I had an emergency breakdown with my 2003 Chrysler Town and Country Limited AWD. I live in Potosi, Mo. about 76 miles away. The minivan went into limp mode so top speed was restricted to about 25mph. It was determined that the throttle position sensor went bad.
I had called on recommendation of the Plaza Tire Mgr close by. I called explained my situation and the guys worked me in it was a VERY pleasant experience. When all finished the minivan drove better than when I first purchased it about 8 years ago. I would without hesitation recommend Kirkwood Auto & Truck to others. It is not often that customers give positive comments about a business, hats off to you guys.
This was the most dishonest shop. I have ever had my vehicle at. It looks like it would be a small honest family business which are usually fair and don't screw people over. Its hard to find good mechanics that can actually diagnose and fix vehicles. I would never recommend anyone to go here unless you want simple things done like service work from valvoline.
The honesty and hospitality flowing from these garage doors is awesome and truely hard to find these days. I would trust them with any of my vehicles for any kind of work.
My car broke down on the road, seemingly due to the alternator. Before I got my car towed there, I called and asked how much it would be to replace the alternator. A guy named Dave looked up the price based on the make, model, and engine type and said it was coming up as $713 including labor which could change but would be somewhere around that price. I asked which towing coming they recommended and had it towed there. After it got there they did a diagnostic and said that it would be about $1500 including the tow; they had to replace the battery for the diagnostic and the alternator would be a bit more than $1000. I asked why the alternator was so much since I had talked to Dave earlier and he said it would be around $713. The guy on the phone said Dave prolly didn't realize that it was a car with a computer system--but that was a lie since Dave looked it up based on the make, model, and engine type. He then put me on hold and came back and said "the boss" says that Dave told me it would be between $700 and $1600 which was also a blatant lie. In the end they ended up replacing the alternator for a somewhat high but fairly reasonable price but the ease with which they lied about it all was infuriating and they do not seem trustworthy whatsoever
Return visit on 10/13/2025 had to get new battery and they did it immediately with one phone call! Catering to the customer's needs and quality of work done is top notch! (Would be a fantastic slogan to describe this great staff at Kirkwood Auto and Truck, Inc.)

This place is a dump. I think they broke the world record for having the most ugliest car sitting in one spot. If the place burnt down, I wouldn’t be sad.
I can’t say enough good things about this place! Very fair pricing. Work is done when they say it will be and if anything goes wrong, they will take care of it immediately. I talked to a few guys there and everyone was super friendly and professional. I don’t live close but they were able to fix my vehicle when I was in the area. I live an hour away but will definitely make the drive back if I ever need any maintenance done! Wish I could give them 100 stars!
They are my go-to auto place. Making appointments is easy, remaining in the waiting area is fine if it’s a quick fix, and they willingly express knowledge, capability and integrity.
Have heard a lot of good things for this shop. Went over to check over a purchase I did, and although they said they were full, they promptly took my car and had a thorough check.
Wait time was low, everyone was helpful, rates are decent, and knowledgeable people
Drew got my car in unbelievably fast for a wheel alignment and oil change, the work these men do in this facility is beyond amazing. Alway's friendly and hard working to make sure your car gets the care it needs. I will never take my car to any other facility's besides this one.

One of the only auto shops with good honest and reliable service. I've been coming here for years and and sent many of my friends. They are hands down EXCELLENT! Nothing but high praise for a shop that does great work at reasonable prices and they stand behind their work.

Could not have had any better luck having a shop with employees that are nice, competent with a reasonable price and in walking distance for easy drop off.

The owner saw me the day before Thanksgiving. Super nice and intelligent man. He fixed my truck up for a fair price and really helped me out on short notice. Couldn't be happy with the service.
I really appreciate and respect these guys. They've been taking great care of my aging parents and their car for a few years now. They've never tried to oversell repairs when they easily could have. Example: a couple of years ago my mom's car was stalling. They could have sold her anything. But they charged her for what it was; a $70 repair of a vacuum hose. Today when I was there to get mom an emissions and safety inspection, they took the time to ask how my folks were doing. That's class. Honest, fast, reliable, and caring.
These guys are terrific. They are honest, hardworking, and all around good people. I just moved to the area a couple months ago and wanted to support local business. These guys did a splendid job on my car and could not have been friendlier. They're straight forward with their estimates and get the job done in a very timely manner.
I would recommend them to anyone.
My check engine light came on after I got an oil change (at a different place) and I took my car to several different places and received several different estimates ranging from $106-$1000. A friend/coworker recommended Kirkwood Auto & Truck Repair and I went there during lunch and they knew exactly what the problem was. They showed me the issue and even tightened my tail lights that kept going off, all in 10 minutes right then and there. I'll definitely be going there for everything that has to do with my car from now on.
I stopped at 08;30 this morning and asked if they could fit me in for a state inspection. They were already busy so were unable to give me an exact time. I told them that I had a 2;30 appointment and they called at 1:30 and told me I was done. Everyone was polite, efficient and let me check something off my list. I plan on returning.
