Nothing. This place could potentially be great but everything is a mess, which normally wouldn't bother me but the prices were extremely high. If I have to dig for things I expect a little lower price. Ceilings leaking all over the place. Yuck.

This place is massive, ally of stuff. If you are interested in visiting give yourself at least a hour. That's just how much they have.

They have just about everything! Great place to shop for antiques, books, furniture, glassware, & doors.

I made a review years ago and I want to update my review. First and foremost they have lots of good stuff but it is a bit pricey for it to be very dirty and most of the time broken. The older guy (sorry but I’m terrible with names) is nice and he is helpful. Then there’s this one woman that works there. Darker headed, always wears sandals. She is very rude to the customers. She will say something mean to you and then hide before you can talk back. I hate to leave this review because I do love coming over there and getting good stuff but the least she can do is go around and dust stuff off instead of walking around doing nothing and talking bad to people.

Friendly staff but the store looked like a place where antiques and other items come to die. Not all bad though, you really have to have plenty of time to look through everything. Items were marked up ridiculously high compared to better antique stores I have been to, even items that were not antiques If it weren't for the friendly staff I would have to give it one star. I don't think I will return.

It seemed more like an overpriced thrift store than an antique store. I went in with my daughter, and immediately noticed owners are too cheap to turn on heat for customers. (It was 38 outside). Just more money-hungry people.

Everything is well overpriced. Even literal water damaged cardboard is $35 at this place. You would imagine that the owner would expect bartering. Considering the very marked up prices. Nothing could be farther from the truth. In fact the owner almost seems angry when someone tries to negotiate a reasonable price. My guess as to why they still have so much stuff. To add further insult they have a large section of their store that has been constantly rained on and have done nothing to correct the prices of said items. Even items with clear damage. Greedy, and angry is how I'd describe the man. Interesting items , just don't expect to buy anything.

If you're in Hattiesburg and looking for the best antique shop, look no further than Marketplace Antiques! A young, curious me set foot in this store years ago for a “Quick Look” and hours later I left, transformed into an antique enthusiast. After recently purchasing from both Marketplace and Lucky Rabbit, I can confidently say that Marketplace is the place to go. While I used to enjoy Lucky Rabbit, and still admire their displays and photo ops, my recent experience there was disappointing, as it seems they've lost that personal touch. In contrast, Marketplace Antiques consistently impresses. Their selection is extensive and diverse, offering everything you could possibly want. The staff is incredibly friendly and always ready to help. Their book collection is particularly noteworthy, featuring a library of over 82,000 unique finds. This time I decided to purchase nat geo magazines that were printed in the month and year of each of my family members month and year of birth. So fun! With one-of-a-kind pieces scattered throughout the store, you could easily spend hours exploring. Make sure to carve out plenty of time for your visit—you won't regret it!

This place used to be a nice place. Now it’s a total disgusting mess. Rat crap on everything. Stinks like sewer and the bathroom is disgusting. Way overpriced as well. This place needs to go back in time and clean up and organize it.

It's HUUUGGEEEE!!!! DEFINITELY GO! You'll see so much cool stuff. It's hot though, bring a fan.

The place is huge and full of interesting things. The only problem is it's not well organized and it was very warm inside the building. We would have stayed longer but it was just too hot inside. There are multiple rooms of stuff and the place just keeps going. We will probably go back on a cooler day to try and explore it some more. Hope they get things better organized and easier to see. A plethora of books and videos at the store

For being an out of towner. This place was pretty cool, but it was hard to breathe in. The ceiling is pretty bad, and it smells like mold, but there were a lot of different sellers and items to look at. It is very overwhelming for an OCD type of person.

At first I was excited to see how big it was and how much there was. Then I started to check a few prices and had to scoff - about the same I could get it new. Then, as I went further back, the piles of dirty & rusted junk began to overwhelm. Finally, as I was dodging the fifth grouping of water buckets catching leaks from the roof I looked up and saw all the water damage and mold. It was just too nasty. Won't be back.

Checked out the store today after visiting a couple others around Hattiesburg. The back room, where large furniture is kept, has multiple parts of the ceiling missing. There are trash cans, tubs, and buckets placed around the floor to collect the massive amounts of rain pouring through the ceiling. The room was also very cold, as it was a cold day, and the ceiling is partially missing. I still continued to browse their products and actually found two items I was interested in—neither had a price labeled on them. I went to check out and the female at the register acted as though it was my fault there was not a price (most items in the store do not have a labeled price). She then ignored me and got on her cell phone, where I assume she was on EBay or some other internet competitor they probably complain about all the time. She waited for her husband to finish his conversation with another customer, then asked what she should charge for the items. He said $12 for both items, which I reluctantly agreed to. Then, the wife interrupted and said “oh I found it” and showed the man her phone screen, saying “it’s going for $26.” The man then told me “so it’s going to be $26 for this one and she’ll have to find the other.” I confirmed that the man just raised the price by $14 after looking online (because he is unfamiliar with the products he sells to people) to which he confirmed and I left. Very unprofessional, dismissive, low-down, and unsafe business practices at this establishment. I can recommend—LITERALLY—every antique store within 100 miles other than this one.

Great place with a lot to look at! Easy to negotiate with and came home with some great wrought iron!

There is a lot of stuff here. Took me a while to get through the whole place. A large amount of books and old records. There's bound to be something of interrest.

My favorite antique mall! This place is massive and always has interesting things to sift through. I could spend a whole weekend in here and never get bored. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the prices are usually pretty great! Some of my most prized possessions have come from this place! And if you're a bookworm, I'd suggest you clear your schedule for a few weekends- the book section is absolutely insane, I get lost in the maze every time!

Nice place, but most of the items in the store are way way too overpriced!! Hard to find something that is reasonably priced. Has some nice stuff, just wish that it wasn't so freaking expensive!!

I would not shop here again, the presence of mold (all kinds mind you) is astounding. The buildings is quite literally falling apart; ceilings has caved in, 50+ spots are leaking, some walls are also falling inward. The insulation (when falling out of the ceiling) is COVERED in mold. The book section was great, except the part where there are spots that were leaking and ruining some of the books. Almost every book I picked up had some sort of book rot/mold just from the weather conditions. Furthermore, alot of things in the store are grossly overpriced. DO NOT go into this building without a mask, it’s an extreme health risk and I do think a code inspector should close it down.

I’ve come here for years and it’s a great place to explore on a Sunday afternoon. As others have said, pricing can be hit or miss. For example, they wanted over $200 for a book (which I thought was marked around $20?) that I bought on eBay for $25 immediately after leaving the store. Definitely do a little research before settling on their price.

The front of the store is somewhat more organized than the back but it’s a tripping hazard everywhere and not accessible for people in wheel chairs. You’ll be sweating as there’s just big fans scattered here and there. Prices are waaaay to high especially for broken items :’(

OMG - this is 53,000 square feet of antiques, flea market finds, and hoarding! Thousands of books, albums and DVDs.

They have a massive amount of products! So many books I have spent literally over an hour plundering their selection on more than one trip! Their prices are sometimes a little high, but there's is still PLENTY of products at great prices! One of the owners is a goofy (albeit little odd) kind man. He enjoys talking to people, and can come off as peculiar, but he is in fact quite pleasant to speak with, and you quickly realize his "odd" personality is quite endearing! I highly recommend visiting, especially Sunday when books half off!

Very large. Huge selection of baseball, football, and basketball cards! 5/21/22. Made return trip and were not disappointed. Son got a great deal on some basketball cards! They also have a very large selection of books.

Everyone working there was really sweet so this isn’t a negative review against them personally. The negativity comes more from the pricing of the items. Two things really gave me a good indication early as to how overpriced things were here. Every dvd being priced at $7 was the first sign that they were really unrealistic about their stock. I’ve personally never been to a antique shop where used dvds were more than $2-3 a piece. The second warning sign was how they price their graphic novels. As one of the owners explained to me “all books are half off on Saturday and Sunday we take half off (points to the MSRP on the back of the used graphic novel) this price on the weekend. That kind of blew my mind that that’s how they price their items. Does that mean during the week he charges people the MSRP?! I presented a small binder with 20 pages of very random trading cards and wanted to know the price since it wasn’t listed. I’m assuming it was the owner took the book, flipped through it and threw out a price of $25 because (I see it has a couple marvel and DC trading cards in it). It was a binder of extremely random, no complete sets of cards from the 90s. I asked if I could take the cards I want and just be charged for the sheets separately to which he replied I could but it would cost more. It was kind of amazing to see him make a potential sale so difficult when the fact is that he held maybe $10 worth of stuff in his hands and something that will continue taking up room for years to come. For being a antique store that’s is overflowing with items they don’t really seem to be in any hurry to sell stuff.
