Hands down this is the best auto care center in the St Louis area I was a driver out of North Carolina who broke down due to a water pump leakage after picking up a load in St Louis and the company I worked for was recommended to go there and let me tell you it was the best decision especially if you want your car done right Roger is the goat of mechanics I can never thank them enough for going out of their way to make sure I got back on the road if you ever have car trouble in the St Louis area Stricker auto center is the go to no doubt argue with ya mama not me

Very accommodating, friendly and trustworthy team — when I asked for a rush on my repair, they did their best to make it happen, completed repairs in the timeframe they said they would and updated me frequently. Reasonable prices. Highly recommend!

I can’t say enough wonderful things about Stricker! I took my daughter’s Audi in for new brakes. Debbie, the owner, was very cordial and was able to fit me into their busy schedule quickly. Roger, the technician who worked on the car, was the most hardworking guy I’ve ever met and really took a heartfelt interest in the job at hand……because the brakes were past their time to be replaced, there was a lot of brake dust on the body of the vehicle and on the wheels. He worked SO hard to remove it and was very successful! The car looked beautiful after his hours of very difficult work. He couldn’t have been nicer too. What a great guy! PLUS, the cost for everything…. Parts, labor and taxes, were unbelievably inexpensive. You would not find a cheaper place anywhere! I highly recommend Stricker Auto Body.

I recently took my stepdaughter's car to Stricker Auto Center for a brake job and to remove numerous iron deposits from the body, and I couldn't be more impressed! Roger was absolutely phenomenal to work with. They efficiently sourced all the necessary parts and kept us updated throughout the entire process. Roger dedicated numerous hours to meticulously removing the iron deposits, and the end result was incredible - the car looks brand new! Not only was the vehicle ready when promised, but the prices were also shockingly low. I would strongly recommend Stricker Auto Center to anyone in need of top-notch automotive service. Five stars isn't enough - they'd get a million from me!

I've been relying on Stricker's for years & trust them to always do a great job! The mechanics know they're stuff & have never tried to sell work that wasn't needed or required.

Rodger was AMAZING!! My car engine was overheating on the coldest, snowy day and he got it in immediately. He called frequently with updates and was extremely thorough in explaining all of the work he was doing. He was upfront about pricing and definitely was much more cost effective than any other mechanic or dealership. I added on an oil change last minute and he had no issues with completing it. I would HIGHLY recommend Rodger at Stricker Auto Repair for all of your car issues. This was my first visit, and it was SO much easier than working with the dealership or any other mechanic. I am so thankful I found Rodger in this stressful time!

I recently had my alternator replaced and saved hundreds of dollars by doing it with Stricker Auto compared to another place I almost had it done. Also they are very nice and got the job done quickly! If I have car problems in the future I know who I'm gonna call!

Larry's always been helpful and honest! He has been fixing my cars up for 10+ years. I've had other mechanics at this shop and they are just as great!

Amazing and honest service! We had to organize a repair on our daughter’s car from 5 hours away. We were thrilled with the communication and honesty . This experience put our minds at ease that the car was fixed properly . Highly recommend! Thanks, Roger and staff!

I got in an accident and they replaced my radiator and fan. I was happy so my sister took her car there too. While doing an oil change they cut the sensors and didn’t know how to fix them. Today I noticed a funny noise from my car and took it in elsewhere. Turns out the radiator and fan were incorrect for my car and they made some rig to make it work and it gave out. Now I have to go pay even more to have their mistake’s corrected. This is truely upsetting to witness such poor buisness practices. If you don’t know how to do something don’t try and fix it. $1200 dollars flushed just to have to pay $2,500 elsewhere to fix what they broke and didn’t fix properly. IF YOU VALUE YOUR CAR, YOUR MONEY, YOUR SAFETY GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.

Incredibly professional, didn't try to upsell me. Replaced the part really quickly and even saved me $ on not needing to replace a part that they could've! Will definitely be taking my car here from now on. Highly recommend!

This team is amazing! Truly a God sent today when my car started making a "struggling noise" and I needed somewhere I could get into immediately. I called a handful of other places (including my Kia dealership that said a week from now was their earliest available) and was feeling discouraged until Roger told me to head over to this shop! They changed my oil, checked my tires and aired them up in under an hour. Such great service and value. I will definitely be back! I would give more than 5 stars if possible

I needed a windshield washer motor replaced. The mechanic said it's a universal part and he would have to splice the wire. He said instead of doing that lets order the part from the dealer because that will just pop in instead of cutting the wires. I told him I really appreciate him ordering the part from the dealer instead of cutting my wires and possibly damaging my car. I definitely will be back and recommend them to my friends.

This was my first time buying tires and I didn't have any experience with it so I called around 4 different auto repair shops to get a sense of pricing, customer service and availability. My husband and I were preparing for a long road trip and I wanted to make sure the car was in good shape before leaving. Once I spoke to Roger from Stricker I knew they were the best option. Not only were they in a convenient location and affordable, but they were very helpful offering their insight into the best tires for my needs. On top of that, they were willing to squeeze me in before working hours just to make sure that my car was ready in time for my trip. Highly recommend Stricker Auto Repair!

I brought a tire in to get patched on a Thursday morning. I specifically requested that it be patched and not plugged. They never called to tell me that it was ready. I went back to check if it was patched on Tuesday. I found that they had plugged the tire, and they didn't even do a very good job of plugging the tire. The attached picture is the spot where they plugged the tore. Update: I was mistaken. They both patched and plugged the tired, but forgot to remove the blue adhesive backing from the patch. The patch in the 2nd picture was found inside the tire when a different auto shop worked on the tire. I am updating to 2 stars because they did what I asked, but made a mistake.

I've been doing business with Stricker Auto for 46 years. My dad still has all his vehicles repaired there, starting there even longer before me. Im treated like family at Stricker I know all the mechanics by name. I get great service here at a reasonable price. Ask for the owner Debbie, she's wonderful, just like her dad and uncle was, who started the family business. My highest recommendation!

I recently took my vehicle here to have some work done and I must say they stayed in touch with me with any updates, the cost, and let me know about other services they do as well. The cost was affordable and I even got my oil changed too. So if you need something minor or major fixed or a simple oil change I highly recommend you bring your vehicle! here!

We have a pleasant experience every time we bring our vehicle in for repairs. The staff is knowledgeable and only fixes what needs to be fixed. Update: this used to be a great place until Tony left. We had quite a few issues with John the last time we were in, so we won't be back.

Surely, one of the worst experiences I've ever had with a mechanic. I even attempted to rectify the situation and keep business with John Stricker but was only burned twice. I would not trust this man with any more of my vehicles. Dishonest and rude, I would consider him borderline disrespectful. Tried to double his labor rate because I wished to purchase my own part and bring it. Although I respected his "colorful" warning against the use of products from China, I did not appreciate the attempt to swindle me. After having to reach out to a former shipmate (Navy veteran) who is car savvy and bringing him into the conversation, Mr. Stricker finally agreed to use my part and not raise his labor rate. I should not have trusted his integrity at that point, but I was eager to have my vehicle fixed. Fast forward, get my truck back. I am experiencing a different, but related issue. I give John a call explaining the changes to which he responds "well bring it by" before he hangs the phone up. Due to my high travel occupation, I was not able to immediately. A few weeks later my car fails me on the side of the road, while I have my children with me. I get it towed to his shop again, hoping for a better outcome, as well as service now that we are familiar with each other, and still I was disappointed. He over charged me to only patch the problem. Did not call to say my vehicle was ready. Left my window down while it was parked outside as well. Every encounter with this man and shop was a nightmare! Bottom Line. I would highly suggest for anyone looking for an honorable, new mechanic to KEEP MOVING past Mr. Stricker's repair shop. I would assume you could find a better experience....... ANYWHERE.

I’ve been taking my vehicle here ever since I moved here. I am very picky about a mechanic ever since a bad experience in the prior city I lived in. I can attest these guys are honest, fast, and helpful. I continue to take my car here and I feel absolutely confident in their skills and prices.

I have been taking all of my cars throughout their lives here, and I've never had a moment where I felt I was being cheated. I send all of my friends to Stricker. They're knowledgeable, affordable, and can work with you through some serious times.

I take my car here for safety/emissions tests and any time I have any issues with my car. The staff is great and they’re honest and let you know exactly what needs to be done with your car if there’s issues. Take your car here if you need work done! They’re the best!

Tried this mechanic based on previous reviews and was not disappointed. Our repair took a while because of parts delivery & their popularity but they stayed in touch and were reasonable. When I picked up my car Tony took the time to explain everything and answer any questions.

I went into John Stricker after having been to a larger auto repair chain. I went in with a small leak in my rear differential and a loose wheel bearing. The larger chain company quoted me at almost $2000 for repairs and that did not feel right. I decided to look around and found John Stricker here on Google. I made an appointment and he got me in within a day. I left my vehicle at the shop and within a few hours I received a call with an update. They were very nice and explained that yes, I had a small leak, but it was nowhere near bad enough to need any attention. They were honest and told me up front that the wheel bearing was in bad shape and needed to be replaced. They offered a quick way to fix the wheel bearing and told me the exact price, down to the penny. I showed up a couple hours later and my car was finished and purred like a kitten! No more loud whining when I accelerate! Additionally, I feel it is important to note another thing. One of the sons accidentally torched a small area of my vehicle - getting rid of a little bit of paint. They did not lie about it. In fact, they came up to me immediately and showed me the issue. Before I could have much of an opinion (which I wasn't upset anyway), they offered a solution. I was recommended a shop not too far from John Stricker Auto Repair. They helped me fix the mistake with little to no cost to me! I would highly recommend them in the future. They seem like they truly care about people, the community, and not forcing you to spend thousands of dollars on unnecessary repairs and parts. I am going to be bringing my vehicle to John Stricker Auto Repair from here on out. I am so pleased with their knowledge, labor, and customer service!!

Tony is excellent, very personable and honest. If he doesn't think a repair is critical, he lets me know so I can decide whether to have it done or not. This is a terrific change from other shops that recommend $400 worth of work every time I go in for an oil change. When a repair needs to be done, it is taken care of properly; and I get a call at the end of the day when the car is ready. To have a mechanic who is friendly, capable, and honest is priceless. I'll take it before all the shiny lobbies, small waiting rooms, and cheap coffee and cocoa machines in the world.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about John Stricker Auto Repair and Tony and the guys here. I'm a young girl that was just passing by on a cross country road trip (DC to Oregon) by myself, and my newly bought car started acting up. I immediately thought worst case scenario, fearing my head gasket had blown, and brought it in without an appointment. I was freaked out and know little to nothing about cars, but Tony took time out of his lunch break, all the while joking and assuring me, to help despite the fact that he had a long list of appointments. Thankfully, there were no major issues but in this case I could have been seriously taken advantage of and instead I left with great piece of mind and a smile on my face. The level of caring shown by these guys is amazing. I want to shout from the rooftops how great this place is, and if I lived in St. Louis I would never take my car anywhere else, ever again!

I went into John Stricker with two intermittent problems, neither of which the shop could reproduce (another shop I went to a few months ago couldn't either). However, they didn't charge me for the 45 minutes they spent examining the car. The guy I was working with even gave me a quote for what he thought the issue was, but encouraged me not to do the work until the issue (an intermittent grinding noise on startup) started getting more frequent so they could recreate it in the shop. That's extremely rare. I'm used to places where they try to push $800 worth of repairs for issues that aren't even relevant to what you brought it in for (it's an old car, I'm well aware that there is "wear" on many of the gears. Thanks for stating the obvious, Huron Goodyear), so to be encouraged to wait was something new. Mind you, this place is definitely an auto shop. There isn't a fancy waiting room, but there are a few chairs you can hang out in if you don't want to walk to a nearby coffee shop. The guys are really friendly and you can tell that they all get along really well. I'm sure I'll bring my beloved 05 Mercury Sable back whenever she needs a tune up or oil change, and I'd definitely recommend this place to friends.

I lived in St. Louis for 2 years (2011-2013) and always went to John Stricker Auto for my car. Tony is phenomenal with both cars and people. He is very down-to-earth and conveys his professional opinion without being pushy. I always felt comfortable asking questions because he was never condescending or rude. Sometimes, I'd go in convinced that the repair was one of the Big Ones that would clean out my wallet and he'd give up a great scam opportunity by explaining to me how he determined it was something else. On the more technical side, anytime I came to him with a problem, my car came back fixed. The price was always reasonable and he’d make the distinction between “this poses an imminent threat to your safety” and “this should be done soon but it can wait.” I just moved out of state again and am truly sad to lose this shop as a resource. Highly recommended!

This place is the best. To begin, customer service is superior to most any other business I have encountered in St. Louis. I'm always treated respectfully, and communication regarding findings and repairs is excellent. Repairs are completed timely and delivered as promised; the one time I did have an issue, it was immediately corrected--this place stands behind its work. Best of all, this is an honest shop. Tony tells me what I need, what I will need down the road, and what I do not need at all. I'm always impressed with how much he remembers about my car from one visit to the next. Prices are less than the chain shops and otherwise very competitive. I strongly recommend this business.
