My sons vehicle was towed from a lot that the sign reads No Overnight parking and his vehicle was towed at 10:41pm which I think is total BS and cost him $360 to get his truck out of impound. There were about 50 vehicles that were towed that night before midnight!!! This company is making tons of money doing this and I think it is total wrong as they were not there overnight!!!

The are bad employees they towing my car and the damage my car i never ever see crazy people like them and very maeen hills of them

We actually did not get towed by this company we actually went here to purchase a car that they were selling and we found an amazing hybrid for $4200 and it’s an amazing deal. I know a lot of people are just reading one star is because they’re pissy and got towed but if you’re actually coming here to purchase a car it’s actually a really good place to find some neat deals

They pick and choose the cars in the lot I was in because mine was the only one got towed and ppls without permits still parking in the lot and they don't tow them total rip offs if you gonna tow one tow them all but I drive a beamer so they definitely will discriminate on me for money

Crooks! $400 to get my car back after it was towed out of the parking lot of my place of work because I forgot to put my parking pass on the dash, and the tow people probably see my car there 4 days a week with the pass in the dash. What tow costs $400?? That's INSANE

If you get towed it's $400 for one day. Typical towing company with no soul, morals or values. They do not care about your situation. The people who work here are heartless individuals. I pray for their souls.

This towing company operates like a trap, not a business. There is absolutely no clear signage or warning about their towing policies — just vague, poorly placed notices that are intentionally misleading. They rely more on confusion and technicalities than on actual service or integrity. When I called to get answers, I was met with condescension and zero accountability. The staff were rude, dismissive, and seemed completely uninterested in resolving anything — just eager to collect their fee.. which they prefer cash which is unethical on many levels as well as proof that they don’t pocket that cash themselves. And when you ask for a receipt it’s almost impossible task for them to accomplish. This business is predatory setup designed to take advantage of unsuspecting people. As well as gives the worst amount of customer service. They mess with you over the phone and then put you on hold. They also rip your cars all over i’m lucky there was no damage! They also do not notify you of towing… as I stood in the lot i live in, in a panic because I was on my way to take my son with special needs to the doctor i had no idea my car wasn’t stolen.. In the car as well was his medication we had just picked up from our first doctor visit that he needed to take by a certain time. The company did not care one bit and said that “sounded sad”. If you're looking for fairness, professionalism, or basic decency, look elsewhere. This company gives the entire industry a bad name.

Utterly trash establishment end to end. Unlike most reviews here, I did not have a car towed. I was forced, however, to deal with their completely uninformed, untrained, unwilling staff who were very ready to make unfounded promises and waste my time several times. Make no mistake. This company makes money based on how long they can keep things, and it the only thing they are good at.

Towed my rental car from the apartment I live at after only being parked for about 3 hrs. They also damaged the vehicle in the process. We need better legislation here in MN to protect us from these predatory companies.

I had the misfortune of having my Tahoe towed early morning on Sept 18, 2024. When I called Rapid Recovery on Acker St. in St Paul, Greg was cordial and let me know what I needed to do to recover my vehicle. THAT was a lot of bad news. I did not have my vehicle registration or the $360 CASH needed. When I got to 14 Acker street, I learned there are NO EXCEPTIONS. I brainstormed with Greg who directed me to a local bar with a cash machine. The registration was more challenging. I was fortunate to be able to locate the title for my vehicle on ONE Drive on my Ipad. I could not get it to transmit to Greg. That is when, Greg's associate stepped in as the Ipad Wizard, and airdropped the image to his cell phone then to Greg to complete the transaction. Greg and Chris were awesome; made a very challenging problem solveable and got me on my way. I would not wish the towing recovery process on anybody but if it happens, I hope you have somebody as helpful as Greg and Chris at Rapid Recovery in St. Paul be there for you. I hope their supervisor appreciates these guys. Client-facing, helpful, smart employees with good attitudes are hard to find. Jerry Brennan

I strongly advise against using this towing company due to their questionable and potentially unlawful practices. Their methods seem designed to unfairly target vehicle owners, demanding cash payments on the spot and towing vehicles under dubious circumstances. Any business or property management company utilizing their services may be putting their tenants or customers at risk of experiencing unfair treatment. I urge the city to investigate their practices. For your own protection, I recommend avoiding this company at all costs.

i know that people tend to be angry with towing companies, but the gentleman that helped me out was very nice. It sucks but they’re just doing their job. It ended up being pricey due to having it on their lot for a few days (our apartment failed to notify me they towed my partners car), so it added up. Otherwise, the man was nice and honest, the car was clean. Lesson learned !! don’t hate these men just doing their job. blame the companies that tow!

Towed my car At my OWN residence and with a parking pass! Was over 400 dollars to get my car back. The workers were absolutely no help and just downright rude.

Went to the DQ on central ave. In Columbia Heights and parked my car in a parking right next to DQ that was parking lot for a church that wasn't even open and I wasn't parked more than 10 to 15 minutes and when I came back my car had been towed. They wouldn't let me pick up my car for 2 1/2 hours because that's how long it takes to process it. Wouldn't give me my car unless I had proof I was the owner. Plus they charged me $360 cash only. They are such scammers.

Almost got ran into a wall around 12:00AM 6/18/24 off of Marion and Concordia because their drivers in truck #33 don’t know how to stay in their own lane and when I called to report the driver , the employee Dameon was the rudest coward I’ve ever experienced over the phone . He definitely didn’t make the report of the driver of truck #33 instead he decided to cuss at me because I was outraged by the poor driving skills of their drivers . I wish the owner would actually do something because I know employees are not allowed to talk back like and I definitely know drivers shouldn’t be recklessly driving companies vehicles with all of their information on the side .. it’s hilarious because the driver started to drive with sense and really slow once I started to drive on the side of him and collect the information needed to make this report this isn’t even going to be reported because of poor employee like Dameon

Professional criminals posing as tow service. Gives reputable drivers a bad name. Towed car from assigned underground parking spot when permit was displayed then lie about like coward they are. Lucky I wasn't there to physically prevent theft. Risky for your staff having them petty thief.

Criminals. Awful businesses. Completely damaged front wheels and steering gear when they towed. Incompetent employees that don’t know what they are doing. They dodge your calls to get a damage claim like it’s there real job. Do not trust them or work with them. They will wreck your car and not care and won’t do anything to fix their mistakes. Completely unprofessional, not that they care.

This company’s actions not only disrupted our plans but also tainted a significant family celebration—my daughter's college graduation party. I parked across the street from Red Rabbit due to the lack of available parking because Red Rabbits lot was closed for repairs. Mind you, all of the business located next to the lot were closing for the day. The demand for $360 in cash only is both unreasonable and suspicious. Such a high fee, combined with the insistence on cash payments, raises serious concerns about the transparency and ethical standards of their business practices. Most reputable companies offer multiple payment options to accommodate their customers and ensure accountability. Furthermore, the refusal to release our car without a receipt for the car tabs or the title is absurd and completely unnecessary. It appears as though this company goes out of its way to create obstacles and inconvenience for its customers. I encourage everyone to report this company to the Better Business Bureau.

Lowlife predators who patrol the streets of St. Paul looking for victims. Thankfully, I was able to catch them before they drove off with my car and only had to pay the $100 drop fee. And thankfully I can afford that. But what if it were someone who couldn’t? They’re going to impound someone’s car, charge them $340 for the privilege, then probably tack on a daily storage fee until the person can’t afford to get it out? It’s theft, blackmail and usury - an excellent business model. And the fact that they only take cash leads me to suspect money laundering as well. I hope all their trucks meet an ill fate, and I’m happy the driver’s vape was run over in the process of trying to tow my car tonight. Karma.

Was parked in the Fjall Raven/Free Wheel Bike parking lot on Grand Avenue in St Paul after store hours (7:40-830pm Thursday May 9). Came back to having my car just starting to be hooked up to a tow truck. Asked the guy very politely to release the car. Was told $100 cash on the spot or he would tow it and it would cost $340. The $100 went directly to the guys pocket. It took approximately 30 seconds to release the car. This is 100% blackmail. Hoping to work with the companies owning the lot to find a more reputable towing company to work with. License plate number YCA 8551.

Predatory towing company!!!! Attempted to hook me up in front of my 24 hour gym. If I had left the gym two minutes later, my car, dog and work equipment would’ve been gone. One guy yelled “you can’t park here”, yet, here I am, a member of the gym in that very same lot. I know y’all really weren’t about to front wheel lift my awd with the parking brake on and a hitch box on the back. Can’t even imagine the damage that would have caused. Companies like this don’t deserve to be in business.

Parked in a lot on Sibley near 6th in downtown St Paul that was so poorly marked, when we called Rapid Recovery about being towed they admitted it's poorly marked. It's apparently two lots, but looks like one. $5 parking signs were pointed towards the part of the lot we parked in. We paid the $5 in the pay box but our truck was towed upon return. The tow company is about one mile away, it cost $340 to get the truck back and they only take cash.

Oct 19 2023, my friend and I went to the Handsome Hog for dinner. We parked in the lot where we noticed the arm for the parking lot was up. This is not a usual occurrence as I frequent this establishment often and had been there within the last 30 days or so. This was my friend’s first and she asked did we need to pay to park, I said, “no” when the arm is up it is not required. We saw the pay box, but it had no instructions on it, so we went inside. We parked at Handsome Hog from approx. 545p and left at about 9pm. During our stay no one within the restaurant made us aware of the new parking lot rules or that it was under new management. To our shock and great disappointment our cars were gone. This is when we discovered the tow sign on the old parking arm and on a faded sheet of paper with the $5 parking taped. The distance between the signs is far enough to miss it, which appears to be intentional. There are no instructions: like put your car info, place money envelope in black box, etc. and there are no instructions on the pay box itself. Furthermore, when we went to pick up our cars, we paid $345 (tow was 340+5 for the parking) there were 3 people ahead of us and apparently Red Rabbit has hired this towing company as well Rapid Recovery. They only take cash and are conveniently open 24/7. This was a 90-minute hassle and almost $1000 night for $10 parking! When I went into the Handsome Hog to speak with the manager and explain the situation. I parked on the street (which there is a ton of construction on Selby Ave in St. Paul) and good ole Rapid Recovery was already towing yet another car. The manager took our information and claimed she would come out to see what was going on but never did. I have not received a call from anyone regarding this situation. When I left 15 minutes later, good ole Rapid Recovery had 2 more tow trucks out there circling the block, one guy in the lot calling out cars, and more cars being towed..they never even looked in the pay box! They were just rounded up cars! Outrageous! In these economic times people can't afford to be targeted in this way and especially in black community. Absolutely unacceptable!

I had an awesome experience with Rapid Recovery tonight! Bulldog came to move my friends brothers 1 ton dually just a few blocks back into his alley driveway. It was a really tight drive with trees on each side and I know it wasn't so easy to do because it was 1am and there is no light back there at all. But this guy is a class act. He didn't rush and he got it handled properly and in a very professional manner, and I was totally pleased. In my experience, quality tow truck operators are frankly difficult to find, and so if we need to move anymore cars we are definitely going call again. Thanks guys, you totally gave us excellent service! Btw Bulldog, if you read these at all, please check the review below from The Dude. Thats from my friends brother who's truck I just mentioned you helping us with. You are a huge blessing and I thank you because I know not every tow guy will give this kind of consistent service. Your service however is the type of above and beyond that deserves to be recognized, and I just want to say I really appreciate it. Thank you!

I have a 2015 Chevy Equinox LT that was operating great before the 2nd tow out of 3. I immediately informed Rapid Recovery of my concerns. They sent an inspector out who only addressed one of my concerns. I was directed to Universal Truck to set up a viewing of my front bumper to be repaired. However, when I informed the inspector that there was also a strange scraping noise coming from underneath my truck. I told him my truck was not making this sound prior to their towing it. At the time of this same inspection, I asked Mike if he was going to look under my car too see if he could see anything possibly attached and dragging under my truck. He dismissed it by stating that he had a Chevy Equinox LT specifically, and his car made this same type of vehicle. He continues to state that this make and model of the vehicle has a propensity to issues underneath. I reinerated that the is a sound coming from underneath my truck now and wasn't there underneath before they towed it around September 7, 2023. While I was at Universal Truck I repeated my concerns to Jeremy. He suggested that I have a more thorough inspection. I asked. He stated that he was only instructed to look at the front bumper and wheel wells. He was to order the parts to make the repairs listed above. We discussed contacting Mike at Rapid Recovery. I did. He vehemently said, "NO." He also stated, "That there was NO POSSIBLE WAY" that their tow truck could have caused the damage underneath my truck. On my own, I took my truck to get a more thorough inspection. We learned that the rear differential was damaged. My ALL WHEEL DRIVE truck (and other vehicles) was staged, then dragged, then taken to a dark parking lot across Livingston Street (the street behind my apartment building) to secure it t for transport to Rapid Recovery's lot. I feel like Rapid Recovery of trying to take advantage of me and that's on so many levels wrong, MORALLY AND SPIRITUALLY. I want Rapid Recovery to take responsibility for their mistake on how they handled my ALL WHEEL DRIVE TRUCK.

What a SUPERB EXPERIENCE!!! Lloyd's Automotive is 1 of the BEST & MOST PROFESSIONAL mechanics ever in Saint Paul Minnesota. PERIOD. So Lloyd's works exclusively with RAPID TOWING 2send vehicles TO & FROM their CUSTOMERS, so that reason ALONE means they HAVE 2BE one of the BEST towing companies around, otherwise Lloyd's would have NOTHING 2do with them. But my experience with RAPID TOWING goes far ABOVE AND BEYOND just excellent service IN EVERY WAY POSSIBLE!!! They towed my vehicle back 2me. Not only that but it was what they did AFTERWARDS that impressed me 2the Nth degree!. The PROBLEM was that my sisters vehicle had BROKEN DOWN in the alley leading 2my GARAGE, & there is ONLY ONE entry/exit 2the alley! it is a DEAD END. So I asked the driver for HELP, actually a BIG FAVOR. He UNLOADED my car, hooked up my sister's SUV, MOVED IT 300 feet, & 2the street. He THEN hooked MY car BACK UP & moved it right next2 MY GARAGE just like i needed it! I was going 2give him a tip & he just said you're welcome. I have never had such an INCREDIBLE EXPERIENCE with a tow company & probably NEVER WILL AGAIN! All the negative reviews on here seem more interested in expressing their anger in getting towed in the first place than honestly relaying their experience IMHO...

They are the worst business ever, they take advantage of people. I parked my semi-truck at Walmart parking lot (I understand, it was my fault), they came and towed my truck and trailer (no problem there), but they towed it around 3am and when I called them at 6am, they told me to pay $3340 cash for 10mil distance that they towed. That's way too much excessive, I've been in Trucking business for a long time and I know it's expensive to tow truck, but not that expensive. They told me I have only 7 days to come up with the money, don't forget the $100/day adding (thank God, I have the money to pay), what about those who can't come up with that kinda of money in that short period of time? Don't get me wrong, it's my stupidity to park my truck there, but this towing company needs to be out of business or they need to be investigating for piracy and taking advantage of people when they're vulnerable. And their employees are the worst.

My car was towed from my boyfriend’s apartment parking lot because I was not supposed to be parked there. That’s fine, the issue that I have with this place is that they are never actually at the place. My car was towed either Friday night or early Saturday morning and we called here on Saturday about picking up my car. They told us that we would be able to pick it up on Sunday. We called again on Sunday and they told us we could get it on Monday. We called again on Monday and they said we could pick it up at 9:30. When we arrived there was no one there to release my car and we had to get a different worker to text my information to the workers who were supposed to be there so that the other worker could open the gate and I could get my car. The entire experience with this place was aggravating to say the least.

A tow truck from Rapid Recovery came to my parking to tow another car. It and did significant damages to my car. The driver proceeds to unlawfully leave the scene without leaving any information. I was told by a few eyewitnesses that saw the entire incident. It was also confirmed that a tow truck from Rapid was out in my parking lot this night. I've made several attempts to contact Rapid to pay for the damages they've caused to my car. They made zero attempt to reply to me. Brian, the manager keeps playing the "we'll get back to you" and does not. This business takes zero responsibility or be civil for a property damage that they caused. This is an unethical "establishment" in so many ways.

$285 + $25/day charge is absolutely outrageous and greedy! Plus, it costs money to pay for a taxi if this is your only car just to go get your car! I didn't even get a phone call. I just went to my apartment's parking lot this morning to go to work and my car was gone. I found out my car was towed by calling the phone number on the sign in the parking lot. I wasn't even sure what happened to my car. It could have been stolen for all I knew. I was towed for an expired permit from my own apartment's parking lot. I missed a whole day of work and might lose my job now, and I am not even sure how I am going to get my car back. It's bad enough that I am missing work and have the inconvenience of having my car towed, but having to pay almost $300 on top of that should be illegal. I am sure this company just loved towing my car because they get to make more money by completely screwing me over. I am just lucky I even have the money in my account. If I didn't have the money, I would be missing even more days of work until I get my next paycheck. And by then it would cost me even more money! We had them tow our car once before too. I remember it took a while just to get our car back because the person at the window completely ignored us while we waited almost a 1/2 hour just for them to even talk to us. I hate this company! I think the whole system is unfair & towing companies are just exploiting people who make mistakes and then have to pay way too much money for little mistakes. I shouldn't be towed from my own apartment's parking lot either! I live here and I was towed just for having an expired permit. They shouldn't be allowed to do that!
