I made an appointment 2 days ahead of time. The time came and went, I heard not a peep. They said they were too busy to honor my reservation and didn’t try to be cordial about it. Very disappointed and will NEVER even consider their services again. I highly recommend not using them for towing as they are very unreliable and unprofessional.
Got stuck in a new car on the side of the road. Was told it was gonna be an hour wait. They showed up 30 minutes early blasting the heat for me! They made me feel so welcomed and taken care of. He even brought his wife and as a younger woman alone that made me feel extremely comfortable and cared for. Thank you Zach! 10000/10 recommend this place.
No photo to share just a comment. Julius from Carls came and towed my car after my accident. He was so calm and polite and definitely saw me at my worst. He recommended a couple of mechanics and gave me their information. The customer service with the office was top notch. If you need a tow, they are the ones to call.
Best svc I've had from any tow company in columbia and I have used everyone several times but carls always seem to be fair show up when they're supposed to and the trucks are CLEAN the trucks all look

Terrible customer service! Dispatcher was extremely rude after requesting a cancellation due to their inability to meet the waiting time. I called at 3:34pm and was told a driver would be to me in less than 30 minutes. I called back at 4:14 and the driver lied saying he was 2-3 minutes and tried talking over me just so he could complete a delivery. Then after I called the dispatch back, her heinous attitude and tone was the worst I’ve ever heard. She told me I would have to pay a cancellation fee (which is false because they did not ensure service like they said) and said they would not be doing business with ME anymore because I found an alternate solution. I would highly recommend not doing business with these people.
Thank you for helping me tow my car at a price I could afford. You can tell that their employees are knowledgeable and care about taking care of you. I don't think my tow was a big deal to them, but I was treated like it was. 5 Star service.

Was locked out of my car overnight but Michael was there no more than 15 minutes after I called and was even nice enough to answer some additional questions I had about my car, he was very knowledgeable and made my experience phenomenal!
Best service I’ve ever dealt with!!!! I was lost when my car wouldn’t start they found out it was the battery and jumped it then followed me to the repair shop. They also found out that the person that changed my oil did something incorrectly that was causing the engine to smoke and fixed it. They were so quick, helpful, and kind I had to hug them after they towed my car.
The'ye either evading taxes which is a fraud or definitely not listen to her customers. The guy that arrives to help us jump the car didn't have receipts for proof of payment. i explain to him that i have to summit to my insurance. The next morning when i called they didnt want to send the email on my name because it was my son that was helping me, who makes the call. Anyhow worse customer service the women on the phone was very rude and refused to send the receipt. I will never use their service.
But im offering to testified for fraud at anytime the feds start investigating them.
My car broke down on the side of the highway and Jeff picked my friend and I up, he was super polite and very helpful despite the fact that I was crying! I would highly recommend using this company, they were there fast and were very reliable. Thank you again Jeff, I appreciate it!
Traveling through town on a trip and my car broke down. Carl's towing service came within a half hour. Quick service, fair pricing, and very friendly. As a young female, I felt safe traveling with for the tow too. Highly recommend!
The only decent thing about Carl’s towing is one driver named Jebb. Jebb was extremely pleasant and kind, friendly and helpful. The manager and another man, whose name I didn’t catch, act as if their customers are peasants. I was told I couldn’t wait for a ride in the office and when I came back for my stuff was asked to leave, despite my insurance having already cleared the vehicle. The manager even brought his wife into the issue, claiming that he can deal with women because he’s married. Extremely unprofessional and I highly do not recommend. Jebb doesn’t deserve them. You can do better, Jebb!
The best part of my journey from Vermont to Kansas in a fully loaded moving truck with my car in tow was it breaking down between Columbia and Kansas City, because Donald from Carl’s Towing came to the rescue. Not only did I get to ride into Kansas in a tractor and did he perfectly park the truck in my driveway, but also Donald is a nice person.
I've used them 3 times in the last 8 months. Their prices have always beat all the other towing companies I've called. From the 1st phone call up to delivering my vehicles to their destinations the prompt and friendly service has been nothing but top quality.
We had our truck towed from Concordia,mo to Columbia,mo on 11-29-19. Carl's was quick to pick us up and the price of the tow was very reasonable. I would definitely recommend them and will probably use them again in the future since I drive a Freightliner lol!
These guys are so awesome. We hit a deer near Lake of the Woods on Saturday, October 26, 2019 near midnight returning to KC after attending a wedding in STL. Kevin Wolfe was polite, prompt and incredibly reasonable. We had to have our car towed all the way home (133 miles) and Kevin told me it was no problem (even on a SUNDAY) and Mike, the tow driver, was so careful loading our car and then he even called me to tell me he had delivered it to the place we requested, it was locked up and the keys dropped. When I went to the body shop to retrieve some items left in the car the shop told me Mike had even left them a message about the details. I cannot recommend Carl's Towing enough. Thanks guys!

Avoid if you aren't a car person or are female, these people definitely have a chip on their shoulder. Unfortunately my use of Carl's was involuntary through the city so maybe they treat their voluntary customers better but I wouldn't risk it. It wasn't even that it was just one employee either, I came in towards the end of the day (I understand stressful for the employees) but apparently being a college kid was a mortal sin. I should have lodged a complaint with the city to terminate their contract at the time but having just been in an accident was preoccupied.
For context my experience was so bad that now, years later when I am looking up towing services, I feel it is my duty to warn someone.
With the twenty something inches of snow we got this last winter we got caught in a spot we didn't want to be. Carl's towing got us fixed up in no time. Nice guys and an attention to detail.
Carl's towing is the best. When I broke a clamp on my radiator hose and needed a tow to replace it, on a Sunday morning, they were there in less than 20 minutes to tow it over 20 miles. And their rates are excellent. Highly recommended!
I have Aaa. My svc was fast and a good experience I've had to deal with other Aaa companies in town their truck were DIRTY AND THE DRIVERS DIDNT SEEM TO KNOW WHAT THEYRE DOING SO I ONLY USE Carl's Towing.
Called Carl's directly when my car wouldn't start. They came quickly as promised and jump started my car. They were professional and helpful and the cost was very reasonable. Hope not to need to call again, but would definitely call Carl's if I need emergency auto service.
This company has your best interests at heart. AAA contacted them for me and they responded quickly and arrived in about 15 minutes from the call. I had the pleasure to do business with Devon, the night manager if I recall correctly, and he eased our worries about the situation. "Honesty is the best policy." Thank you for the great service!
On a separate occasion (Nov. 2015), my other car would not start. AAA once again referred me to Carl's Towing & Recovery and I had the pleasure to meet Robert. He diagnosed the problem to be the battery terminal that was installed by another (chain) store. I can tell he wanted to help by how much he was thinking about the problem (battery, starter, ignition, etc...). So a >$200 problem was actually a simple $6 fix thanks to him. Once again, I recommend their service based on my experiences.
This is most courteous, caring and respectful tow company in the area. Hands down.
Last night I was en route to my apartment in my girlfriend's car after dropping her off at a friend's house when I ran over an enormous pothole (at least 6-8" in depth) on Locus St. (If someone in charge of Columbia roadways is reading this, please get this filled/fixed... It is barely visible at night and far too deep to disregard). She drives a coupe with very little ground clearance; not to mention some really skinny tires. Naturally, I blew out both both the front left and back left tires. I slowly made my way to a nearby gas station where I called AAA. They referred me to Carl's Towing, as they are a AAA-certified tow service. I was lucky enough to have Devon (the night manager) come to my rescue and provide assistance. However, I was entirely unprepared for the incredible amount of assistance he would actually provide. Devon took an outrageously stressful situation and turned it right-side up. He quickly made the car tow-worthy, hooked me up to his truck and towed me back to their shop. With the help of his co-worker, Robert, they went above and beyond to find any possible avenue they could to circumvent the expensive and seemingly inevitable new purchase I was going to have to make on new tires. Miraculously, they were able to salvage two matching tires from an identical vehicle that had been sitting ( in what I would describe as their accident-involved vehicle lot) for at least two years, rusting away and totaled. They said they wanted to "set me up good" and that is just what they did. They aired them up, mounted them, and off I went back home in a car that was originally destined for an auto repair shop. The best part about it was that I didn't pay a thing, when I easily could have been looking at $400 or more in the hole in the next 48 hours following last night's incident. Because of these guys, she now has a drivable car and will be able to see her family for Easter.
There is a lot to be said for this kind of unwavering service in today's world; people just don't jump through hoops for you like they used to (especially if they don't have to). Fortunately, there are guys like Devon, Robert and all the great staff at Carl's Towing who work tirelessly (no pun intended) to make sure some of life's stressors are easier to bear. It goes without saying that they have definitely earned my endorsement.
