I came in to inquire about a tire repair - I was immediately met with hostile energy and comments belittling my knowledge. I was told the price for a patch would be $58, and I said that was more than I expected. I was told “Good luck finding somewhere else”, another unnecessary and hateful comment. What a surprise - we found somewhere else that didn’t try to gouge us! Don't come here if you’re a young woman, Sterlings on university can patch a tire for $33 :)
Just rented a U-Haul from here and I'm pleased to say this was the least stressful part of my moving day. Dan is the Man! Thanks for getting us set up, will be back when I need some tires.
I truly appreciate this place for assisting with all of the necessary updates and maintenance needed to keep my SUV running smoothly. Work is always if quality and completed in a timely manner. I have a few more things to get done and for sure it'll be right back into there trusting hands. Being a woman I feel I'm told honestly and fairly what is needed and cost. Highly recommend!
I dropped my car off at 9:30 after getting a flat on my way to work. By 11:30 I was back on the road with 4 new tires, fresh oil, a new battery, and working blinkers. I'd planned to get those done soon, but they had everything rockin and rollin in 2 hours! Steve was super friendly, too. I waited at the coffee shop he recommended (also good). Definitely found my go-to mechanic in my new city!
I do a fair amount of work on my car myself; recently my car had been drifting pretty hard to the right and I was concerned the alignment was off. They correctly identified I'd put my tires on in the wrong spots (oops!), sorted it out, and didn't even charge me for their time. Always done reliable work at reasonable prices and honored their warranties with me.
They were prompt and able to get me in a timely fashion, however, I feel I was way overcharged for my service. I asked for an oil change and to change my brake pads, they completed the oil change and noted on my reminder sticker to come back in 3,000 miles, rather than the typical 5,000. Instead of changing the brake pads they lubricated the calipers instead. They rotated my tires, which was appreciated, however, they didn't mention that my tread was dangerously low (2.5") and that I had a nail in one of my tires. I paid just under $600 for this service, which I feel is way too much given the lack of service and communication. Especially considering the lack of attention to my tires. The folks there were friendly enough and prompt to work with, but the rest of my experience was lackluster.
Mr. Tire Northeast is the only shop I take my personal and work vehicles to and I've been a loyal customer since 2005. Steve, Dan + their team are extremely trustworthy (they've even talked me out of having work done), their prices are fair, and their customer service is second to none. These guys are the real deal and shopping local always feels great. Thanks Mr. Tire!
Always awesome service. They do a great job explaining car stuff to someone who could care less about cars stuff! They are friendly, honest, and compassionate. They also have an impressive stash of dog treats behind the desk for when you drop by with your dog. I couldn't recommend a better neighborhood shop!
Mr. Tire was great to work with! I got a total flat about a mile away from them and drove over on a Fix-A-Flat to leave my car there overnight. I had forgotten they would need my keys so I had to Uber back in the morning but they had already started fixing it in the parking lot so that I wouldn't need to Uber there and back again. I really appreciate the extra mile they went working in the cold to save me time and money. Steve at the front desk was very nice.

The kicker is that the fella at the counter told me 5$ a piece for lug nuts is cheap. The set I purchased for my other vehicle was $22 for 20.
I see how these guys are making money.
Went to Catholic Eldercare to visit my Dad and my tire went flat as I enter the driveway and parked. I searched for a tire place nearby to fix the flat and came upon this place. Dan the man was awesome on the phone and said he would try to slide it in between jobs. Turns out they could not save the tire because it had a 1inch gash in the tread (tire was not in good shape anyhow). He managed to get me a new tire, balanced, and mounted at a very reasonable price in a few hours. The big box tire places have nothing on these guys. On the plus side I spent a little more time with my dad. Go see Dan for good old Nordeast honesty.
3/23/23 - yep I still come here to get my car serviced, even though I've moved and there's closer auto shops to me. The mechanics here are honest and open about what's going on with my car and help me keep her running smoothly. Trust, rapport and quality service is what keeps me coming back year after year. Grateful to Dan, Steve, Bruce, Shawn and Brian!
My primary go to shop for any car issues for YEARS. They've been kindly and honest with the various car problems I've had over the years and I'd trust them with the vehicle I entrust my life to on a daily basis. Really good turn around time too.
100% . . . they provided a useful quote by email. with comparable tires and an alignment the cost was over $100 less than their competitors. they provided friendly same day service and completed the work faster than quoted. they even found some other items in need of repair or replacement and did the necessary work at reasonable cost. the ride is so smooth now, it is like i have a new car.
I am a new customer of Mr Tire. Since my car is getting worn down, I have had worries about the cost of repairs and maintenance needed for my vehicle. Mr Tire has made these worries nonexistent. Every time I have gone to get my car serviced, I have been met with the most helpful people I have ever seen in the auto repair business. Their technicians have decades of experience, which makes me confident in the work that they do. They charge very reasonable prices, and complete the work on my car within a few hours, all while communicating with me in great detail throughout the whole process via phone. The owner Steve has been so helpful and will listen to all my concerns about my vehicle while giving helpful feedback and recommendations. I plan on coming back here for as long as possible.
They will scam you. Avoid this business. (4/25/22) was my first experience there.
I went in for an oil change, and they suggested an air cabin filter change. I said, "why not? Throw it in!" To my surprise, I was scammed. An air cabin filter job is a simple fix and doesn't require much labor—it usually only takes about 15 minutes. When I received my receipt, I then understood the slimy ethos of the business. I was charged 20 for the cabin filter parts (which I expected), but then I was charged 51 dollars for the labor cost. They charged 250% above the parts cost for labor on a job that takes around 15-20 minutes—needless to say, that is quite poor on their part. Stay away, and give your business to another company.
Tried to rip me off!!! Look up the price of your tires or get a second quote at another place before going there. The guy told me “these are the tires I would get my daughter” and as soon as I called another place I got a quote $300 cheaper for the same exact tires. Especially if you are a young woman don’t trust this place to be up front about their pricing.
Editing to reply to their follow up: the second shop I went to down the road had me looking at the computer with the tire prices on them. Firestone all season tires were the tires I was quoted here and they were the same tires I had put on my car at the next shop (can be seen in photo)
I've been going to Mr Tire for about four years now, and won't take my car anywhere else. The service is always fast and friendly, the prices are fair, and they are honest and never try to sell me anything I don't need. The owner (Steve) is usually working the front desk when I come in, and talking to him is always delightful!
Great and Quick Experience! My rear brakes were making a loud scrapping noise. I suspected it was because of the brake pads, which the service technician confirmed was the case.
Dropped off car at 745am. Got a call at 830am describing the problem and what it would cost. The cost was reasonable. Very friendly exchange with the owner Steve. Called back at 10:25am to say it was ready to pick up. I picked up my car 12 noon and the scrapping noise was gone.
Super easy process and quick turnaround. Definitely gonna be my go-to play for car issues moving forward
FANTASTIC service! I got my struts replaced today and was feeling bummed because I needed to get the work done despite being really low on funds. They did it at totally reasonable cost AND fixed my front fender, which I had done a bang-up job of replacing months earlier FOR FREE and without asking. Thank you Mr. Tire staff!!! So much appreciation for you!!
Mr. Tire is the BEST!!! I have brought my car there so many times, and each time I am treated with respect, and also given honest advice about my vehicle. I drive a cheap car, and I don't want to dump more money into it than what it's worth - they always give me their honest opinions on what does and does not need to be fixed. They're also some of the friendliest mechanics I've ever met!
Bonus tip: Stop by Dogwood Coffee while you wait to have your car fixed!
The team at Mr. Tire Northeast is superb. They are efficient, honest, courteous, knowledgeable, trustworthy and beyond friendly! I even bring my dog with for a few treats. I have been going to this business since I moved to Northeast 3 years ago and have always trusted them with my vehicle's needs. Google is constantly asking me to review Mr Tire Northeast, since I've used them a lot. I have had nothing but great service from this place, and the prices are more than fair as well. They seem fast and always get the job done faster than the ETA they've given me. I used them the whole time I owned my 2004 Ford Focus hatchback, and now my 2012 Chrysler 200. I've probably used them up to 10 times total for everything from brakes, rotors, tires.
On weekends, you must get their early for same day service. When I went recently for an oil change, I also asked them to top off my other fluids. I even asked the counter attendant if that was done because that's not part of their usual oil change practice. When I went to my car and checked the fluids myself, they were all at fairly low levels. When I went back inside to tell him, he did top off the fluids but did not apologize much or offer any explanation. The decent prices and great location will probably have me back for routine maintenance though.
I've gone here probably 6 or 7 times over the past four years or so.The staff have always been friendly, honest, and very clear in their communications about my vehicle. They've provided me with options, and have never done unnecessary work, or suggested repairs that weren't needed (I verified with other mechanics before authorizing work to be done). Their honesty and lack of up-selling is quite refreshing!
Excellent service! The staff was friendly and very fast. Brough my car in at 8am for an oil change and tire balance and I received a call by 10am that my tires needed to be replaced. I was given multiple options with no pressure to buy (with reasonable pricing) and my car was ready with new tires and an oil change by 2pm that day! I couldn't be happier and I will definitely be going back for all my automotive needs.
My husband & I can't say enough good things about the whole gang at Mr. Tire. Although we had initially expected a franchise with interchangeable mechanics, it's not like that at all. This is a real old-fashioned neighborhood business with personal attention, friendly staff, & top-notch service. They're always good-humored & sympathetic (much appreciated when you're having car trouble), & they never stop until they take care of the issue if you're there to get something fixed. We quit going to our Subaru dealer & our lives got a lot easier, plus it's always a pleasure to interact with these folks. We have recommended them to friends from the suburbs & they have continued to make the drive into the city in order to have their vehicles serviced here. They even take care of our small RV.
