That towel picture is taken at 10pm as the pool closed and we went in at 7pm but left at 9pm because it was crowded. Something that worried us was at night they have young attendants watching the slide but no lifeguards. It gets awfully foggy on a cold night and you can see how this could be dangerous. So the pools were enjoyable during the day, but then you have the steam rooms in the changing area that stinks heavily of must and mold. Also. When you climb the stairs going to the slide it stinks like wet dog and you can see the mold and mildew all the way up. Then by the stairs to the slide they have two fans one affixed and one not both covered in years worth of dust. The biggest complaint about the pool area is it doesn't seem like people clean it like it should be. The package we got again was the family fun package and it was nice to get a couple of things but I feel like I was being charged extra for items I could've bought at the dollar store. Pictures attached of a couple items. Final thing I will complain about is the food. The food is ok, but you can clearly see and tell it is cheap food marked up to the max. You're better off heading to Butte or Anaconda to get a decent meal for less than or equal to the value. On the day we left our server for breakfast ignored us. He took our order and got our food then we never saw him again. We finished our meal and everyone but me left to head back and pack up. I sat for 5 minutes more before I went to the front and just paid and left. You'd expect better service when I'm paying . $4.50 for a coffee and $22 for drinks alone. The things we enjoyed about this place was the golf simulator, the massage studio, and the bar. The ladies working the bar are some of the nicest and friendliest people there and know a lot about the whole resort. I will say we are excited for the renovation and will probably come back again and hopefully they can make a few changes to really make this place what it has the potential to be. This may seem negative but it's more of what we noticed and would like to see change. Overall we had a great weekend and I'm looking forward to coming back and hopefully improving my rating and review.

Whether for business or leisure, this place has it all! Hot pool, swimming warm pool and indoor pools. A couple different delicious restaurants, the Water’s Edge is my favorite! It’s obvious everything is homemade! I enjoy staying here and would recommend this place as your next vacation getaway! Regardless if a one night vacation or multi-day!

"Ultimate Disappointment" Booked the ultimate romance package and a suite for my gal. The cost was nearly $500 for 1 night. Late 4pm check in and 11am check out. Pools close at 10pm. Now the room.. Felt like a trailer house. Old everything, wiring ran from squares cut out of celing drywall that was just screwed back up. Noise from HVAC unit was like sleeping in a NASCAR pit stall. Spoke with the dest manager and wow what a peach. Will not return and will be filing a lawsuit. Don't waste your money here folks.

Th resort rooms are getting dated, yet the beds were comfortable and the rooms clean.

You will pay a small fortune because of the hot springs as the hotel is maybe a 3 star. The rooms are spacious and the top ones have killer views w a little patio. We were in a 2 queen &there is a table between the beds but none on the ends. No luggage rack & a noisy fan in bathroom that cant be turned off. Not quite outdated but def not modern either. Rooms are spacious & have fridge/micro but the coffee is crappy keurig style (I even called to make sure it wasnt Keurig but it was) But really who cares about all that. The point is the hot springs & you really really cant beat this place for that.

Lovely stay. Wish the slide was open weekday days time. At any rate, the place is nice and getting even nicer. We had a run-in with a couple of nasty grannies doing water exercise one morning. They yelled at my daughter and then me and my wife. Why? A toy beach ball encroached on their territory. I suggested we could share space in the pool, but “they were there first.” Come on ladies. And Fairmont, you can’t condone this nonsense. We’re all paying guests and want to use the amenities.

Nice hot springs, decent food and nice there’s a bar outside near the pools. Clean and our room was nice. The bar and restaurant could be a little more upscale and the place itself is somewhat outdated. I still really enjoyed it there and would go back *Update to your reply- ya the decor does not look great. The design of the dining areas was odd and it seemed outdated to my friend and I. But thats a matter of taste and I’m surprised that’s an upgrade. Also the front desk girl was not friendly on the phone when we called to let her know our check in would be a little later than the norm and when we arrived she was quite unpleasant in person as well. Morning staff was very pleasant. Still gave 5 stars because it was still overall clean and a good experience.

It was an awesome experience. the indoor and outdoor pools were fantastic. They also have a concession stand outside that serves alcohol. First time I have ever seen that. They have a pretty cool water slide that my kid enjoyed. The only thing that sucked was their room thermostats are on a house system, so we had to sleep in a 82 degree room ?. Did not get much sleep because of that.

When we tried to checkin at 3:30, an older lady with a huge attitude told us no and we had to wait. Then we overheard that the hotel was very low on guests so we got back in line and a nicer person checked us in immediately. Our room had a massive gap in the door frame so anyone could enter by sliding a credit card in the lock area. So we had to keep our valuables in the car. Restaurants were good. Aside from bad attitude lady everyone else was nice.

Not worth the insane prices. Restaurant is mediocre. Vending machines dont even work, good luck trying to use them (they only worked with Apple Pay. Wow.) Room temperature control wouldn't work at all. Stuck at 65. Shower water was lukewarm. Coke was flat at the pool. Arcade and hot pool were great, but I will say I prefer Boulder Hotsprings over Fairmont. Not worth the $$.

We really liked stopping here. The kids loved the slide! It looks like they are updating some so that’s nice, it could use it. But our room was clean, and it was quiet.

Overall a good stay. Positives: 1) the room was clean and comfortable 2) the food was good 3) the pools are great 4) it's beautiful out there. Negatives: 1) the food is extremely expensive 2) for the price I expected to see more workers, I found it odd that there were often 1 or 0 lifeguards outside for the number of people in the pool 3) the front desk people were at times loudly complaining about guests and at times were not very friendly. I've been many times and will continue to go since it's close to where I grew up. I think they need to reassess pricing or enhance the experience as the cost/value doesn't line up.

Fairmont is an interesting place, fun still but not what it used to be. The staff is still the highlight of the trip, but what used to be a place to unwind for all ages is now overpriced and underutilized. The pools are a good time, and the place is clean, but the food is overpriced and was not great on this occasion. My steak had no sear and was very gummy, my crab was overcooked and hard to remove from the shell. My clams appetizer was served frozen and i honestly was worried about being sick. Try the apple crisp though...that was the 2nd best part of the meal. The best part was my amazing server, who took every opportunity to get things right. The staff here make the experience for me. Super respectful and accommodating every step of the way, service that was kind and complementary. There are so many things they could do better, pools open later, opportunities for community. I used to love this place, and it has so much potential.

I've been coming to Fairmont Hot springs for nearly a decade and I've had the best experience this most recent time! My kids reported excellent lifeguard experiences at the slide and at the pool and I saw the same! The bartender Anna at the pool was awesome and friendly and the people behind the snack/pool counter were friendly and attentive. I feel like positive change like this takes a LOT of work and should be acknowledged... We will definitely be back sooner than we would have because of our positive experience. Thanks to the whole staff
