Stopped in a couple Friday's ago... a rare 40* February day, finally made my inaugural visit to their tap room! I only opted for a taster of Cranberry Lager. Light and refreshing. Parking was easy in their few spaces near just street parking. The tap room is spacious and bright. The service, of course friendly and knowledgeable. Thanks Castle Danger, looking forward to my next visit....maybe when I can enjoy a beer outside?!

Beer is pretty good, not great, but when I had one of their beers at a restaurant I thought my husband would like a shirt with their can design, so while traveling through the state I made a side trip to the brewery to get a shirt. The lady behind the bar was incredibly rude from the second we walked in. Maybe hit this spot in the evening for better luck. I can’t be the first person to experience this awful treatment from her.

12/20/25 Good beer, awesome merch selection. Good location. What I liked the best was their seltzers!! They had amaretto sour and Bellini. Soooo good!!

We visited on a Saturday afternoon and it was very busy. We sat at the bar and were serviced quickly but later had trouble getting anyone’s attention so we decided to cash out. We went to the “take home beer” area were able to sample a few beers there and ended up purchasing some to-go beer. The Aurora Haze and West Coast IPA’s were good but the Maple Marzen was a big surprise as I normally do not like this style of beer.

A "must" for your Two Harbors visit. I ordered a flight and sat outside on this sunny October day. For those who have fur babies this place is dog friendly!

Stopped in for a quick brewski with my gf! Great atmosphere and place to bring your pets.

A beautiful spot for a pint or two. Lots of seating indoors and a huge patio area. Nut Brown Ale was fabulous. Family friendly, lots of games and outdoor activities for kids and adults. Last night there was a food truck serving Mexican favorites and live music. Limited food otherwise (chips, pretzels, and such). Some people brought in their own food and someone had pizza delivered. Very laid back and friendly.

My favorite brewery! CDB was my first ever brewery visit maybe 10 years ago and introduced me to Minnesota craft beer. Today I had the George Hunter Nitro Stout and the Blood Orange Cream Ale. Amazing. Perfect spot to relax outside with your dogs, family or friends. Crazy beer selection on tap or to go. I even noticed some THC. Pretty rad. Merch selection is also crazy. I’ll admit - the beertender ladies weren’t welcoming or friendly. Some beertenders don’t care though about customer experience. I’ll be back though! 🍺

Castle Danger is an iconic brewery near the North Shore and worth stopping by if you're a brew lover. The outdoor atmosphere is relaxing and chill on a nice day and the indoor vibe is cozy when ole superior brings the cooler temperatures or rain. My personal recommendation: A pint of Castle Cream Ale 🍻

This place has great beer, excellent location, and friendly staff. Highly recommended stop on the north shore!

Castle Danger is a must-stop brewery on the North Shore. The beer flights are fantastic and give you a chance to try a wide range of their special brews. They also have seltzer options for gluten-free drinkers, which is a nice touch. The food truck adds solid food options, and the taproom has a fun, relaxed vibe with board games available. Great beer, great atmosphere, and a spot worth hanging out at.

I’ve been to dozens and dozens breweries in many different states and after much contemplation I declared this to be my favorite! Every pour is delicious. The landscaping and layout are so beautiful, plenty of seating, quiet/private table conversation because of the way the seating is arranged outside. Tons of games. Adorable gift shop. The food truck was fabulous. Snacks and ice cream were top notch.

Great spot to enjoy some beer and the company of others. We sampled several flights and spent a few hours here playing games (provided free by the bar). We had pizza delivered right to our table from nearby Do North. We didn’t particularly enjoy many of the beers and the bartender was particularly unpleasant. It’s not the most welcoming service which is unfortunate, given what a lovely atmosphere the place had outside of this interaction.

This brewery is great! There are many different beers to try from, and I Iike that there is a large amount of outdoor seating. You can view part of Lake Superior depending on where you sit. It is fun that dogs are allowed outside. I like seeing all the different dogs. The reason it is only getting three stars is because my sister and I got sick from the food truck food. We had a roast beef sandwich, and I'm not sure if it was the richness of the sandwich that upset my stomach or if it was food poisoning. I was so sick and vomiting after eating it, though. I don't think it was the beer because beer never upsets my stomach, and I'm not a heavy drinker. Food truck food will sometimes. I can't really handle grease. I was super sick for the entire night with horrible stomach cramps. On the plus side, the beer and the atmosphere were nice. Maybe I'll try it again with no food.

Great beers, friendly folks, nice location, plenty of seating inside and out. Food trucks during the summer but you’re welcome to bring in food from any of Two Harbors’ nearby restaurants.

So, so good!!! There are so many beers to taste and sample or get one in two different sizes. They had indoor and outdoor space. The outdoor space is amazing...huge with different levels and areas with shade. They also provide some games that people can enjoy, like cards and cribbage. They have a souvenir shop and growlers for take-home beer you enjoyed. The best part...besides the amazing beer options... they had a food truck!!! Their burritos were so good... little pricey, but worth it. I would go there again in a heartbeat. The staff were super friendly and helpful with the selections.

Amazing patio! Lots of sun or shade, plenty of seating inside or out. They don't serve food, but there was a food truck (tacos) when I was there. Great beer selection.

It was a beautiful day to be outside on the deck. We love CD beers! Below the deck is an area with a gravel path and a grassed area with picnic tables and many had sun umbrellas. There is a swag shop where you can get souvenirs. There are games boards/sets for enjoyment as you drink. Generous and clean restrooms are available. They serve packages chips or pretzels but don't serve food. When we were there a good truck was set up for food sales. They have live music at certain times. Check their website for the most up to date schedules.

Castle Danger is a popular brewery on the north shore of Lake Superior. They have plenty of room inside but their outdoor area is fantastic. They have a ton of space on their decks and amongst their garden; they have picnic tables around their stage, food truck, bags, and more. Their outdoor is very dog friendly and it is common to see whole families here. For beer they had ten on tap for my stop including: their popular cream ale, orange cream, a hefe, a raspberry hefe, pale ale, salted lime, stout (nitro and CO2), a grapefruit IPA, and a Hazy IPA. All were solid but I am more of a dark beer person, that said the raspberry was refreshing. This is a great brewery to come and sit on a nice day.

Large brewery, with a huge selection of high quality beers (I like the cream ale), lots of space inside and out for large groups, and some nooks where your family can play board games. I was here in the off season, but you can tell they are set up to service lots of tourists in the summer. There are also some interesting other cool establishments within walking distance. Check this place out if you’re touring the north shore!

After drinking the beer for years it was nice to finally come up to the brewery. The patio has lots of seating options and allows dogs. There was a food truck the day we visited as well. The rewards program is really easy to join too. Your card links you to a toast rewards program, the app makes it easy to manage your rewards.

I've had this beer so many times in Minneapolis and I'm so pumped to actually be here. It's a great vibe with tons of puppers! The best little surprise was finding vegan ice cream options! Such a great place to hang out. Beer is reasonably priced and there is a mountain of outdoor seating. Love this place.

Have been wanting to get to castle danger for a long time and it did not disappoint! Walking in it smells like they actually brew beer on site. Huge selection of beers. Have to have the cream ale on tap. The outdoor patio is great! It has a lot of seating and food truck on site

Best Brewery on the North Shore , Best beers and some neat snacks and some of the best decks to enjoy the Lake and Trains going by. Definitely do not miss it if you're in Two Harbors or heading up the shore .... don't forget to walk around the breakwater and the lighthouse afterward .. and if there's snow on the ground .. even better !!! .. 😉

What a great treat this brewery was. They even had a barbecue place there We decided to get a brisket sandwich which was incredible! And talk about going good with beer! Absolutely love this place and we'll go back again and again and again and again. Every time I come to Duluth I will come here They had excellent beers and beautiful ambiance lots of outdoor patio seating indoor seating and a great store with great prices. Support them by buying a t-shirt, a sweatshirt and two of their custom printed beer glasses. Love this place!!!!!

Very cozy place. Lots of beers to choose from. It is also family friendly with games you can play at the tables with kids or cards with your friends. Very kicked back in a good small town close to lots of nature activities on the north shore. Chips and salsa are there to buy, and they also allow take in food if you prefer. We enjoy going here. UPDATE July 2022...now they have cornhole, live music for some hours on weekends, and a BBQ truck there to buy food from on their property in the back lawn area with many picnic tables to sit at, also umbrellas to block the summer sun and provide shade. This place is so relaxing that I am adding pics of the bbq truck. They are right on the grounds of the yard. We had the nachos with pork.Delicious. There are racks of ribs, sandwiches, and many sides to choose from. This added food venue makes it a place you want to spend the afternoon at like a back yard setting. Bring your whole family.

Nice tap room. Their beers are great. They only have set flights. I guess I don't like the taproom telling me what I should drink. I go to brew pubs to try different beers not have someone pick the beer for me. Now you can choose your flight. Divas allowed outside. Very good beer.

HUGE patio and picnic seating. Love that they have chips and salsa for sale, as well as food trucks stopping by. We enjoyed getting the flights and trying all kinds of their beers. Their patio became the perfect end to each of our days in Two Harbor after we hiked and before we went to dinner.

This place can be summed up as overrated. It's okay, but certainly not great, particularly given the surly service. Their supposed flagship beer, the cream ale, is not good. Most of their other beer is average (eg Belgians) to below average (eg pale ales). The highlights were the Stout, pils and mosiac IPA, which were above average. The atmosphere inside is welcoming, however the bartenders were not. The first bartender mildly tolerated my existence in making an order and then asking to keep my tab open. The other bartender was downright rude to my spouse when she ordered a second round of drinks. Yes, we are not a locals, but I can expect 80% of their business comes from out-of-towners. You would think they'd be more welcoming... Prices are high, particularly for the area. $11 for a flight. $6-7 for some pints (or 13 ounce pours). They do offer patrons the option of bringing in food or ordering takeout from nearby restaurants (and provide contact info for those restaurants on a small menu). They do sell pretzels and chips/salsa onsite. They also offer craft soda pop for $2. Like other taprooms, they offer free access to board games and cards. Parking is free, but on street only (there is no lot). The steps leading up to the entrance were icy/slippery. They have a patio, which would be nice in the summer time, but is closed in the winter (they could have patio heaters on). There are limited views of Lake Superior from inside and on the patio. Note: they do now offer custom flights (perhaps management saw other negative reviews and made changes?).

It's a nice place for a beer, nicely decorated, clean and trendy looking. I had never been to the brewery before but have had many of their beers. Great product at decent prices. I was disappointed with no table service and no kitchen, but I could have researched and known that, just stopped thru on a trip back home from Lake Superior, so we had a beer and went up the road for dinner. Will stop back someday when I am looking just for drinks, it'd be a great place for that.
