Certainly not the friendliest people I ever dealt with. I was looking for a special size freshwater tank for my Proline boat. One of the guys said to go look in the storage trailer on the left side of the yard. I found only 2 and one was cracked and the other was too small. I know they have to have more than that but the place was a giant mud hole. One of the guys was trying to drive his ATV into the back of the property and was flinging mud everywhere. I figure I will go back after the ground freezes.
You certainly can’t beat the prices on the used parts, finding what you need can take hours but the place is interesting to wander through.
Hand down absoultely the best place to take your boat for service, the people are very nice and very knowledgeable! Recommend them to anyone! Great amazing people and service!!
Checker is such a cool place! I’ve been there several times over the years and always leave satisfied. While the inventory may be a tad disorganized, a little searching will always get you what you need. Friendly and helpful staff, great prices.
It started with three week backlog, they ended up having by boat for four months… they did a compression check and they said I needed a complete rebuild motor… I paid $5400 for a complete rebuild and when I got it back I had to take it back to them because they forgot to do two other things that was on that was on the write up sheet and my trim gauge was not working. I got it back in the beginning of November. They said bring it back. They’ll fix all of that and give me a free winterize…. It went from rebuild to winterize only one year warranty. This was in 2021. By the time I got my break in Time in in 2022. There was all kinds of problems with this rebuild and the warranty expired …very shady!!!!!, and the guy in charge always was apologizing and making excuses about all of their mistakes…. Now my boat is at a another Marine center and they’re going to find out if they even rebuilt this motor or not because it don’t even go past 3900 RPM and it’s rated for 4600. It used to be a 60 mile an hour boat and I can barely hit 45 will never use this company ever again and I don’t advise anybody else. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not good at answering phones, and when I finally did get a hold of them, they claimed they don’t have outboard motor parts. At least I didn’t make the 60 mile drive there just to find that out.
All the guys at Checker Marine were top-notch I drove 800 miles to get there and pick up some things and everybody there treated me like an old friend was very impressed I'm telling everybody down here in Arkansas to contact them for all their parts needs
Nice people easy to work with but the part was the wrong one. Had to drive back there ( 1.5 hrs one way ). Again very easy to work with. Good people would use them again.
Absolutely fantastic service very knowledgeable explains everything and also tells you what to look for can't thank them enough for what they have done for me
They stole my speakers out of my boat and they were supposed to rebuild and replace my motor and all the did was replace the impeller didn't fix nothing terrible business I will never go here again and you shouldn't either
Very helpful people. The junk yard is quite extensive, all boats from the 70-80-90-99's is in there, and there is all the parts you could ever want for mercruisers engines, I/O, and many other engines, it is truly a boat junk yard.
Very good service I had a broken skeg brought it in on Tuesday they said it would be ready by the end of the week and they honored their word very professional had a great experience with them
Drove up last Saturday as no one would answer the phone. My GPS said Checker would be closing 1 hour after my arrival. When I got there it was closed, never opened on Saturday, July 25, 2020. There was another guy sitting @ the locked gate who said he'd been waiting there since 9:00 AM. He had driven from Warren Michigan, a 67 mile one way trip, that's BS, I was upset that I drove 20 minutes! 😡
Purchased a upper and lower refurbished/rebuilt from you last year since then I've replaced the impeller twice had to replace the seals in the lower also found bearings mounted in backwards causing me all these issues this season... when I showed up to have you honor the warranty you gave me 20$ off a $200 dollar part. Ive spent $700 in repairs to the garbage you sold me.... thanks
Very rude and was laughed at when asked if they had boat engine parts by the woman answering their phones. No knowledge of anything and very rude!!! Steer clear and head to Coldwater!!! Better professionals with more knowledge and customer care at at better price!!!
Prices are a little high but that's what you get when you own a boat. The staff is extremely helpful and very nice. The store is really clean and organized.
