Lakeside Auto came out to my location on a Friday evening when everyone else was closing. He sold me a part for a good price and fixed my car right there on the side of the road. I would highly recommend this company!
Dan and Tate went out of their way to save my trip back to the cities on a Sunday. Radiator hose blew on the highway and I was stranded at a gas station in rush city. I got Dan’s number and even though he was working on two other cars, he was there within an hour and a half, part in hand and I was on the road in 20 minutes. Price was very reasonable and service was outstanding. Very grateful to Lakeside and would highly recommend!
Dan and Travis are great! My mom blew a tire on the way up to Mora and they went down to help and put a spare on right away. Next day we were able to give him his tire back and then he towed my vehicle! I had him tow it to a different mechanic from a dealership that was going to charge way too much to fix it. He offered to fix it as well, but I decided to use the second mechanic. However, I know he would have done a great job just because of how honest and kind he was and he would have been significantly cheaper than anyone else. We're definitely going to him for our future car repair needs! If you're a girl who's sick a getting ripped off by bigger shops or dealerships this is your guy!! Thanks so much!!! Highly recommended for sure! We were very pleased with Dan’s quick response and ability to help us out with an en route issue we needed assessed just for safety. We were from out of town and traveling home and heard a rattling noise while driving. We happened to come across his shop and seeing how flexible his timings were online, we thought we would call him up and ask. Dan was able to get us in right away and resolve the problem with a quick hoist to diagnose. He was so efficient, kind and completely down to earth as we were traveling with our family. Would definitely come back to him if we were in the area! Thank you for helping us to have a peace of mind on the way home and for taking care of what was needed efficiently. I was driving up north to go hunting for the weekend, when my truck started making strange noises and the check engine light came on. I called Dan’s shop around 7:30 PM, and Dan answered right away. He patiently listened as I described the issue, offered to tow if needed, and even walked me through step-by-step over the phone how to fix the problem by adding the right fluids. He never asked for anything in return—just genuinely wanted to help. Dan went above and beyond, and thanks to him, my trip wasn’t ruined. Hands down go to guy in the area. 7:30am on our way to voyageur one hour into a 4hr road trip we hit a deer. He was thankfully available to help us right away! Very friendly and upfront and honest about the fix. Had us on our to way within 3hrs!
Dan is the best! I mistakenly put the incorrect fuel in my truck.GM wanted to charge me $20,000 for the repair. Dan was able to remove the fuel system, clean and flush the system, reassemble and make the truck run like new. He did replace the fuel filter and today all is well. He charged us labor at a very fair price that was well below what GM would have charged. Thank you to Dan for taking on this challenge. You are the best!

In all honesty, I have a deep seated mistrust of Mechanics. I knew from the minute I called and talked to Dan that he was an honest, hard-working man. He listened to me, he did not talk down to me or try to mansplain anything. He was kind and he was able to get my car in right away.
I had been to another mechanic in the area and they made up a bunch of BS about what might be wrong with my car and they were ready to charge me a lot of money.

Dan’s customer service is outstanding. He drove out on a Sunday evening (7/6) to where our tire went flat. He brought myself, my husband, son (in a car seat) and our pet bird back to his shop to replace our tire. We got to meet his welcoming family and pets. After putting a replacement tire on our rim he drove us back and put it on. We couldn’t be happier with our experience. Thank you Dan!
Called roadside assistance for my flat tire and Dan was the one to come out and help me, he was fast and incredibly nice. He offered to teach me how to change a tire myself for the future and even said I could call him anytime if I was trying to do it myself and needed guidance. Great service and very friendly! We were having emergency car problems on a Saturday. One place gave us a quick answer and sent us on our way so we drove off and had troubles just 10 minutes later. Called Lakeside and he said to stop on by. He made time for us even though it was a holiday wknd Saturday. He didn't sugarcoat our problems but got us a reasonable fix to ensure we made it home ok. He even texted along the way to ask if we made it. Great personality and nice friendly family business.
Can't recommend Lakeside enough. My Radiator went on my car and I called Lakeside in the morning and they got my car in and finished by the evening. Extremely professional, fast!, and their pricing beat every other place I called by far. Found my new mechanic. Highly recommend you do the same!
Such a fantastic experience! Our van’s alternator was not working on the way up to Duluth and he was able to get us fixed and going in under 2 hours. He (and his family!!) were incredibly kind and welcoming to my kids and I while we waited! Great service, fair pricing!
I was driving in Arkansas, when the engine light went on. I called Dan and told him it was on, and that my truck was iding a little ruff while at a stop light. He told me to pick up a can of Techron, and pour it in the gas tank. I did it, the check engine light went off, and it is running great. A few months ago he looked the truck over, a diffrent macanic told me I had a small oil leak, and that I had an emissions leak. Dan said there is no leak, no bolts are broken like the other macanic said. Dan is so honest and very dependable. 5 stars all the way!
Thursday Feb 6th, my car died half on the road half off, a friend recommended i have Dan. I did he was able to tow it too my house. Very respectful guy. I've had dan work on my vehicle before. Very reasonable as well.

Dan has been servicing my cars for several years with prices that I can afford. He is a great communicator, letting me know where he is in the repair process. He actually answers the phone which is almost unheard of in this day and age. When he can’t get to the phone, he always gets back to me in a timely manner. I appreciate as woman that he doesn’t talk down to me or try to sell me something I don’t need. He is kind and has a great heart for helping people. 💙
My 18 yr old daughter was on her way back to college after a holiday 2 hours from home and 3 from her dorm and her alternator went out. Dan gave her a tow to his shop and replaced the parts quickly so she could get back on the road. Very reasonable price, and great to work with by phone for the payment.
Dan was awesome! He helped us off the side of the road when it was freezing cold out! He didn't have to stop and help us get our RV going again, he was actually on his way to help somebody else out. But he did! He's the best! Most mechanics wouldn't bother helping someone out while on the job. But Dan went above and beyond. He got us going again, so we could make it at least to a nearby parking lot where we could work on it. A hidden gem-
Every once in a great while, between all the disappointment in the world, you can still stumble on to the type of person/company that reminds you that there is indeed still good left out here to be found. I spent HOURS calling 40+ different places trying to find someone who could help me. Countless non answered calls and voicemails left with no return call, or shops that just weren't willing to go 3 minutes out of their way to help me out. And then I found Dan, owner of Lakeside Auto Service. He answered quickly, polite as could be, and even though it was one of the most last minute requests that could be made, he made it happen with a smile on his face and an outstanding amount of professionalism. I honestly can't say enough good things about Dan and the company he operates, I only wish I would have found this gem sooner. Dan and his wife are awesome! My son was on his way to a friend's cabin when his brakes went out. We Googled and found Lakeside Auto and he made his way there. Dan's wife (I'm sorry, I didn't get her name) was so friendly and welcoming to my son. She called Dan and let my son sit there with her until Dan came back. He patched up my son's brake line and sent him on his way in no time. My son felt very comfortable with him. They're very welcoming and hospitable and charge a very reasonable rate. Being so far away from my son when he had car trouble was tough, but they made it so much easier and I can't thank them enough. I highly recommend Dan and Lakeside Auto.
