This place sucks. This is the third time I've been there when they are supposed to be open and they're closed. So I've loaded all this stuff up for nothing, wasted gas, now I have to go unload it. It's not bad enough they rip you off and pay you the least amount around now they make you waste your time and money cause they close early. I even called last time to be sure they was open and was told they were get there and it was closed.
I would give negative points if that were an option. After doing business with these people for more than 2 years, I brought to their attention something was left off of my slip. The responses were "if it's not on the slip you didn't have it" and " if the ticket has already been paid there's nothing we can do about it ". They have hundred of cameras and no one could be bothered. I'm still waiting for a supervisor to call me UPDATE: It's been over a week. I contacted corporate office in California by email and within an hour I received an email from the general manager of the Hattiesburg facility letting me know that he would look into and get back with me after I provided a copy of my receipt. Still haven't heard from him even after calling and emailing him a few times. I'll keep you posted...12/16/24 was finally paid for my material after having to contact corporate office in California 5x. WOW!!!
They have a habit of switching things up on you ..... example..was told all tubing was considered #1 copper except if it has solider on it ..was told house fire electric motors would still be considered as CBM..tubing was wrote as #2 ..CBM was wrote as plan old junk...they have done this twice to me and even shorted my wife on the scales ..said the #1 copper she went with was #2 B grade and was only 4lbs ....will be going to Coast from now on ...update.6.22.24...people have gotten alot nicer..my product isnt judged as harshly as it use to be..I've developed a customer relationship with the man checking me in..in developing that relationship it's gotten a lot better ..very pleased with the service there now
Took in 2000 pounds of ten for 25$ that is robbery the prices constantly change witch I get but they never really go up just keep getting lower and lower 3 months ago yalls ten was 8or9$ a hundred now’s it’s 5$ and steadily going down like really people yall send this across seas and that 2000pounds I sold yall. yall are gonna make a killing off of this business has went down hill like 4 years ago they got bought out by Mexicans and now the prices for everything there is low even the good stuff like copper and brass #1 copper is 1.40$ per pound #2 is 1$ plus they give there personal friends deals that other people won’t get I live like 5 blocks from this place and I can they suck and will rob you and won’t fill bad for it either and we don’t even want to talk about the brass prices there sad this place really needs to go back to the people that use to own it they done good proper business These people would try to rob every person that comes through there trust me been going there for almost 20 years not anymore
Drove in the wrong entrance--a bit confusing for first time users. I asked directions from a man who worked there and he was nice. Went to where he said. I drove into a building, stopped at the stop sign, but no one was there. A man came out said what I think was "c'mon," (also seemed nice). I guess my solid-copper, 37 year-old dormers were only graded Class B because they weren't bright copper. They took two photos of me (for scrap metal! but later learned they must have a problem with people who don't own whatever they turn in) and a copy of my driver's license. It was $30 less than expected, but it did get my old dormers, which were left over after getting a new roof, out of my backyard. Glad they're gone. My wife got the check of course. :(
We loaded a full trailer in the pouring rain and called to make sure they'd take us before heading that way all the way from Columbia and got there at 11:43. They said as long as we got there before 11:45 they'd take us, but refused after we came all the way out and made it early. They aren't supposed to close until 12. She shouldn't have told us to come on and that they'd take us if we made it before 11:45 if they weren't going to. This was unprofessional, lazy, and inconsiderate. Should have listened to the other reviews before wasting my entire day. And we reminded them what they told us on the phone and they just told us it was too bad. Wasted my entire day because someone didn't want to do their job for five more minutes. We won't be coming back here.
Whatch your tickets of what they buy your metal for I brought in 191 pounds of clean #1 copper and this place paid me for dirty #2 and refused to give me a reason to why.
Make sure you add your tickets up, and count your money before you leave the office. My dad has been hauling scrap metal here for years. My niece took him yesterday. First.... nobody helped them unload. My dad is 81, and doesn't get around well anymore. When he got back in the truck after getting his money he realized he was short about $30. When my niece went back in with his tickets to ask about it the lady was very rude to her. She told her it all adds up in a nasty tone. She wouldn't even let my niece ask a question. Rude as hell, and shorting an elderly man on his money. Not good business practices!!!
They'll buy your scrap. They may beat another yard, here or there, on price. Don't count on it.
They beat my go-to yard on ONE price, ONE time. Expect to have your copper devalued & #1 called #2 or "B grade." "B grade" seems to be a euphemism for, "I don't want to pay you what this is really worth."
The guys there were polite and swift. I have no complaints. It being my first time there, they also gave me directions on where to go afterwards. Great team.
Essay recycling was very unprofessional that a computer failure when we were there and most likely it was them wanting to close up and leave for the day anybody else looking to recycle anything last minute I suggest you get some boxes for free from the USPS and send your items to Rockaway recycling in New Jersey or try entering recycling in foxworth.
The line was horrible they need to figure out a easier way to do things didn't like it at all then when u get to drop it off u have to go park and go around stand in another line and wait for ur money it's just to much
Their money is no good no cash on hand and you can't cash the check till after hours I'll drag close to Wiggins or the coast before I ever deal with these people again
They have rude individuals working as you enter the scrap yard. Told me a clean lawn mower deck is tin & he didnt have time to tell me the difference. The girl that ansrs the phone when i called to get the inspectors name she said he wasnt rude. That would be a matter of opinion. Theres other places to go in hburg! They can improve their customer service or find their customers goin elsewhere.
