Those five star reviews have to be fake. I just got off the phone with them. They wanted $95 for a alternator adjustment bracket. They said that was their minimum charge because this is the US. One of the worst companies I have ever interacted with and that saying something.

I bought window glass from A-1 and was very satisfied with the service.. The care taken to ship safely was on point Thank you A-1 auto salvage other places wouldn't ship at all to me but I knew if package correctly it would work and it did ..I would recommend this place to anyone.

They sell junk. Then they won’t warranty what they sell. Very rude! Would not recommend doing business with them! Nice on phone when you are ready to purchase an item, as soon as they have to warranty it they are rude and absolutely no return of money. Won’t even send you another part. Fake auto recyclers! Just a scrap yard of unusable junk.

Very much so rude I don't know what they were fighting about before I got there but the older lady is so rude I just came to get a window not disrespected I'm 9months pregnant all I ask was if I one of the guys could bring the window to my car and she sat my window on the ground and walked off it was just sad seriously

The lady that answered the phone was extremely rude when I asked if they had a part….this will run your business down. No customer wants to contact a place of business & be treated as if you were bothering them. I’m head to BBB next because I do not take poor customer service lightly. Shop elsewhere. If you’re in Columbia I recommend Yancy’s or Sorrels. I don’t know why I even bothered because this place has bad reviews. Stop supporting business that don’t respect customers.

50% of their tire stock is complete garbage. These guys are scammers as they dont help or correct you buying unusable tires or the wrong kind. Every mechanic in town has stories about a-1 customers being upset (mulitiple every week) Yancies or firestone are way better for tires

Every time I go, they are rude and act like I owe them gratitude for their service. I bought a part, the wrong one, no refund or exchange. The old lady in the office was real bitter like I made her work, or maybe she did not have a brush for her mop of a hair do. When I explained the issue, she mumbled and continued moving papers from one stack to another, then moved the same papers to the stack it came from. Multiple people have said their service sucks.

After texting because they won’t answer the phone, I showed up only to be called a liar in front of another customer about how I never asked for a mirror. I clearly did three messages up. She was very rude. I won’t ever go back. She could have just said they didn’t have one instead of pretending like what clearly happened didn’t.

Came here earlier today for an emergency tire and rim replacement, they did it very efficiently and for a fair price so we could get back on the road home. First tire ended up being a little rotted so we brought it back and they replaced it for free for us, amazing customer service great people all around

I was brokenhearted after cracking a tail light lens on my 1992 Mustang LX 5.0. A local salvage yard in the STL area referred me to A-1 Auto Recyclers in Columbia, MO. I spent about 1 minute on the phone with Lynn to place my order. Less than 24 hours later, UPS had delivered the part and I had it on the car. Great, no-hassle service!

If only there was an option for zero stars… I called them over the phone, to ask them a few questions, the lady was extremely rude with answering. We live about two hours away, and when we arrived to pick up the car parts, the ladies at the desk were extremely rude and said that they can’t help us and that we should to get lost. Saying they would give us a call tomorrow about the part that already existed in their inventory for which we came to pick up. When we asked to check the condition of the car part, they wouldn’t let us examine it and When we also explained that we live out of town and that when they would call us to pick up the parts, their establishment would already be closed, when hearing that, they replied that they couldn’t care less, and that they would put it outside of the store and it would be on us if that part would go missing. Don’t waste your time going there. Good luck!

Ok I purchased an old part that i haven't been able to find anywhere and made the buy without reading the reviews !! So I was sick when I read all the negative reviews and thought I would never receive the the part . Well then I read the reviews closer and realized that they were all by customers who wanted refunds when clearly they have never purchased used parts before and were expecting to get a pristine part for nothing and bragg too everyone how they got over on this yard for their part ! Well I was in Texas and had never bought anything fromthem and as far as they knew i would never buy anything again so they had no reason to be special to me ! So I received the part before i expected it and it was more than just the part I ordered ! It had allbthe electronics still attached and in good shape so just take what these people say and see why and know that I have no reason to deffend them other than the fact that i got my very hard to find rare part without any rudeness or disrespect soif i could give 100 stars I would !

I can see how this could be frustrating I purchased some items and was told they'd be ready the next day and then was told the next day that I might not get them for two or three more days but they did pull through and get them almost in the exact time frame that I was given in the first place that being said if you need the part immediately don't drive up here expecting to get it call ahead and order it and I'll have it ready for you and let you know when it's ready to be picked up No refunds but there is a warranty and swap policy I'll make sure you have all your information correct and the invoice they give you before you pay your bill has the VIN number of the car they pulled the parts from so you can verify that everything matches and they have a very extensive inventory Lynn is a person just like anybody else and she treated me with respect even when I got a little bit rude and upset I would come back to this business again just not if I'm in a hurry I wish I knew about the no refund policy before I paid for everything up front and I wish I knew that it was not a same day service most of the time

Had a totaled car taken away and Wes arrived quickly. He was very polite and professional and I appreciated his care in getting the car pulled out. The lady I originally spoke with was very courteous and informative. Overall, I'd be happy to do business with A1 again.

I called asking about seatbelts for my infinity. The lady looked them up and said $110 each. I said wow thank you and hung up because I wasn't expecting them to be that much. I looked them up online e for new ones and they were only $75 each. So I called back a d ask if maybe she ment $110 for both. She said no so I ask why so much because they are only $75 new. She said that was just what they charged. So I hung up and called K&M. They sold me a set for $30 if I came and took them out myself. Thank you K&M

Parts were purchased. Found out the vehicle was not worth fixing after the fact.. Never received the parts. Never received a invoice. But the lady refuses to refund the money. She wants to keep half the money to ship back said parts. When we were told all parts but 1 was sitting at their lot. So they get to keep the parts as well as the money. Pretty messed up. Not here to help the public. Sounds like we got robbed

called and was quoted 200 for a seat. called back and offered 150 cash. said ok then called back and said no it is 200. went today and picked up and now 212 as i have to pay tax when she said 200 cash. Had left a message i want bolts and caps also. She said they dont use phone messages. If i had not driven 80 miles i would have left. Rude and act like they are doing you a favor. I dont plan to go back there!!

I’m thankful and glad they were able to track down the part I needed and for waayyy cheaper than anywhere else. With that being said, when I went in to pick up my part, they had charged me an extra amount because I didn’t bring the old part in. There was NEVER anything said about bringing the old part in, and there were multiple phone conversations had. Make sure you ask about this because they NEVER TOLD ME.

I called to inquire about a wheel they had in stock according to the website. I had a woman who picked up, who shouldn't be working there because she was rude and not helpful. I wanted to verify it was the wheel I was looking for so I asked if they could send me a picture first. She said no, but I could send my own picture so THEY could verify it was the wheel. I said that was fine, but more importantly, this wheel I needed comes with a center cap, making it a two piece wheel, so I wanted to know that they wheel they had was 2-piece, not just the core. She told me SHE WOULD NOT VERIFY THE CENTER CAP. So I asked her what exactly as she going to verify then? She hung up on me for doing my due diligence.

The lady. From the comments on here, there's obviously a disconnect between the kind of people who post negative reviews on their cheap Android phone and the type of people who deal with junkyards. Do your research beforehand and take apart your stuff. Make a list and go over it twice. Then call or show up straight and to the point. They won't haggle and assume you know what you're doing. You'll be treated differently for sure. As far as salvage business goes, they've saved me some money, and that's why I use them.

I work at another salvage yard, I asked Lynne to give me a price for a fuel tank; priced with shipping to my yard. She gave me an estimated price of $185. $85 for the part, $100 for the shipping. Okay, great! She then comes back saying she guessed wrong, and the price for shipping alone will be $110. Sure. I understand, still give her the okay to send it, even though my company will lose money on this deal. Customer needs it. She then comes back later telling me that she was wrong - AGAIN! - and shipping is now $175 alone! I understand over-sized parts cost a lot to ship, but she admitted that SHE was wrong with her QUOTE, no longer an ESTIMATE and refused to honor her QUOTED price. I have told every one of my 10 other salesmen to not use them in future! Absolutely unreal. As a salesperson myself, I would have honored my quote, and taken the hit on the shipping cost.

Ordered a valve cover late Friday morning said I would have it Friday afternoon. Called 30mins before close was told because of the rain it was delayed and told I’d have it first thing Monday morning. They open at 9am called at 11am haven’t pulled it. Waited til 430pm, hour before close yet still haven’t been pulled after I’ve been told multiple different times it’ll be ready. Valve covers only have 5 bolts right on top of the motor a 10mins job really but quoted half a day. They charge double the price and time sorrels quoted and refused a refund on a part I still haven’t received and haven’t pulled. 100% DO NOT RECOMMEND!!. very unprofessional. VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. Go to sorrels.

I needed an intake manifold for my '99 F-150, 5.4 motor. They claimed to have one and I made the 2 hour drive to pick it up. I read some negative reviews about an older lady that worked there and how nasty she was to customers so I was extremely nice to her. The manifold was not even close to what I needed. She took the number off the picture of mine, looked it up and said I had a 4.6 motor not a 5.4. I knew differently and when I said I had a 5.4 she actually yelled at me that I had a 4.6. To make a long story short I left, went to a reputable salvage yard and found out the '99 intake was different from all others and indeed I had a 5.4 as my VIN showed. I now agree, don't waste your time or money at A-1. BTW she was asking $220, I purchased the correct part for $85. Beware.

purchased a transmission , received the incorrect transmission as pictures clearly show. A- 1 refused to supply a return tag. do not waste your $$. overcharged initial shipping by over $100.00 and would not refund the actual shipping difference . this company must enjoy ripping off customers. there are many junk yards, do yourself a favor and visit other yards,

Price given on phone was not what they gave me. She cut me a check for $50 less and then when I asked about it she just said, "Yea, the price went down." After hearing them complain about a customer who "will just have another argument". It may only be $50 but I could really use it. They were quick to pick it up, but failed to call and let me know that they did.

We went in and dealt with Lynne, and she is rude and has the worst customer service. I sat in the office for 30 minutes and watched her slam phones and snap at the receiving end. She's quick to answer her own personal phone before answering the company phone. Also telling them to hold, and hanging up the phone. As well as when my uncle asked her a simple question about the item she raised her voice and was very rude and snappy.

Poor, not fair. Terrible. Wouldn't recommend to anyone. The lady was so quick to swipe my card, and guess what? No return policy, I haven't even seen the part I paid for 2 days ago, and now that I don't want the part anymore they won't even refund it. To top it off, one of the dogs in the office tore a hole in my pants while I was waiting for the clerk to get off the phone. Such a horrible experience. Please don't go here. I'm now talking to an attorney and the police to try to solve the problem fairly.

Worst customer service ever I ordered a front bumper and when I received it I got no bolts to mount it. I called and talked to manager Lynne and asked about it she said she would call me back I never got a call. I called the next day and same b.s. No call back. I paid way too much for a bumper not to receive the bolts. Worst service ever I'm contacting better business bureau and filling a complaint maybe then they'll care a little more about there customer. I'd recommend don't buy from these people!!! Worst service ever!!!!

Intersting to see negative reviews. I found an old and obscure part at A-1 on "the network" and called about it. They were quite helpful, the lady was concerned that it might not be the correct part - didn't want to sell me the wrong thing, so she sent me a photo so we could be sure. They accepted the price I offered and (they shipped it) it arrived quickly, in good shape, and with the extras... just like I asked. Perfect.

Do NOT purchase from this SHEISTY business!!! Claimed they had car part in stock & quickly took credit card info. Took weeks & multiple calls to finally receive the wrong part. Lynne insisted she sent part we ordered & never promised the right color & model. Told me "just try to dispute credit card charge. We have no return policy." Had to take pictures of our part vs. her part to prove not same, e-mail & call multiple times after told she didn't receive e-mail. Had to send back part certified mail to prove she received the part back. Finally after so much hassle, got refund for part price - out the $15.00 paid to ship me wrong part and the $9.05 to ship back. Very hostile, no customer service skills and uncooperative - and in the end out $24 and still don't have my car part! Save yourself time, money and aggravation - Do NOT bother!!!
