THE MOST INHUMANE TOWING COMPANY EVER.
My car was towed on Wednesday, and when I went to pick it up Thursday right after my class and exam, I was literally twenty minutes late. Instead of showing any understanding or basic human decency, the man(a tall guy with a ponytail) working there was rude, unprofessional, and completely lacking empathy. He refused to release my car and forced me to pay for another full day, adding an extra $100 to an already outrageous total of $405.
As a college student trying to make ends meet, that’s almost my rent for the month and he couldn’t care less. The attitude I received was condescending, cold, and heartless. There was no attempt to explain policies respectfully or to help find a solution — just arrogance and a “too bad for you” mentality.
This place clearly profits off people’s misfortune and takes advantage of technicalities to squeeze out more money. I have never felt more disrespected by a business in my life. If you care about fairness, decency, or being treated like a human being, stay far away from this company. Wish you all the worst.

I was recommended Tyson’s Towing by a car dealership a couple of days ago for an unknown no start issue. The male employee who booked the tow was initially very nice and accommodating, then I received a bill nearly $400. I was told about a large “en route” fee, on top of other, still high, charges. When I asked why I wasn't informed about the total cost beforehand and for a detailed breakdown, I was told, “Because it would be taking money out of our pocket.” I had to ask for a breakdown! I was also told that I saved over $100 because I was going to one of their account dealerships, which was 29 miles from my home. I plan to sue for their unethical practices and fraudulent business methods. The man who answered the phone said, “Next time use someone closer to you,” in a condescending tone, followed by what sounded like a laugh when he hung up.
Towing companies need to be held more accountable and those of you who had a less than great experience need to speak with your legislators! I will be through the course of my lawsuit. They do this because not many people act on their unethical practices.
This company preys on people during the State Fair by towing vehicles that are legally parked near the bus stop. My car was parked in a legal spot and they still towed it.
When I called, I was told the fee would be $405. We rushed to get the cash, only to arrive and be told it was suddenly $455 because it was “after 4pm.” The employee was extremely rude and dismissive when I questioned it, and claimed his boss “changed the price.”
$455 to get your car back—after being wrongfully towed—is outrageous. This feels like nothing but a scam and price-gouging operation. Don’t do business with this company.
Outrageous! These tow truck operators are brazenly stealing cars from customers who are literally dining inside Popeyes on Lake and Pleasant Ave. They're towing vehicles without regard for the owners' presence, then demanding money for release. Check the attached picture - the customer has a Popeyes bag in hand, proof they were inside when their car was towed. This is blatant extortion. How can this be allowed?
THE WORST COMPANY TO DEAL WITH!!! MAKING MONEY OF PEOPLE without any sober investigation. Our car was towed away and we tried to call them multiple times, they did not pick up the phone. Same thing happened to my relative, she had parking sticker displayed in the windshield and still her car was towed away and without any sober explanation, they returned the car only after cash payment. They want cash payments only and if you do not have exact amount, they’ll not give you a change. BE AWARE OF THIS COMPANY!!!!!!
Fast and reliable service! I waited 3 hours for my insurance vendor to send a tow truck that never came. I reached out to Scottie and he told me he'd send someone right away (mind you this was in the middle of a storm at 10pm) I am so grateful this team was able to assist me with my stalled vehicle and get it dropped off at my house!
Parked in the customer parking at Popeyes and while I was inside my car was towed, no attempt to even validate that I was eating there. When the towing company was called the person on the line insisted that the manager had called to have my car towed, which the manager refuted and even tried his hardest to get my car back. By their own admission they towed the car at 6:59 when me and my friend's receipts are marked 7:00 and 7:02 respectively. Took 2 hours for these parasitic scam artists to admit fault and bring my car back.
Thankfully unlike some other reviewers here I wasn't made to pay for their mistake, but if you see a sign for Tyson's Towing on a lot better to just skip that business than to have to deal with these people.
Joe did a GREAT job hauling my precious baby, a 1965 Austin Healey 3000 MKIII. He took great care to make sure it was strapped safely & without damage. Drove smoothly, was courteous to other drivers, & avoided the No Trucks section of 35E. Thanks Joe! I hope you get that Duster rolling soon!
Company tows vehicles illegally, the employees are extremely rude and believe they are above the law.
After response update: this review is real and there is proof of the disgusting verbal abuse the worker from Tyson was saying to their customers. You should be ashamed of yourselves for defending an employee like that. Instead of aitting here responding to reviews, take action to the workers under your company.
I have absolutely nothing good to say.
If I could give negative stars I would.
My warranty company hired them for a tow, and the waiting window was 2 hrs.
After 2.5 hours I called and the person on the phone could not have cared less. Lied to me the first time saying it’ll only be 45 more mins.
After another 1.5 hrs I called again, and he said only 15 mins if that I’ll get a call that the driver is near. I waited another 1.5 hours and called again and he said oh only 3 mins.
Mind you while this was going on, my warranty company had an AI BOT checking on me and I was getting even different waiting times through that.
Eventually I called AAA and paid the membership to get a tow.
It is incredibly unacceptable to wait over 5 hours for a towing, and even more so that 1. He could not give me an accurate time and 2. He did not care. Mind you this was 4:30 pm on, and then I had to wait for AAA during the middle of the night which made this night even longer.
DO NOT HIRE THEM
They stoled my husband truck ! We had to find it ! They charged us and would not give us the money back ! after we had proof and photos they were wrong ! They took the photos themselves proof was in photos. They realized that and deleted them but we have them turned it into states attorney . Tyson won't respond so now it will be going to Court. Should just not of taken it in the first place. Gave them a chance to pay us back didn't . It will cost more now. They also are becoming aware of many others they have taken !

Auctioned three of my friends vehicles! Kept everything inside the vehicles all of personal belongings.
Tried to get two motorcycles back after less than a month of being there . They said it would be 6000 for EACH BIKE and they weren’t even worth that. Horrible people!

This company is heartless, dishonest, and predatory.
While I was gone for a month, they towed my truck, car, and four motorcycles from my apartment complex WITHOUT ANY NOTICE. I returned home to find everything gone.
When I called, I was told my vehicles were at their Lakeville location. I was quoted $6,000 per motorcycle—yes, six thousand dollars EACH. Then I was told to call back the next day to make an appointment to retrieve them. I did. And just like that? They “magically” auctioned off my truck and car overnight without telling me anything. I didn’t even get the chance to retrieve the thousands of dollars in personal items still inside—passport, legal documents, baseball card collections, IDs—gone.
Every time I spoke with someone, I got a different story. They refused to give me clear information, and now my property is gone. This is theft disguised as towing.
I have proof of ownership, keys, and titles. I never received any notification, warning, or paperwork—nothing that complies with Minnesota law.
Stay far away from this company. If they did this to me, they can do it to anyone. I’m pursuing legal action, and I will not stop until they’re held accountable.
Tyson's Towing was very helpful! I was called ten minutes before our guy, Joe, showed up, to confirm that he was on his way. When he arrived, he was very friendly and professional, and was very prompt in getting everything done. We left when he was loaded up the car onto the truck, and he arrived within five to ten minutes of us getting to our address (it was close by). This was a stressful ordeal, and I can only hope that if something like this happens again, someone like Joe will be around to help. Thank you, Tyson's Towing and Joe!
Had some car troubles on a roadtrip and needed a tow to an auto shop. Joe came so quick, was very professional, and super kind! He answered all of our questions and made us feel better about the situation we found ourselves in. Thank you so much Joe! You were amazing!
Tyson’s Towing was supposed to help my little sister, and after leaving her stranded for 3 HOURS in the Suburbs of Minneapolis, I called on her behalf because that’s what a big-brother does. They gave me the same excuse they gave her “we’ll be there in 30 minutes” but they never showed up. This is not how you treat customers who paid and it certainly is not the experience YOU would want for YOUR little sister, wife, daughter etc. At this point in time, my sister has not been refunded. Hoping the team at Tyson's Towing grows and learns from this.
I have never left a review before, so believe me when I say this is THE WORST COMPANY I’ve ever dealt with. They canceled on me, and then wouldn’t issue me a refund. They are definitely a scam. Do not use them!
If I could leave a 0, best believe I would. I was told it would take 30 minutes for a truck to arrive and at 3 hours there was still no truck, I told them I needed an ETA, they said 45 minutes and the truck would be there. So after 45 mins I called again and they kept declining my calls, I had someone else call and they answered, then after speaking with them they canceled on me, saying they actually couldn’t tow my vehicle, because they had the “wrong truck”. They said they would issue a refund and then never did. I called SO many times and they began to answer and then hang up on me. Or when they would answer they would say no one there could process a refund, so I would have to wait till “john” got in and he would call me. And as you guessed “John” never called me. Long story not so short this company has the worst customer service, and I wouldn’t be shocked if they were a complete scam. DO NOT USE THEM!!!

Called roadside assistance and had Tyson's Towing come and tow my car. It was estimated they would arrive in 45-60 minutes. They arrived in 10 minutes. Very prompt. And the person who helped was very professional and cordial. He towed it to a nearby auto shop. Luckily he knew someone there and was able to get my car looked at earlier than normal. My car was fixed and was able to pick it up all in the same day. I'm very happy with them!
Tyson Towing was contracted by my car insurance for roadside assistance when my car wouldn't start. Kobi arrived within 20 minutes, was clearly knowledgeable in addressing the issue at hand, and made sure the car arrived safely to the mechanic. He even made sure the dealership was able to squeeze me in before leaving me there. Very thankful for their competentcy, promptness and seamless process during a stressful situation.
The tow driver was informative on top of being friendly and professional. He taught me about battery tenders and provided excellent suggestions on maintaining a vehicle that doesn't get driven often (like once a week) while we were driving to the service station. This information will help me in the future and hopefully prevent future issues with the battery. And despite the -15 degree weather and the high call volume they had today, he arrived well within the expected time window.
I am highly impressed by this company and will recommend in the future!
Completely unreliable. My insurance utilized them for towing my disabled vehicle. After they were over 5 hours late for expected ETA, I was provided their number to call for an update. The phone was answered with "hold please" & then was left on hold for several minutes & then hung up on. Same process every time I called back. No one will speak to you at this place. Completely unprofessional & unreliable.
Minna towed my vehicle today in a bad winter weather condition in Minnesota. Her service was exceptionally good. She is very courteous, professional, and a kind person. Honesty, I wasn’t expecting this, but she surprised me There should be more experienced people like Minna in this industry. Thanks for your great service!
If I could give this company zero or negative stars, I would. My experience was highly disappointing and felt like a deliberate scam. They wrongfully towed my vehicle from my designated parking spot, which I pay for, despite clear evidence and camera footage proving their error. When I attempted to address the situation, their staff was unprofessional, dismissive, and even hostile, refusing to engage in any meaningful resolution. Additionally, the fees they charge to retrieve vehicles are exorbitant and unreasonable (Almost $500) And what kind of business does cash only?! And the “tax’s and fee’s they add on top is crazy. This operation appears to prioritize profit over integrity and accountability. I strongly caution others against dealing with this company. And the customer service is Absolutely disgusting the lady answers with an attitude assumes everyone is trying to argue with her and absolutely does not listen and will hang up on you repeatedly. Absurd.
This company was scheduled to pick up my car through my insurance's roadside assistance. They estimated a 2 hour wait at most, after 2 hours and 15 minutes we tried to contact them to get an update, only for three calls to go unanswered. They finally called back and told us they were dropping another car off in the area and would be with us in 30 minutes.
45 minutes go by without any contact or information, my insurance calls to say they just got off the phone with Tyson's and that they told them the exact same thing they told us 45 minutes prior. At least now we were promised it would be less than 30 minutes at that point.
ANOTHER 45 minutes go by, no contact, no information from Tyson's. My insurance calls me for an update and lets me know they just tried to contact Tyson's only to be hung up on immediately and several more follow up calls went unanswered. At this point over 3 and half hours had gone by, and we just gave up and just cancelled the request, as it was clear we weren't going to get anything of value from this company.
Most of this could've been forgiven if they just had the decency to call and explain what was going on, or at the very least been willing to simply answer their phone.
Great experience overall in trying circumstances. Definitely went the extra mile to make sure the right type of truck showed up (roller w dolly vs flatbed) since my vehicle could not get into neutral. Communicated the entire process. Much appreciated.
Highly recommend. The owner Scottie came to my rescue today as I got myself into a pickle on a residential road. My car was stuck on the shoulder leaning into a ditch and my tires couldn’t catch any traction in the snow to drive myself out. It was not a typical tow situation, but Scottie came up with a plan to get me out. I was nervous my car was going to slip further into the ditch but Scottie was so calm and professional, I felt confident in his approach. After a few attempts, my car was back on the road. I could not be more grateful for this company’s timeliness and experience to get my car out safely. THANK YOU!!
Edit: Scottie if you read this, just know you could have gotten the car out on your first attempt. However, when I initially got stuck there I engaged my emergency brake. I had forgotten all about it and realized after you drove away. My bad.
Our 17 year old was in an accident. We were all a little shook up. Charlie went over and beyond to help us and put us at ease. He was kind, professional, and provided exceptional service! Thank you Charlie for being so kind and amazing! We HIGHLY recommend Tyson’s Towing and Charlie!!!
