Waited outside for 15 mins because they didn’t open until 8am. When 8am hit I went in, I explained to Eric that I’ve been experiencing a rough ride in my Cadillac. I was trying to get around to asking him, if someone was available to hop in and ride with me, so I could show him what I meant by rough. However, he began questioning what I meant by rough in a kind’ve rude way. “What’s rough mean? Bad wheel bearings, loud when you go over bumps, doesn’t run, tires flat?” (If it didn’t run or had flat tires how’d I get there?) I know the difference between someone who wants to help vs someone who’s truly not interested in helping, but has to act like they are. I’m a black male. This morning I wore a du-rag & a hoody. Not sure, if this played a part in how I was treated. However, I have a Cadillac that’s under warranty, so great customer service would’ve earned your company funds I’m sure. I made sure to explain to Eric after taking his card that I only came to his shop because I read the 5 star reviews online & I prefer to spend my money where amazing customer service is served!
Hakes did a fantastic job when I took my car in for repairs. I needed my defroster working and they fixed it quick! Theyre honest and affordable and for me right around the corner! If I ever need help again I know where to go.
We've used Hake's a couple times now and have been very happy with the service. First was for a sudden and unusual thing, but nothing really ended up being wrong. They were very honest and didn't try to talk us into anything. More recently we had a bigger job done and they explained the cost, why it was needed, etc very clearly. They answered all of our questions and were good about communication, especially making sure we knew our car would be there for several days.
I've brought my car here a few times, and every time it's been an easy experience with honest mechanics. Very upfront about what needs to be done immediately, and what can wait. I don't see myself bringing my vehicles anywhere else.
Another 5 star review. We have used Hakes for about 2 years now. Always a great price, honest great to deal with. I know how to work on cars but am getting lazy in old age. I usually know what needs to be done before we take a car in. Never have they tried to recommend anything that did not need to be done. Our extended family now uses Hake's. Try them once and you will have found your new auto mechanic!
Very awesome place brought them in to fix my truck and it barley even ran Dan called me every time somthing came up with a plan to fix and brought it back multiple times go get other work done was all done in a timely manner have already been spreading a good word about them to friends and family will always plan to go back again!

It is so hard to find a mechanic that you can trust. Every time I bring my car in for service, I know that I am getting honest answers with a great price. As a woman, and a member of the community in general, I cannot tell you how much that means to me. I always recommend this place to family and friends.
Brought my moms Honda CRV here. They were patient with us to due to a couple times we had to bring it in, but Dan is very polite and honest. Will keep bringing vehicles here for the future! Definitely well recommended.

What can I say about Hake's that all these previous five-star reviews haven't?! This is truly a one-of-a-kind auto repair shop. The owner, Eric, along with Jack and all other mechanics have always exhibited top notch customer service and knowledge of issues/repairs. They prioritize you and they make you feel valued. They take the time to explain and provide options. You don't feel rushed, pressured or like 'a number'. You will never be price-gouged here either. The rates are easily fair and the work/parts are quality. They don't just offer repair services, I get routine maintenance performed here also, with the same stellar results. After many years of struggling to find an even quasi-decent mechanic shop and wasting tons of time/energy/MONEY in the process...I feel extremely fortunate to have found Eric's shop. Found out about Hake's Auto from a close friend. Overall, it was a great experience with Eric! Honda Dealership had quoted me an emense amount to change all four of my brake pads. Jack at Hake's was our hero! We were visiting the Twin Cities all the way from Tennessee and had a serpentine belt break while in the Mall of America parking lot. Stranded 900 miles from home and with a tight schedule, you can imagine the stress! We got towed in to Hake's (thanks to Mark's Towing, also a great experience) at 4:45 PM on a Thursday. Everywhere else we called said it would be until Monday when they could get us a repair, but Jack said he would try to get it done same day! We felt really cared for and Jack was able to get us going again in less than 30 minutes, even calling in a favor to get a needed part brought over to the shop for us. Hake's is definitely the real deal!
Great service and very professional employees. Our suv was quoted for a price to repair the PTU and wheel bearing and we took the vehicle in for repairs the price was cheaper than the estimate. We will definitely be back for any more future repairs as Eric treated us so well and now gained our business for life.
Eric was wonderful. Professional, kind, and explained things in detail to me and cared about me as a person. This is an unusual trait in today's auto industry. He will take care of my van for the rest of its life.

Both my wife and I had our cars serviced there recently. And in both cases, we were impressed with all aspects of the service -- work quality, communication about the issue(s), and especially the pricing. Whatever the opposite of nickel-and-diming is -- that's what you get at Hake's. We're fairly new to the area and glad we gave them a try. Will continue to bring our cars there for any maintenance.
How nice it is to find an auto repair shop that is all about customer service. My 85 year old mom had a gas leak under her Caravan and we were referred to Eric Hake at Hake’s Auto repair in Bloomington. We called him to see how soon he could look at the van and he got us in within a couple hours. There was a line leaking (fast) and he dropped what he was doing and helped us right away. The cost for the repair was probably half of what most places would’ve charged us to even look at it and we would’ve had to leave it there for three or four days. To be able to get any car repair done on a Friday is typically impossible. Thank you Eric for doing such a great job, getting it done so quickly and at a reasonable price.

Eric is the best. He always gets the job done punctually and great. I had a car issue on a friday he was closed until monday. Even though he was pretty booked we got my car in and fixed in around 3 hours. Definitely the best mechanic I've ever been too.
The customer service was amazing at Hake’s. I was in MN on a vacation and my check engine light came on. Hake’s reviews led me to calling him. He got my car right in and was so kind and helpful. He truly went out of his way to fix my problem and us back to our vacation. He was very trustworthy.

Eric was friendly and knowledgable. He made repairs on my wifes 02 buick lesabre. He is honest to the point that he told me I didn't need expensive parts that another mechanic wanted me to buy.
