These guys are the best! Got a flat and was stranded on the side of the road and the nice man got to me in less than 10 mins and towed me to the tire shop for a super good rate. I would have spent over a $100 more and waited at least an hour with other companys i will only use Smittys from here on out.
The guy was nice today but I'm a woman with my husband's 2021 Silverado crew cab and a flat tire .he asked me how to open tail gate and where are the tools? I have no idea? So he drove up in a Yukon and left me with a flat and told me to go to tires plus 😂 the owners Manuel in the glove box but never looked at it..it happened at my apartment so I don't know if I was out on the road ...He was 30 mins late..

He had multiple places to recommend for mechanics work (all were highly rated) and was able to provide really helpful insight on the possible repairs the car would need. They even waited with me for my Uber to arrive so I wasn’t stranded on the side of the road- best tow experience I ever had. Highly recommend!!!
Smitty is such a blessing and relief. Straightforward, punctual and professionally personable. The Minnesota weather really doesn't phase him and customers safety was his priority. I sent an email in the middle of the night and they replied quickly, and came the next day to help me do jump start. The price is also acceptable. Nice!
Called to get my truck towed and speaking with the guy I began to tell him that my boyfriend would be riding with him to drop off my truck. He rudely interrupted me stated “Why your boyfriend not calling?” After I told him it was my truck.... I put my guy on the phone and he’s talking with him he asked if he could set up to get my car towed to the shop, he stops him in mid conversation and says “NOPE CAN’T DO IT!” Horrible 😡😡
Gentleman was on time (within 15 minutes) and spent extra time getting the vehicle where I wanted it in the delivery drive (on a hill, with a curve). Price was what we discussed with no surprises. Good towing experience. Vehicle was a diesel one ton pickup.
Never showed! Called to tell me they were 30-45mins out, at the hour he said within 20minutes. After 2hrs of waiting in total never showed and didn’t answer the phone when checking up on status. @$$holes
Called and got my car jumped in less than 20 minutes. Tech put up with my less than helpful directions, still found me and got everything taken care of very efficiently. Would recommend and will definitely use in the future.

Unsure of who I spoke with nor do I care. They were very unprofessional. But I had called my insurance company to get me a tow company. It had said they would be here at a time. I call 20 minutes after the time. I asked if they got the case and they said no I don't know who you are. I explained who I was. And they said well unless you want to pay out of pocket we cant do anything for you. So I said Ill call my insurance company to see what is going on. The insurance company calls me and I tell them what is going on. They tell me they just got off the phone with the tow company and they said they were busy with police calls and other stuff. And would not be able to take the case.
Quick response. Fair price. Professional driver. Straight to the point. I have no complaint about how they handled my call and request. Are they any better than other companies? I am not sure. They didn't do anything better or worst than what I expected. One thing I can say: they were quick to respond compared to other calls on a day when there were lots of calls due to icy road conditions.
Great guy. Was a little put off at first because coming out of the shop. I was just trying to help out. But after listening to him. I understood why he didn’t want me to help. Great guy! Called through State Farm for a tow. Said ETA was around 90 minutes. Waited for an hour, then attempted to call twice. Went straight to voicemail. Called State Farm about it, and they tried calling a few times. Went straight to voicemail for them too. Got a text saying the tower was experiencing delay, and to wait 15 more minutes. My car was suppose to be picked up around 11pm. It’s 1:23am and they’re still not picking up the phone. State Farm has to call another provider now. Would never recommend this company.
Called for a tow around 12pm, they said they’d be able to send someone out. Around 1 I called again and he said he’d call once someone was there. Around 4:30 I called again letting him know I was at work and if someone were to call I most likely couldn’t Andrew and so my sister was going to call and pay and the man was very rude basically yelling on the phone saying have her call have her call. She calls around 6 and they tell her to call in the morning because no one was there. Next day she calls at 8am, gives them her card information to pay and they said they call when someone will be on their way. It’s now 4:30 and I’ve called 5 times throughout the day and no one is answering. I’ve called a new tow and they’re helping me. I keep trying to call to cancel this one but no one is answering and the mailbox is full. Would never want to recommend this place to anyone I’m very upset.
I got a flat tire on 94 between the Vandalia and Smelling exits during rush hour. The driver was there in record time and ready to help! I had ordered a tow because I didn't think I had a spare (yes, I'm that kind of adult), while awaiting the truck I decided to look in my owners manual and found out the spare was actually under the front end of the van. So, I dug out the tools needed to get the spare unhooked from their secret compartment and got it down from the van. The driver was just fine with switching from a tow to a tire change and I think I might even be able to do a tire change on my own next time after watching him...
Or maybe I'll just give Smitty's a call. Totally worth the price!
Intially called State Farm to get roadside assistance and I was told to get a tire changed it would take 80 minutes for service company to get to me. I called Smitty Big Towing and Recovery after doing a quick google search. The service man said he would be to me within 3 minutes and sure enough he was. Maybe took 10/15 minutes tops to have the tire swapped out and be on my way. The service man was VERY professional, thorough, and provided great service. Would highly recommend!
Had a great experience with Smitty Big Towing when I got a flat on the way to work. Was there within time estimate after my insurance company finally got their end figured out. Loaded up my lowered and modified car onto the flatbed without issue, and towed it to my house. If I ever need a tow again, they will be my first call. Thanks!
Awesome service, they came out immediately when they found out I had children. The other tow company my insurance company called never showed up. Everyone else told us it would be 7 hours because of the blizzard. Thank you to the very nice driver, you have no idea how much we appreciated your service.
I would never recommend using Smitty's. I was told first it would take 30 minutes and took over 1.5hrs ..then he pulled off without gvg me a rcpt after being rude as well. Once I got the rcpt it had someone else's name on it! It's now taking what will be a week on Saturday for a corrected version. Highly unprofessional and very very rude. I even tipped $15! Pissed! Insurance company will not refund me without a correct rcpt! Wld rate 0 if it were possible!
I'd never worked with a towing company before and was a little fearful of shopping via the internet for this service. I was so pleasantly surprised by my experience working with Smitty's! I called and coordinated a time. They were prompt, extremely courteous, respectful of my time, and incredibly reasonably priced!! I hope I don't have to tow my car again soon. But..if I do, I know who I will call first!
Fantastic experience. Very responsive, polite, and not too expensive. Went from Roseville to Coon Rapids with a minivan - cost about $145. I would use them again, though I hope I don't need to. :)
Excellent - I had a flat tire on the way to work. A coworker picked me and I left my car. I called at 10:45 and was hoping they could change the tire and be done by 1 pm. They were great! They said no problem and 12:55 they were done and actually drove my fixed car to my work! They were fast, polite and professional. I will use them again if I have more issues with St. Paul's pot holes!!
Best in the business!....I've used this company for all of my car emergencies. I sold them my old junk car, that broke down on the busiest corner in St.Paul, I 94 and Snelling!...He was quick and made it look easy. There was No hassle and finagling. Another time was locked out of my car, no problem. I needed a tow for car repair, no problem. I'm not thinking of calling Anyone else. I gotchu on speed dial Smitty. 😀
He was very kind and efficient. I didn't have a key to the car, yet he made no scratch on the car when it was a front wheel drive car. Plus he was very funny so I never felt uncomfortable during the process. Thank you!! I highly recommend this man!
