Called to get an estimate and after finding out the rates, I kindly declined and stated I would call back if I need them but the representative just hung up quickly without even letting me finish. Will never use budget towing again.

Friendly and prompt service to get an illegally parked vehicle from our lot. Highly recommend Budget Towing!

Called for a quote and was told ( by Roy) 220.00 plus tax giving exact addresses ( 200.00 plus tax if paid with cash) , told if it was requested in 30 minutes it would be best to avoid rush hour. 5 minutes later they jacked the price up by 100.00 talking different address ( town) and rush hour as the reasoning. Really bad business practice! AVOID these bait and switch artists.

Everyone be careful for this towing company, they are scamming people. My car just got towed and it was not even there an hour. They told me I have to pay $563 cash only and the lady in the office is rude and a liar she told in the phone I have to bring cash when I get there I gave to her $580 and she told me I don’t have a change I told you to bring exactly the amount and the owner was watching. j

My nephew recently lost his house because of this companies unreasonably high prices and there inability to set up any type of payment plan. This is a greedy company with no sympathy and stupidly high prices.

My girlfriend was volunteering for the Minnesota State Fair for 4H, parked my car In a warner stellian parking lot just after 5 am to go into the fair grounds, at which point there where no signs or anything indicating she could not park the car, at 7 pm she went back to take the car home and it had been towed. The owner of the company was generally unhelpful and told her that it was "too bad" and that he wouldnt help her in the slightest. He said that she could not get the car until 8am the next day, when I called at 8 am he said the tow bill was over $700 and then proceeded to lie and say she pulled in at mid day and blatantly ignored the signs. Owner also stated that he would be charging us for 2 days of storage fees for a vehicle he had no more than 24 hrs and likely much less. Poor business practice and shady owner. Would not recommend

Sec. 4. Minnesota Statutes 2020, section 168B.035, is amended by adding a subdivision to read: Subd. 8. Payment; receipt; fees. (a) A towing company must not charge the owner of a vehicle or the owner's agent more than $150 for towing a vehicle. (b) A towing company must accept payment by cash, check, debit card, or credit card for all services. "A lady at Budget quoted me a price on the phone today 7-19-2024 of $500 for the initial tow and I had to pay by money order, cashier's check or cash in the exact amount and no other forms of payment we're accepted." Sec. 5. Minnesota Statutes 2020, section 168B.07, subdivision 1, is amended to read: Subdivision 1. (a) new text endThe owner or any lienholder of an impounded vehicle shall have a right to reclaim such vehicle from the unit of government or impound lot operator taking it into custody upon payment of all towing and storage charges resulting from taking the vehicle into custody within 15 or 45 days, as applicable under section 168B.051, subdivision 1, 1a, or 2, after the date of the notice required by section 168B.06. (b) An impound lot operator must not charge the owner of a vehicle or the owner's agent more than $30 per day for storage charges and other costs related to the impoundment. (c) An impound lot operator must accept payment by cash, check, debit card, or credit card for all services. The lady at budget inform me today 7-19-2024 "the cost of storage is $85 per day, starting when the vehicle arrives and the price is not prorated, even if you come get your vehicle an hour after it's towed. I must pay by money order, cashier's check or cash in the exact amount and no other forms of payment we're accepted."

I was treated very poorly by the people here. My car was wrongfully towed, but worse than that was the cruel and rude ways I was spoken to and treated. It felt like they were holding my car for ransom and mocking me at the same time. I was charged $483.28 for about 30 min of my car in their lot. These people are not trustworthy and seem to prey on the vulnerable.

I wish I saw these reviews after Lancer Auto Service recommended them to bring a vehicle to their location. These scam artists basically did a bait and switch on me. I was quoted $190 to move my van just three blocks which I had no problem with. The company was also in downtown so at least I knew it'd be quick service. They got there in 15 minutes. After I paid the driver he said "oh wait, I didn't realize this was an all-wheel drive vehicle. We will need to have a flatbed truck come and pick it up and there will be another fee." That fee was $100. So I was stuck with paying $290 after I was quoted $190. The dispatcher should have asked me if my vehicle was all-wheel drive before sending the first truck out. So either she is not doing her job or the boss did not properly train her. They screwed up, and made me pay for it.

I really wish I had read the horror stories on here before purchasing my car from this place! I would give 0 stars if I could. Roy was kind to me but talked up and down about having fixed it up and adding a brand new battery and there was nothing wrong but some issues with one of the doors. The car worked for 2 weeks and has been an absolute problem ever since. Not only was there a massive mouse nest under the hood . . I had to replace the battery (twice) due to the terminals being bad, replace the starter, all of the tires, along with other miscellany including internal lights all within 6 months of owning it. Ive paid more in fixing this thing than what I paid to take it home. Absolute lemon!

Had my car towed from my own legal place of residence by these guys so the complex could plow for snow. Went to pick it up a few hours later and they wanted $460 CASH ONLY. Outrageously unethical price gouging and wouldn’t take debit/credit payment and need the exact cash amount because they don’t give change (even though they’re a cash only business). Pictures of Trump and Mike Lindell on the wall if that gives you any insight into the character of the people running the business. Worshipping hucksters and con-artists is not a good sign when you walk into a place of business and $460 is disgusting. Completely unethical sleazeball con-artists.

While proprietor Roy was "nice", he had his hand out for $453.00 cash to tow my car from State Fair on what was supposed to be a fun day. I am a senior, had an autistic child and his friend with me, am desperately trying to survive. How can they live with themselves with these rates? What goes around will definitely come around, two-fold.

Negative stars. They are from a time before time. Shady and overpriced. They are snakes. $500 for a tow of two miles. Then on top, another $60 if car reminds for 12 hours and another $60 to just unlock a door. It's preying and price gouging. Please report ur experience to the city and the attorney general as I have. Their lot is lined with cars that became worthless after their fees. No business should be able to gouge people because they hold essential property for work and life hostage. No other business is allowed to do anything similar to that. Mortgage companies, landlords and even pawn shops are require to give more process. But beyond the law, they were rude beyond understanding. Even the AAA driver who had walked with me to unlock my vehicle was literally afraid that they might beat him. He wouldn't walk alone. How do they get away with this? Rude, unprofessional and uneducated. Vipers.

DO NOT buy a car from this towing lot if advertised on Craigslist. I knew what I was in for by looking into buying a used car from a towing lot, especially with no license plate on it to allow me to get it checked out, but I did not expect them to completely lie to my face about certain things. Had to wait 6 hours in line for the dmv only to have to return the next week and then 6 hours MORE for no reason other than to find a ride home since I couldn’t take the car I bought without license plates. Completely lied about the 4WD, the part to transition it from RWD-2WD/4WD was missing, either stolen by the towing lot while I had to wait a week, or was never on it. Battery died after a week of buying it too. Finally took it to a mechanic and they informed me that I should have junked it when I bought it. Parts are missing, parts put on backwards, coolant leaking everywhere from a rusted part, side door won’t open, screws missing... pretty much condemned and wouldn’t even risk fixing anything. COMPLETELY AND UTTERLY DISGUSTED. Do NOT trust this towing company. I’d think of suing since I voice recorded the whole selling process but I think it’s a dump business anyways and not worth the extra stress. Thank GOD I didn’t spend any more than I should’ve. They pretty much stole from me and will probably keep stealing from anyone in the future.

Do not use this company as all they care about is taking your money. We have a van that they towed in as a private tow from where I dont know, as the ban was reported stolen by the state of Ohio. The never called us to let us know the vehicle was there, which they have to by law. The bill is $1800.00 and $85.00 a day storage. We tried to talk to the owner and he refused to get on the phone. They want Cash only which is really fishy to me. Lets see if the owner does right by the disabled veteran whos van he towed.

I needed help Tuesday evening, and they were great! Thad came within 30 minutes of Budget Towing calling me back and helped towed my car ASAP! Prompt service, easy, and friendly! I'd definitely call them again if I needed help.

This company towed my car and eventually junked it but then would not give me a record of junking it or what actually happened to the car, they said one of two collection companies would be contacting me but then wouldn’t give me any information of what collection companies they work with because they don’t know “off hand.” Extremely unprofessional customer service, unfortunately now I have to write the better business bureau as well as the Attorney General’s office to try and get some semblance of customer service. Roy told me to, “go talk to myself in the shower.” Because he couldn’t, or simply wouldn’t, do the work to tell me what ever happened to my car.

I own a automotive shop, these people wrongfully towed a car out of my lot, I explained the situation they did not care no help nothing. Then when I had the tow truck driver come to get the car back- did I mention this was my customers car and they still didnt car- the price was different on arrival so the tow guy had to come back to me to get more cash. Then when he arrived he said the hood was opened on the customers car and they where digging through their vehicle.

My wife is a nurse for a home health care company. She was at an apartment complex taking care of her patients and was towed. She managed to stop the driver after he ran to his truck and pulled away when he saw her coming. Driver was JR in truck 142. She informed him who she was, that she had a parking permit in the car but forgot to make it visible and what she was doing there. She also told the driver that her purse, computer, and other belongings were in the car. He told her that for $150 cash he’d drop the car. She again said her purse was in the truck and she would be happy to go get cash since she doesn’t carry it on her. He threw a business card at her and pulled off. $372.88 to get the car back. What a ruthless business these people have. Heartless and uncaring shouldn’t be in business. The complex and or tow company are supposed to give a warning before a car gets towed, but they’ve never warned my wife. This is the kind version of my thoughts of these scum. Will be making a complaint to BBB and everyone we can.

I’ve been in the field service business for the past 22 years and this is what I’ve learned. When you get a call for help from a customer you are a hero at that moment, but when they get the bill you are a villain and the most evil person in the world. If you find value in someone coming out to rescue you and your car to where you don’t have spend the night in it, you’ll be happy to pay what they ask. You are always given the option to refuse the service. Plus, anything with wheels that rolls to your location is very expensive for the operator considering wages, fuel, insurance, licensing fees, taxes and so on and so on. Their profit margin isn’t what you think it may be. Just saying.

Owner arrived 20 minutes after I called and my car was stalled out on the sixth floor of a parking ramp. The rate was very fair, people need to remember how much money they have tied up in equipment. The lady on the phone was super nice, as we had to make a plan with the ramp management to get my car out. Thank you!!!

Driver hit one of our vehicles on our lot, then drove off without mentioning it, even with several witnesses. I have called multiple times over the past 7 days looking to speak with the owner. Each and every time I call, I am told the owner is either out of town or in a meeting. I am now told there is an insurance claim being processed, but they will not give me the claim number, nor will they give the establishment where I am having the work done at, the claim number. The woman on the phone is quite pleasant...as she lies to me. I will be sure to follow up this review with any...or no resolve, that I may have.

My car broke down on my way home from work. Called these guys to tow it to the shop. The guy who towed it did some extensive damage to my bumper, pulled the front quarter panel up and the headlights on the drivers side all scratched up. It looks like a circular pattern from a chain that banged against my lights and bumper, don't know why the panels is popped up. Tried calling these guys to talk to Roy several times with no response. Not cool.... they don't want to take responsibility for their drivers mistakes.?.... So very wrong to be dishonest and not acknowledging fault. Cannot even call me back?.. That's so messed up...the words out on your company !!!!!

I was in an accident, which wasn't my fault, and had to take my girlfriend to the ER. The cop stayed there until my car was towed. A couple days later I went to clean out my car so the insurance company could taken it and considered it totaled. What was disturbing was that even after getting hit by a car, my car was gone through at the tow lot. The middle console was open, and several things where missing. My change in my change holder and the Bluetooth transmitter was stolen by who ever at the tow place. The lady was nice while doing the paper work, but stealing from someone who was in a car accident is pretty low. If it wasn't for the theft of stuff in my car I would have given a higher rating. If you get towed by these people, be careful. They will steal out of your car.

My car was rightfully towed on the 23rd of January by Budget to the city impound lot. It was then set against another car when dropped in the lot. Not a huge deal, as it seems an easy thing to fix a couple scratches. Was promised by the manager, Roy Carlson, after he handed me his card that the issue would be fixed later that week. Over a month later and 15 phone calls I still haven't had a call back. Have been told everything under the sun as to why they can't even return a phone call to set something up. They seem to have no interest in fixing the problem or have a pretty incompetent system of calling people back. I have no problem with a company messing up but pretty poor integrity when I can't even get a call back in a timely manner. The lady who works the phones has been nice and respectful but there has been no movement on this for over a month.

My car was illegally towed from my apartment parking lot and I was charged over $400 to pick up my car, exactly two blocks from where it was towed. A valid parking permit was clearly displayed on the rearview mirror, but I was told the light blue OEM tint strip made it too difficult to see. Thankfully my apartment complex has since changed towing companies as many other residents were victims of these exorbitant wrongful tows. In hindsight, I should have contacted the authorities, but I just wanted to get on with my day after having to Uber to an ATM (they only accept cash).

When my car was stolen and then recovered by SP Police, they called budget to tow it away. In the process of them towing my car, they literally ripped the back floor off of my van. I'm pretty sure they know that I have the police report to prove it was Budget Towing's fault, too. If not, they do now! Whenever I try to call and talk to the manager about fixing the problem, they are never there and they don't return messages. I've called everyday since the event, and still...no call back.
