I went in with a truck bed full of aluminum windows screens. They told me to take all of the aluminum out of my truck cut out the screen material then put all the aluminum back in the truck and drive over the scale, then dump all the aluminum again, I told him Have a good day. Worst place ever.
Chris that runs the yard is rude and unhelpful. He barely does the minimum and definitely doesn’t go above and beyond. Not friendly at all and makes the whole experience unpleasant.
Ive gone to a few scrap recycling centers and this one is the best. Always very helpful in helping you get the most return, where other places will rush you past. Hannah was so knowledgeable and really kept things moving today while I was there.

I had an excellent experience at this scrap yard! Everything was organized, clean, and very professional. The standout was the scale buyer, Koven, who went above and beyond to make sure I understood exactly what I was bringing in. He took the time to explain the different types of material, how they’re graded, and even gave me tips on how to prepare my scrap so I could get the best payout possible. You can tell he really knows his stuff and genuinely wants customers to leave satisfied. If you’re looking for a place that’s fair, transparent, and customer-focused, this is the spot. I’ll definitely be coming back!
This is by far by favorite scrapyard compared to any of the other ones I've been to previously. Excellent customer service, clean yard and an overall easy process. A couple employees that stand out for going above and beyond are Hannah and Chris.
Love when men rip women off! Had a whole bucket of copper that I had gone through and the guy dismissed it as aluminum! Even went back and showed him one of the things from the bucket and he said " oh well".
Delivery dry van, is worse nightmare u park u truck, wait someone to say come in dock, is not real dock, is just waste time, one seems to happy working here, they will ignore u, 4 hours now, receiving hours, 10:00 am to 14:00pm I got here 11:30am now is 14:30pm sometimes I feel like some people they don’t understand, time is money,
Called around for someone to buy my 2003 Chevy Tahoe for scrap. Read a lot of reviews about various companies not honoring their quoted prices. Seems it can be a pretty shifty business.
But I called this company yesterday and got a cash quote for $600. They showed up on schedule today, got the vehicle up on a flatbed in short order and paid me with 6 crisp $100 bills. The driver, Steve, was easy going, professional and just plain friendly.
I couldn't be more satisfied with the whole transaction.
Had 2 scrap vehicles hauled out and everything went very smooth thanks to Austin and Dejaun. Very polite, courteous, great communication and worked around my schedule. Highly recommend them!
If I could give 0 stars to the customer service I received from an employee named Jacob, I would. Very rude and unprofessional. Very picky about the materials, brushing me off as if I'm not a valued customer of the Livonia Pandos.
Would be five stars if not for crane operator here. I was doing 20mph exiting yard once and he berated me like a child. Screaming that he tells me everyday not to speed. I only even go there once every two weeks. Another time, getting in my truck to leave I lit up a smoke; it’s almost a reflex for me at this point. Again, he screamed and yelled at me about not smoking and how he’s told me 100 times not to, which is not true. I was unloading schedule 80 black pipe, he called the manager saying I was dumping pots and pans. I understand it’s a scrap yard and he’s not going to look professional or clean, but I don’t expect to be sworn at, threatened and belittled as a regular customer. I have a good relationship with the guy there whose job it is to enforce the rules. Actually I have a good relationship with everyone else there; sad one bad apple spoils the bunch. I’ve been going here a decade, since it was GLR.
Got rid of a scrap vehicle that was just sitting around and just taking space up in my driveway I worked with Austin had great communication from start to finish fast service on time pick up of the schedule he gave me into the end of pickup then followed up the next day what a message to make sure everything went well he was a pleasant person to work with and to deal with
I love the guys here. Such a nice easy service. Worked with Austin and referred a lot of people and will continue you too. Always satisfied with the work received from here.
I went in to drop off a bunch of clean scrap aluminum today and just left in disbelief of what an unorganized disaster the place is. We've never used this company, but we figured we'd try it out. There is absolutely zero signage directing you where to go, what scale to weigh in on, who to speak to, or anything you'd expect to see. Weigh in on the wrong scale and you get told to go to the one 30' over. You have my recorded weight, what does it matter?! Then, you get some idiot in a vest yelling at you where to go. I said nope, I'm out. I'd rather unload 2,000 lbs of material by hand and reload it next week than deal with that disaster. We won't be trying here again despite this company being significantly closer.
Good yard but they have gotten a little crazy with holding up the line to go through every little piece and the down grading of material. I can't imagine financially it is the best move for them as I have witnessed the regulars go to different yards and overall they must be doing less volume. One bright spot is Hannah. She is the best and always keeps things moving!
The place is great I personally know someone who works there higher-up in the company. What I don't understand is why they have the most unfriendly people dealing with the public. God forbid the young lady working stop her dirty conversation with he male coworkers to do her job it's sad this is where we are at in society. Instead of how can I help u its what do u want sad
Place should be closed down!!! False advertising, waited almost a week with promise after promise of we will be there by noon or five NEVER SHOWING UP!!! Lie after lie, was set up with them through peddle. I believe that they are in cohosts together. After calling them 10 times I’m told that they can get another carrier to come out but the offering price went from 430 -270. When asked who would make up the difference to what I’ve agreed to, I was basically told I’m SOL. I will be contacting the state & the bbb to report BOTH OF THEM
Worst scrap yard I've been too hands down. Stood in line with literally 3 people in front of me for almost an hour. I get up there and takes another 15 mins to weigh 1 cart...employees are standing around doing nothing but joking. Music blaring and worst of all after printing my ticket he said there was a mistake and took another 5 mins to "fix it" handed me a ticket almost a dollar below per pound than regular market price. Will never be back and telling all my fellow electricians about this place.
I junked a car here, and the staff were real nice! Very helpful! I got a higher amount here than at other places. They came and picked up that same day! I would recommend!
I had received a low ball offer and almost dismissed them. It occurred to me tho' that maybe I had given them the wrong info...that I didn't have the title which was found. I had a higher offer and contacted that co for pick up. No response... the day went on and the other co never called me back. Another Company had been texting me with a much higher offer but I couldn't get them to confirm the time of pick up. I'd send a text back and have to wait an hr or longer for a response via text.
GLR ended up calling me to schedule my pick up at the time that I could be home to give them my title and key. I thought it was the higher offering company finally calling me back. When I confirm the offer they matched it, came on time and off my vehicle went! Very professional company. I'm glad I dealt with them. The 1st company contacted me 2 days later inquiring when they could get my vehicle. Hmmmm....It's gone!
Steven went out of his way to accommodate me, and offered friendly and courteous service. Chip, the driver, was fast and comfortable, even in the snow. I'll miss my Winston, but can't recommend this service highly enough.
It was a great experience. They were thorough and polite over the phone. The tow truck driver was also very nice. They stayed true to their word i.e arrived on time and paid the amount we agreed to. Definitely recommend.
I had a very old car that finally died and needed to be rid of. It was a very quick and convenient process with GLR. I filled out an online quote and they called me within an hour and set up an appointment to tow my car. All I had to do was hand them my keys and title when they arrived, and I got some cash in return!
