When you need a tow, the odds are pretty good that something not so great has happened. If you’re lucky, it’s just a breakdown, if you’re unlucky, it’s something worse. We recently found ourselves in the “something worse” category after my daughter was in an accident. Thankfully, she is okay, but her vehicle is not.
These situations are stressful for the driver and their family. Our daughter lives in Springfield, MO, but we are over three hours away, so rushing to her immediate aid wasn’t possible.
When she was finally through the process of police reports and towing and made it back to her apartment, we were able to talk to her at length. She was understandably upset, but one of the things she shared through the tears was how nice her tow truck driver was to her through the whole incident. As a parent, hearing that someone treated your child with respect and kindness, especially during a stressful time, is heartwarming.
When I finally had a chance to talk to the driver, James, on the phone, he was every bit as polite and helpful as my daughter had described. He asked how she was doing and, in spite of it being late at night, gave us access to the location where her vehicle was stored so that we could clean it out and remove the license plates.
I honestly don’t have enough good things to say about 417Towing and James McCullough. He helped make a stressful situation easier and did so with uncommon empathy.
No matter how hard you try, you can’t always be there for your children, but it’s nice to know that when you can’t, there are still others who care.
I needed to have my car towed to the mechanic, but due to a bad storm, several large limbs from a neighbor's tree blocked the road. When my son got stranded on the side of the highway about an hour from home, then had already gotten scammed my another “tow” company who insisted he pay upfront (yes, red flag but the kid is still learning) & never showed, causing my boy to be waiting for OVER 2hrs, the driver of this tow company ended up being just a few miles from him & showed up very quickly, towing my boy to a tire shop so he could get his problem addressed. The guy who I talked to could I think sense my stress, as I was in full “mom” mode (b/c teenage boys who THINK they know everything, STILL need their mommas) & he assured me that he would get my boy taken care of…& he did! Will definitely be using them again if the need arises & would recommend them to anyone in the Springfield area!

We've been using 417 Towing for several years now and have never had an issue with damage to vehicles. James always is great with communication to us and to the customers, and vehicles have always been picked up in a timely fashion and brought to our shop for repairs.
I’ve been having issues with a work vehicle and was needing it towed for the third time in about 6 weeks. The normal place I use tried to increase the price about 25% and then acted as if I was a jerk for questioning them.
I called 417 Towing, and they bounced right out. Upon normal inspection, they realized the battery was not connected properly and they fixed it and charged me a small fee. Props to them for their integrity and service!

My car broke down and needed to be towed to a shop they came within 30 minutes as promised and when I had them tow to a different shop they were once again super prompt! Both of the workers I spoke to were super nice very fair pricing highly recommend!
