Very helpful and courteous. I brought in a bit of scrap and when she inspected it, she told me that the several brake rotors I had paid better and gave me the option to weigh them separately from the rest. At the time of this writing, brake rotors paid $120 more per ton than general scrap. Brenda was helpful in getting me the most money for the junk I had lying around the yard. Highly recommended.
The rules and pay rates have changed so much over the year's... Since Louis Padnos passed... it's NOT the scrap yard it was. It's often better to go further, if you want top price for scrap
Went there to buy a few pieces of scrap metal for a small project. I was RUDELY told that “We don’t sell to the public anymore.” When I asked why, I was told, “Well, that’s just our policy now.” That’s absolutely ridiculous. Scrap steel is sold to the public at a much higher rate than what they get for scrap steel. This is a small community, not a major metropolitan area. I will never go back there, and will drive elsewhere with any scrap from now on.
My wife and I were shorted for 60 pounds of copper…refused to make it right all because it was close to 4 o’clock and somebody didn’t want to do their job. would have saved the copper for another time seeing how I was laid off from my job right before Christmas and needed the money to feed my wife and daughters 2 years old and 2 month old. Hate to be that guy but what a joke watch what you bring in and prices reflected. Poor costumer service.
Overall a decent experience.
The good: Got rid of electronics that have been piling up for a while and went home with $8 for my items.
The bad: Attendant was extremely rude for this first timer at a recycling center.
Will I go back? Probably not because of the rudeness by the attendant. Thought I was doing good by recycling but don’t need to be talked down to by a scrap yard employee.
Thought they were strict but good went several time in last 2 months BUT TODAY was horrible!! I had things seperated on the cart, he threw a bunch of my aluminum as metal I let him know that they were aluminum and he said the magnet stuck to it! He didnt use one, and then tells me I should separate better. Even if that's what you feel if Im telling you its NOT metal ANYWHERE ANYONE else would have checked! Nope he didnt! Went to get paid and the small amount I was given was horrific because he gave me prices i NEVER should have gotten the BD prices i was paid! Wnt 2 tell someone &was told I should buy bins to keep seperate lol Detroit workers come to WORK to WORK NOT 2 RIP PPL OFF WONT BE BacK EVER felt like I was robbed!
Padnos is the best recycling locations that I have been to. Customer service is wonderful. The lady behind the counter is outstanding and kind person that I've ever met.
First time visiting this business. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Little confusing when first entering the area, but staff was able to guide me to where I needed to go.
Last time going there, yard guys are great, but the woman in the office is their downfall. I will taking all my scrap to Fair Salvage in Chase from now on.
Padnos Pere Marquette division of steel and other ferus metal receiving has been very good to deal with over the last 20 years!! They have been able to pay well and also donate in the community for all things that go on!! They also run a few other scrape yards in the state of Michigan!!
They take old card and trucks to compact also old freezer and stove's.
We also get a few pieces of steel there too if need too. Sometimes bringing home more then we came with.
Also it's nice and close to drop things off. Been a staple in the community for a long time!
