I took some scrap metal here a few months ago, got weighed and paid. Then I took another load in a few days later, got weighed and then the manager brought my money to me, but there was actually some extra money that they gave me for a minor mistake they made from the previous load a few days earlier. That was really unexpected and greatly appreciated. I never go anywhere else now.
Very rude way of answering and handling a phone call from a potential customer. I called to ask them a specific question and was responded with “what is it that you need?” In a nasty tone. I believe I had just asked about what I needed?? Lady needs some training in phone etiquette. Smh hope she’s not the owner or supervisor there.
This place was great! I was in an out within 5 minutes and was paid for some old copper pipes that had been cut out of my house plumbing to be replaced. Thanks!
This is a great place to take aluminum cans. The employees were very nice, friendly and unloaded my aluminum cans quick from my truck. Paid me after I signed the ticket. The employees here are happy. I can't say that about the other scrap yards I have been. Thank you NKC Iron & Metal. The owner is very friendly as well. This is the best place to do business with. It's the cleanest most organized scrape metal yard you will be pleased with the service & prices
Great customer experience!! I was greeted curbside as soon as I arrived with instructions on how to proceed. They were ready with carts and helped unload quickly. Extra thanks to Bill L. who was super helpful !! Highly recommend doing business here!!

Recycled my metal here today and it was an easy and good exchange. A worker greeted me when I arrived and helped unload my items. An easy process and I would come back again.
Took #1 copper in, clean and bright. They called it #2 copper and ripped me off a couple hundred. Will never go to them again. They wouldn't even discuss this with me. Had my spouse take it while I was at work. Very disappointed
Went here first time today to recycle some tin and aluminum cans from my home. The service I received was friendly and welcoming. They did not make me feel like I was wasting their time with my 3 bags of sorted cans. THANK YOU!!!
Very nice experience today! Despite the fact that I had a fairly small quantity of copper and even a ziploc bag of brass, I was treated with respect and I appreciated that. He sorted everything I had, weighed everything, and turned it in. Within 20 minutes I was paid and on my way. I must have gotten there at just the right time as it was getting busy. The street does get congested but there was plenty of parking across the street. Great day for me!!! Thank you for your service!
Great place to take your old water heater. Very nice people. You had to pull in and back out of the scale when i was there. Street can be busy so be careful.
Hours said 8 to 4 showed up at 3:30 with a full load they said they could take me on the scales no one else was on or near the scales...and was told to wait....after awhile they came out and said they closed at 4 and they couldn’t take my load what a wasted trip

Amazingly friendly and knowledgeable staff that took the time to help me find exactly what I needed for my project. Prices were very reasonable as well. I will definity be returning here for metal supplies.
Have done business in the past here and they are fair and reasonable on my past encounters.
Brought a couple catalytic converters down to see if they would take them or at least give me an idea of what they were worth. Refused to even look at them as they still were partially attached to the factory exhaust system, which I have no problem removing but simply wanted to know if they were in good shape what they would pay.
Obviously it was a burden to ask so much of them but figured when I can text pictures to a recycler out of state and they will give me a quote and pay my shipping then surely this place would be able to give me a quote in person.
I will bring more simple items here in the future that do not require such a labor intensive inspection process such as aluminum cans or random iron/steel car parts.
Not very good. The place offers a scale to the general public. I pulled on scales and a lady comes out wondering what I'm doing .you would of thought I was carrying the plague. Don't go there to get a custom weight. Very rude!!!!!
I brought in 2-60 gallon yard bags and 3 1/2 Tall kitchen bags. The two 60 bags were heavy, the one was hard to get in the back of my truck and the second was not quite that heavy. So I'm thinking there is at least 40# in the one bag, maybe 60 overall. I was told "15# of aluminum, $8.20" not going o return here, only came here because it had a much higher rating than the next recycling center.
Been there 4 or 5 times now, and I always drove away happy. Sure, the lady in the office is a no-nonsense kinda person...but it's like ordering at Starbucks, you'll get used to it after your first visit.
Pointers:
1. Aluminum is recycled as "cans with a little foil." If you have other aluminum scrap, they will take it, just keep it separate. Have the aluminum ready to quickly separate from the rest so things go smoothly.
2. They take all kinds of metal, just don't pay the same price for all, so be ready for the sorting process (Use a magnet to discern what is steel and what isn't.) For example: they take steel cans, just don't pay for them.
3. Always call first, and talk about what you are bringing. See if they take what you have. They have to shut down in a lightning storm.
I find them fair and easy to work with, if I question any thing it's explained at that moment. People need to remember that not everyone has a super duper day every day and need to adjust accordingly. I will continue to go and have no plans for it to ever change!
You could really tell the guy working Saturdays does not like his job. Very short and acted like an a$$. No good. We will probably start going to a different one and I have been going for 10+ years.
Actually I give them ZERO stars
They will rip you off. I Took 304 stainless up to recycle. The lady behind the desk offered me $50 a ton for it, when it was goin for .38 cents a pound. Come to find out regular scrap is goin for $90 a ton. I will never ever go there again. if you do go there, do your homework because they will rip you off. GUARANTEED.
I have used them many times for recycling aluminum cans. While they do pay less than most places, they are the closest option for people living north of the river. The extra money i would have gotten elsewhere would have been spent on the gas used to get there, so in my opinion, is worth it. Not to mention they are faster than any other place I've been, typically getting in and out in less than 5 minutes. They don't waste my time with meaningless small talk, with others may view as unfriendly, but I personally appreciate it. I'm not going there to make new friends, I'm there to make a few bucks.
Only reason I'm not giving them a full 5 stars is because of their hours. They're closed before I go into work and closed when I'm off work, the only time I can ever go in is before noon on Saturdays.
I took some high quality extruded aluminum to be recycled, they did not pay the cost for extruded aluminum but paid the lowest price on scrap aluminum. They were rude when I tried to explain that it was worth more.. For Northlanders you can go to Antioch Shopping mall, in the parking lot is a guy who is there certain days of the week and he is friendly, pays better and you don't have to wait in line, then go inside and wait in line again.
