I appreciate the super sonic fast response from Chuck's & Big Boys towing! Stephanie handled my call. She was great from beginning to end! Isaac towed me, truck and trailer from Flying J to SLG Peterbilt in O'Fallon. Fantastic team you have there. Thanks a bunch! I hope i don't require your services any time soon, but you'll be my "go to" towing service in any area I'm in and you're available! I'm sure all the drivers stuck behind me and the folks at Flying J appreciate you getting me out of their way as well! Keep up the good work.
Terrible company, possibly corrupt if you ask me. My friend and I lost control on the highway during rainy weather and drove off into the ditch on the right side of the highway after some hydroplaning. Thankfully nobody was hit or hurt out of the endeavor and we just got stuck in the the muddy ditch. Emergency services showed up soon after (God bless them for their service) and while we were in the process of contacting Triple A the first response gentleman informed us he'll contact the towing service for us since they deal with Triple A and we thought we were good. Not so.
After the first response and fire engine departed a state patrol officer arrived and confirmed all was well and confirmed that a tow service was on the way and agreed to wait. Well, heavy set bald gentleman arrives and was as polite as can be, unhooked his cable and set out to get us pulled out of the ditch. About the time he drops the cable he comes to our window and tells us, "Alrighty, that's $300 cash or $315 on a card."
"What?? But we have Triple A!?!"
"Sorry but we don't deal with private insurance companies."
"Well we can't afford that! That's why we have Triple A insurance to cover that cost. Can't we just call them and have them get ahold of you to straighten that out?"
"Nope. State patrol called it in and we have to remove the highway obstacle." (see photo of just how much an obstacle we were)
"Well we can't afford that, can't you just leave and we find someone else??"
"Nope! No can do. If you can't afford it then we'll have impound your vehicle for non payment."
"You've got to be kidding me! That's the whole reason we got Triple A to begin with!"
"Sorry, unless you talk to the officer over there (and thank God he still was) to tell me to stop I have to haul your vehicle off."
It was at this point I marched straight over to the officer's car and pleaded for him to cancel that tow truck for all the obvious reasons stated. Officer agreed and then he and the tow truck took off. I shudder to think what would have happened if the officer wasn't still there and the tow truck got away with it.
Well once we eventually got ahold of Triple A they said they'd send someone out immediately. Their first and only recommendation at that point was Chucks. We asked politely if we could get anyone else because of what just happened (and we informed them as well of what happened) and they said that Chucks was the closest only one available in their network. We begrudgingly accepted but noted we'd video the whole event especially if the same guy came back because we weren't sure if he wouldn't hold a grudge. We didn't feel very confident or safe with that fellow at that point. Funnily enough, Triple A called back and said that Chuck's refused service (Gee I wonder why??) and that they'd contact another company (Rival Tow Company in area) of which we were very fondly familiar with. Sure they were a little further away but they were also in the same town the car would need to go back to anyways. We were elated and even more so when we found out that the guy was only 10 minutes away dropping a car off to a dealership already. We left a very positive review for him and his company because he went above and beyond and helped us to a rest stop so we can check the vehicle for damages and see that it was driving like it should. Then even followed us back to the next city just in case he was still needed.
In the end, total polar opposite for professionalism. If Chuck's had only waited not even 10 minutes he would have gotten the job and service through Triple A and all of this could have been avoided but ultimately we felt nearly the victim of something totally unnecessary. Will 100% not recommend them to anyone and informed friends and family to avoid them at this point because of this experience.
just taking my ex-girlfriend to a funeral or grandma's and it was a nightmare I had no way there except for a vehicle that was not registered cuz I just bought it she wouldn't have made the funeral if I didn't drive this car I didn't think it would be a problem if I did get pulled over on the way to the funeral it was about an hour drive made it all the way to the town of Sullivan Missouri in the local police pull me over for not having plates on the vehicle explain to him the situation he wasn't hearing it pulls me out of the vehicle handcuffs me then runs my name find out I have traffic infractions in another county I begged him to let me go to the funeral and I would come back afterwards and turn myself in nope wasn't happening he called the tow truck company Chuck's towing and had my vehicle towed end up sitting in there over 2 weeks just to see a judge cuz I could not afford the bond should I wait to see a judge I want to see the judge I plead guilty sentences me to 2 days time served should I call Chuck's towing about my vehicle the inform me it's over $1,000 to get it out p the initial tow is $375.oo and it's $50 a day for storage I them I could not come up with that and if he would work with me on payments they said they would but it would still be $50 a day wasn't even 30 days total when I got a letter in the mail saying that they're going to apply for a title what are they going to scrap it with a bill of sale how this is legal I couldn't tell you anyway how these guys live with themselves every day when they do this to people couldn't tell you I told him I would bring a title up if I to get my things out of it I had sentimental stuff in the vehicle where did my tools and whatnot my clothes everything I owned was in there at the moment I was in between homes he said that would be fine you still need the 375.00 tow fee I mean geez isn't that a Ford explorer 4 wheel drive 2-door standard brand new tires enough for these greedy bottom feeders but it's okay I'll start over and get my life back on track at the end of the day there's still who they are if I could give them a lower I would
Never ever call this place! They charged us 1000$ to take the truck from the stop light to the truck stop. The stop light was in front of the truck stop and tow only took 30 mins but there charged us for 2 hours! 450$ an hour.
Wouldn’t let me leave NO stars! Was behind a truck on highway. Had something hanging down in back making a rock hit windshield. Left messages, cant get anyone to call me back! TERRIBLE company no communication & not fixing what they broke!
If you are from out of the area do not use these guys they charge a premium close to $300. My daughter and I had our car breakdown a few weeks ago . It just shut down and was an electronic issue that could only be resolved at the dealership. We are from out of state and they must have a special rate for that because when they came he let us know that it would be out of pocket and a lot, but not how much. He wanted us to have it towed to his shop but I just wanted to get out of the middle of the road and requested that we get the car to the flying J within 100 yards . He moved our car and was polite but it was close to 300$ when it was all done . I was waiting for my family to come and was talking with another guy in the parking lot who called them for a tow , he was told the hook would be about 95$ and 5$ a mile . Our hook was 250$ and a bunch of service charges for less than a mile .
Everything was a headache! The people on the phones were extremely rude! We were told one thing and when it came time to do something, was told something completely different! Louise was very kind to work with & he was about the only one! I would give him 6 stars and the peope answering the phones a 1
Hard to say. The people at office is pretty nice. Have to give them credit for that. On the other hand the nature of towing company makes the towing feel like an extortion. Your car is being kidnapped and everyday you need to pay more. Your car being taken as a hostage and they don’t need to do a thing to earn 50 called storage fee from you then it was cash only. That’s a national wide problem and cannot solely blame on this one. Other than that towing service is fast and that’s all.
Called for a jump after an hour and a half it was faster to get a ride to Walmart and buy my own jump pack. I do not recommend these guys if your stranded and need a jump. The power pack cost less too!
My family has been in contact with them since the day dad wrecked his motorcycle coming home from work. They are charging us $50 a day for holding. As of today that is $1,600 and no stopping. We can't retrieve it without either a note from the Coranor or Death Certificate. It's been 3 weeks and counting. This is ridiculous!!!! How can you sit there and be ok with profiting off a grieving family? This sickens my whole family.
We had a tire blow out on our boat trailer on our way home from the lake. We couldn’t change it ourselves as traffic was zooming by so fast, and they weren’t getting over away from our car. We called Chucks and were told it would be about 30-45 minutes before someone showed up. Donald was there within 30 minutes. Not only did he help change the tire, but our spare was flat so he aired it up for us as well. The whole process took less than an hour and we were back on our way. So grateful for the quick and friendly service! Can’t recommend them enough!
My large, heavy, diesel pickup truck was towed from my home in rural Washington County MO. I live on a gravel road way off of the paved highway but the driver had no problems finding us. The driver was prompt, courteous, knowledgeable and safety conscious and had my truck safely loaded and secured in less than 10 minutes after he arrived. I highly recommend Chuck’s towing to anyone. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience
Johnathan, was at our rescue very quickly after we had wasted over 2 hours for triple A to find us someone. They finally called Big Boys ( Chucks Towing) and they were there within 20 - 25 minutes. We were very appreciative of their service. Johnathan was very polite and assured us he would have our vehicle to the garage on time.
The car broke down on the highway on the way home from work it was dark and very cold my daughter called me I drove to the car and parked behind her and put on my Hazzard lights nothing was working on her car. The toll truck came the young man was very nice he took the car to our house which was not a easy thing to do, our driveway narrow and long he had to get halfway into the van and push it into the parking spot. He is very kind and polite and it is a pleasure to have met him because he didn't have to go to the trouble it was for him to park the car but I am so glad that he did. Thank you so much.
Very professional and answered all questions I had! Our driver, Ranzo, was so nice and friendly with my 4 year old who was fascinated with the process of loading and towing our vehicle. I would absolutely, 100% recommend and plan on using Chuck’s again if the situation arises!
I've never had bad service with Chucks Towing. Always delivering the best service friendly service. Grouchy sometimes when they are busy but that's expected. Over all 10 on my scale of friendly, ontime ,courtesy and good COMPANY. THANKS CHUCKS TOWING.
I called Chuck's Towing in Sullivan because I had locked myself out of my car. The lady I spoke to told me it would be a 30 minute wait. The driver showed up, got my car unlocked and I was back on the road less than 30 minutes from the time I called them. ? I definitely was a happy customer. Fast and friendly service! I would definitely recommend them.
My niece and nephew had passed away in a head on collision. They were passengers in the car that was hit. I live 500 miles away and was going to Missouri to take care of the paperwork. I called to see if I may stop by to pick up their personal belongings. Here again the accident was not the fault of the driver of the vehicle. They were only passengers in the vehicle. All 3 people passed away in the vehicle. I was told that I could not collect their belongings until the tow and storage charges were brought up to date. The drivers parent were not sure who the insurance carrier was. Thanks to a friend in Missouri the insurance company was found. Even then, I didn't know if I was going to get the belongings. Fortunately I was informed as I entered Missouri that I would be able to gather their belongings. They even went out of their way to wait for me to arrive as I did not get there until an hour and a half after they close. I greatly appreciate that. But for future cases, please come up with a policy that would allow the belongings to be released to those who where only passengers. It would make things just a little easier. Thank you.
Great service, Driver stay in constant contact with me, arrived exactly when he said he would. Ryan was very friendly and professional. Dropped my truck exactly where I asked him too, even though it wasn't in the most convenient place for him.

I had a blow out in the middle of the night on a road trip to Kansas City was completely freaking out but Chucks Towing & Recovery put my mind at ease with such pleasant professionalism and prompt response! The driver arrived quicker than the estimated arrival time and swiftly and safely placed my car on a flat bed and off we were ! I recommend them ANYTIME !
Service was excellent! CJ was our driver and he towed our Tahoe when the wheel was about to come off by flatbed from Sullivan to Wentzville. He arrived quickly, loaded our vehicle with care and brought it to our home. We have cosmetic rims on our truck and he took extra care while loading and unloading!
Lost a boat trailer wheel on 44 just west of Sullivan. Called Chuck's and they were on site in under 30 minutes, driver was very professional and as nice as can be. Got me loaded up and dropped off to a shop he recommended in Sullivan.
He was very mindful of watching the boat and trailer as to not cause any damage while pulling it on the flat bed.

They quickly got to us after we wrecked and was extremely helpful. This was on the 4th of July around 7pm and they took the time to give us a ride to a hotel and help us get our bags out of our wrecked car. I highly recommend them before anyone else
Despite the fact that AAA gave the service the wrong area to look for me, Louis went above and beyond to contact me to find my exact location. He was professional and fixed the blowout on my camper very quickly so that we could be on our way. This was a Sunday afternoon with very heavy traffic on I-44, so I appreciated that they got to me within the hour. Thank you!
Very professional and timely, after having a blow out between service exits not knowing exact location and having a spare that had no air it was a good to know Chucks had my back. 150 miles from home in the dark and rain they sent Ryan who took care of our air issue and was courteous, professional and called to let me know he was close. Great job!!! Had a flat and the wrong tire iron for my camper. They came out in less than 15 minutes fixed me up for an extremely fair price unlike the I-44 place down the road that wanted a 170 minimum to bring a tire iron. Thanks Guys!!!
