Dustin with GT Tow was an absolute life saver! Had my truck vandalized and broke into and with no other option GT Tow stepped in and helped me out. With the very inconvenient situation that I was in, Dustin was able get help me get everything straightened out and got my truck back home. Thank you to GT Tow!
Overpriced towed a vehicle was there less than 24 hours and charged 600 dollars to get it out. Was not friendly and went through vehicle stealing items out of the truck....WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND TO ANYBODY
Had a blowout at 35 and Antioch. Tee with GT was driving by when it happened and stopped to help. He could not have been nicer or more helpful. The spare was flat and we had no jack so he got the car dropped off at the dealership for a fair price and no hassle. Highly recommended!

What an amazing tow service! They helped us out of a jam at 1am. No questions asked and 10-minutes later, they were at my truck saving the day. Tee called me 30 min prior to his arriving which was about 90 min after tow was requested. Tee was friendly, professional and considerate. Loved that he texted me a picture of my car safely delivered to destination!
A tow driver from this company just pulled in front of multiple cars towing a vehicle trailer and a truck. He was in median and pulled onto K7 south bound south of Lansing Ks. All of the cars he recklessly pulled out in front of had to brake. I would never use a company whose drivers are so reckless and have no regard for human life. There were so many of us in both lanes it is impossible he didn't see the traffic. And he pulled across the outside lane clear over to the inside lane. Smh. Crazy.
GT Tow in Smithville, MO is an absolute joke and a huge money grab. They are not helpful in the slightest when it comes to trying to obtain your vehicle or get straight answers about the process. The woman who answers the phone might as well not bother — because that’s about all she does, and you won’t actually get any real help. The only positive thing I can say is that when I finally got my vehicle back, all of my belongings were still inside and nothing had been stolen. Other than that, the entire experience was frustrating, unprofessional, and felt like nothing more than a scam to squeeze money out of people.
My children and Grandchildren were stranded on I-70 at night! Robert responded and got us off the highway and safe! GT is the best Tow Company around! Worthy of 10 Stars!
They came quickly to help me out and get my car where it needed to go. Nice people and great service. Would definitely recommend and will use them if I ever need to again.
The tow truck I had come to rescue me in Peculiar, Missouri did an awesome job! He was fair with pricing & understanding of my situation and made me feel at ease about the garage I was being towed to. Definitely Recommend these guys!
Scotty from GT Tow Service was AMAZING! I was scared, broken down on the side of the highway with 2 children and another adult, and he got to us so quickly! He was kind, and funny! When it came time to pay for the tow, I think I had an angel on my shoulder, because I got a handshake and a "have a good day," instead!

I am writing this review for the awesome people at GT Tow in Smithville, Mo. I am a truck driver and was in the Kansas City area and had a family emergency I needed to fly home to Texas for. My company arranged for me to store my truck with GT while I was away. When I arrived here, I checked in with their staff and they got me parked in the yard, AND then offered to give me a ride to the airport instead of me using uber. Not only that, upon my return flight, they called me to inform me that they would pick me up at the airport and bring me back to the storage yard! What Great Americans are they that they took care of a complete stranger without any reservation whatsoever. Thank you Blake and Josh, and the ladies in the office for your compassion and selfless act of kindness. You all became a part of that significant day in more ways than you probably imagine. My family and I will be forever grateful for your kind act of service! 🇺🇸
GT Towing did an excellent job of rescuing us when our truck broke down while towing our 48 foot fifth wheel near Kansas City. We had two great tow truck drivers from GT - one towed the truck and the other the fifth wheel, and our family and dogs split between the trucks. It was very important that our dogs be kept with humans - we had health concerns for one of them if he were separated during the tow, but Amy took care of us! Not only that, a week later, we had the same issue further down the road (long story) and I called GT Towing because we couldn't find anyone near Topeka, and she called her friend Tyler at Taylor's Towing in Topeka, and they took great care of us! Amy at GT Towing was a life saver, not once, but twice! I highly recommend GT Towing if you need anything in the Kansas City area!
Chris was so helpful when my car broke down in the middle of the highway in the rain at night. It was the first time this had happened to me and I was panicking and by myself but he was very kind and helpful. I would recommend them to anybody. It didn’t matter if it was raining and almost midnight Chris made sure everything was taken care of and was very efficient.
Avoid at all costs! This place is run by a bunch of scam artists.
They’ll try to sue you for $100 per day for storage without telling you that upfront- BUT the Missouri legal max per day is $75 AND that is only chargeable per day they are open for business.
Then they’ll act like they’re doing you a favor by letting you sign over your title and cutting down your storage fees. And after threatening to be sued, they know you’re desperate and you don’t have a choice.
Plus they force you to pay in cash, but they’re legally required to accept cards. Don’t let these people near your car if you have any choice in it.
I had a series of unfortunate events that led to me needing a tow service 3 times in one week. GT Tow was great. Very fair on their prices and good guys to work with. I will definitely recommend them to anyone I know.
I recommend everyone to stay away from these tow truck drivers. A while ago I was picking up some vehicles at America's Auto Auction when a driver from this company hit one of my cars and very blatantly they did not want to take responsibility for what happened. Unfortunately, the auction does not have cameras in that area so they took advantage of it and as a result of the incident I had to take responsibility for the damages. I only hope that fate knows how to put things in their place and that people are not so bad. We are all working to move forward and I hope that no one hires them again.
Definitely not doing business with them again. Driver told me one price at the scene of the accident, and when I called to pick up my car a few days later, they’ve tried to charge me over double what it should have been. Lady on the phone had an attitude, and owner was rude and refused to let my insurance pick up the car from the tow lot using a different tow company. Second tow truck driver hit and bent my metal fence dropping off the car. They’ll also tack on $100 admin fee out of nowhere. Stay clear.
I always appreciate great service, and William delivered! He was very communicative, and very careful of not only my vehicle but others as well. A genuinely friendly guy that put a priority on the customer (me) and the reflection of the company he works for. I think he’s new to GT, definitely a solid hire. I hope I don’t need tow services again anytime soon, but if I do I know who I’m calling. Thanks GT and William!
Great company. Great drivers. I have never met one who wasn’t a helpful person. They are some of the kindest tow operators. There are some shady tow companies in KC. GT is not one of them. They have been around for decades and have a solid company.
I broke down today on 435 West and was freaking out a little. Called road side assistance and they gave me the run around. So I called GT Towing and the dispatcher was amazing!!!! I didn’t get her name but thank you!!! They were there so quick and made me feel comfortable. And got the car home safe and sound. The driver was awesome!!!

I had a great experience with GT Tow! I had to tow a used car back to the dealer to return it from Smithville to Des Moines. It was a pricey round trip due to the miles, but understandable. I was able to ride in the cab because I had to finalize the paperwork with the dealer which saved me putting the miles on my other car and paying for gas. Everyone from the front office to the driver, Jake, were extremely friendly, professional and punctual. Wouldn't hesitate to call them again, but hope I don't need to for a long time. :)
Wheel and hub fell off our boat heading to the lake. GT came to our rescue. They were very cautious and gentle with loading it on there flatbed as to not cause any further damage. Hauled it back to our home and unloaded it in our driveway so repairs could be made.
