Great group of people they have there at Tom's. Took my Corvette in for some issues I was having. Fender is exceptional at what he does. Honest as well. Very transparent about what needs to be done with the best course of action to be taken. Would recommend.
I recently bought a used Fiat but prior to the purchase searched for a business in Columbia who could work on Fiats. I called one shop & they responded in a ho-hum manner. Then I called Tom’s Imports & they were very excited for me & very enthusiastic about being able to care for my Fiat in any way I needed. So today I brought my car in to see if I could get several minor issues dealt with. They either got the problems fixed or ordered parts to fix them on my next visit. I asked numerous questions about what kind of shape the car was in mechanically. They took the time to thoroughly answer my inquiries. The people that run this shop are some of the nicest & most honest that I have ever met, especially in the car repair & maintenance industry. As a single female those qualities are extremely important to me. They will give you straight up answers & not try to sell you on services you don’t need like many shops do. I could not recommend this group any higher!! They are absolutely 5 star!! I am so grateful to have found them. If you need servicing of any kind on an import, go see Tom’s Imports. You won’t be disappointed!! I promise.
My service was great! They were friendly and greeted me when I walked in. They got me right in for my appointment. They got my car diagnosed and gave me a detailed explanation of everything they did in a timely manner. The staff were great all the way around. They answered all of my questions and were extremely nice. All around 10/10!
Reliable shop, very accommodating. Although there were some initial hiccups getting the part in, Tom’s was very communicative and made it right, as well as resolved the issue entirely!
We were traveling to Columbia from Pennsylvania for the Thanksgiving weekend and noticed an increasing noise in our rear wheels. It was really bothering me so I googled and stopped by Tom's in the early afternoon on Friday after the holiday. Within minutes, the GM took my SUV for a test drive, and confirmed my fears that I had a bad rear bearing. It turned out that BOTH were about shot. They understood my situation and that we were returning to PA on Sunday. They were open and completely repaired my vehicle by noon on Saturday. I was not only unbelievably impressed that they diagnosed it and were willing to fix it ASAP... but despite being a desperate traveler who could have been really screwed because I had no other options... these folks gave me an honest quote, repaired my vehicle and got me back on the road for MUCH MUCH LESS than I ever expected. Fender, Emily, Shawn and the techs, I thank you all for your hospitality, concern, fantastic, accurate, and rapid repair; and most of all, your honesty. Thank you so much for saving me and my family from a potentially life- threatening situation while driving home. I was blessed that we had the encounter that we did. Was great service, friendly and helpful! My heater/ac motor went out! Was able to get it looked at and fixed in the same day! Wasn't even close to as expensive as other places wanted.
Came in for an oil change, they got me right in and were very kind and helpful. I have had multiple performance and regular cars and have been to 100’s of shops being from Chicago. Compared to other shops in Columbia, this shop is the only shop I would ever go to in Columbia. Other shops overcharge, have zero clue what they’re talking you about and at the end of the day. They do not perform professional work on your car hence it having to go back. These guys take pride in their work and are genuine American people. Don’t second guess yourself about getting your car worked on here, it will be done right!
Called in for safety inspection they got me in right away very respectful and answered any questions. Afterwards I noticed they wanted to repair the 4 wheel drive on my truck that doesn’t exist also noticed a few things that said where checked like tire psi was incorrect and my coolant was empty idk if it was intentional but just kinda feel like it was made up issues. Seem sketchy in retrospect

Absolutely amazing!!! I'm in a very tough financial spot, had a friend pay for my repairs. When the techs discovered additional problems that required immediate repair, I got nervous. They did the repairs at cost for the parts. I will NEVER go any other place ever again for repairs!! Emily, Fender and Shane are amazing!!!
Fender and Emily were amazing people who took great care of me at Tom’s today. They helped me understand the ins and outs of what was wrong with my car and understand why things costed the way they did. Traveling through town recently and stopped by Tom’s imports for a concerning noise our car was making. The staff were extremely friendly! Fender, a mechanic there came out and listened to my concern and was able to point it out and of course it was something simple that had me concerned. Very friendly and didn’t charge me a dime!
Tom’s Auto has taken wonderful care of our cars over the years. They’ve worked on both our Audi A4 and Volvo S60, and their service has consistently been thorough, fair, and reliable. On New Year’s Eve, our Volvo stopped running at a gas station. Even with the holiday timing, they got the car in quickly, diagnosed the issue, and had it repaired and back to us by January 2nd. That kind of responsiveness and dedication is increasingly rare. Our Audi had ongoing electrical issues that multiple other shops struggled to identify. Fender at Tom’s Auto took the time to perform a detailed diagnostic and correctly pinpointed the gateway as the issue.
While the quality of their work is outstanding, what has meant the most to me is how they treat my daughter. She attends Mizzou, and knowing that Tom’s is there to help her if she has any car trouble brings so much peace of mind. They are patient, respectful, and truly customer-focused.

Toms auto and imports is my go to shop in town with me having a VW. The staff is always responsive and helpful and with an appointment they can get me in and out quickly! If you have a foreign vehicle I recommend this place for sure!

I had the opportunity to meet the new owner, who presented himself as a pleasant individual. The ongoing remodeling suggests that the forthcoming changes will be beneficial.
This place is great! They noted with my oil change a few things that needed done and provided an estimate. They were really nice about it and I didn't feel pressured at all! I went ahead had them replace some parts and I was happy with the whole experience. The front desk staff and the mechanic I talked to were really cool! They will be my go-to garage now! Five stars because it won't go higher!
A friend suggested Toms Auto and Imports in Columbia so I brought my Nissan Juke here for general maintenance and brakes.The staff were very knowledgeable and friendly. They explained all the work my car needed and provided an estimate. Their estimate was much better than a few other places when I checked around. I am happy with the work completed and will definitely be coming back here for future maintenance! I highly recommend them!
The staff here is always very professional and pleasant to work with. They were great about giving me an estimate in a timely manner and kept me updated on the progress of my Jeep. The mechanic took the time to explain everything to me in a way I could understand and answered all my questions. They are also fair priced for the area which is very important to me! I was very happy with the repairs and the whole overall experience! I will continue to bring my vehicles here and I will definitely recommend them to everyone!
I took my car to Tom’s Imports for a second opinion. I already knew I needed rear brakes, but another shop (whose name rhymes with “Traza Fires”) told me I also needed a right CV joint because it was “slinging grease.” Their estimate? Another $500 for the joint, bringing the total to about $1,000.
The team at Tom’s checked everything thoroughly and even let me see for myself that both of my CV joints were perfectly fine. They even let me take pictures for peace of mind. After replacing just the rear brakes, my total bill was $400—saving me $600 compared to the other shop’s quote.

Just had some work done on my car here and needed a shop that worked on Euro cars. Was dreading having to make the long drive towards St. Louis and found Tom's in CoMo. I met four of the staff and everyone was personable and helpful. They kept me updated and got my car in and out in a reasonable time frame. 5 stars
I bought my wife a slightly uses Audi Q7. the air conditioner went. I had purchased the extended warranty so I was covered took it to Tom’s they got the repair going and thought I need a software update so I had to take it to STL Audi dealer they couldn’t fix it. I took it back to Tom’s and they spent 6 hours chasing down a short in air system fixed it and didn’t charge me a penny more! Fender and his team are amazing Emily up front is always super nice!! If you have German car take it to Tom’s they know more than the dealers and will work with you to get it done right!
I spent almost about $6,700 and nothing was truly fixed - not even a headlight. This place is a true scam. Please take heed & save your money. I recommend finding some place else, if your vehicle is there awaiting services -RUN don't walk to get it and take it to Jefferson City or another place in town if you possible.
I would give Tom's Auto 10 stars, but they only allow 5. I moved to Columbia Missouri 4 years ago, and the one thing that is really challenging, is to find a mechanic you can trust, and at Tom's I got that and so much more. The manager Fender, stepped up taking care of my mechanical nightmare I was facing. Following his recommendation on my pickup, he remedied my issues, paying close attention to every detail. He kept me in constant contact by texting the entire time. If you live in or around Columbia Missouri, please give Tom's Auto your trust, I promise you won't be disappointed. My experience at Tom’s Imports went very well. The auto-technicians kept me up to date on any issue. The customer service was great at the counter from beginning to end. Also they got my vehicle squared away at a reasonable labor rate and labor time .
