Just had the front brakes done on my Jeep. They were honest about what needed to be done and didn’t over charge - example: for my tire rotation they only charged for 1/2 as two tires were already off. They got me in quick and delivered on time as promised.

We had a positive experience with Dorr Standard Service in Dorr, MI. When our alternator failed on a Saturday afternoon, we were stuck in the Subway parking lot. Greg towed our minivan to their shop, and I was told it would be repaired by Tuesday. Joey ordered the part on Monday and had it installed on Tuesday as promised. The price was as quoted, and the work was finished on time. Overall, we were satisfied and would recommend them.

Gotta love when a professional business says one thing and does another. Why even make arrangements to do something when this company has no recard for doing what they said. Amazing people with more authority don't care about other people.

On my way home from visiting my wife in the hospital, I ended up going off the road. They came to the crash site and ended up saving my van from doom and helping me get it back on the road for a fair fee. They could have run me up on impoundment, but didn’t. He even showed me a safer route home. The honesty and hard work that man from Dorr showed is the rarest kind of ethic and decency, I just pray that their kind of help will be around a long time. A great thanks to Dorr Standard Service for their hard work and integrity!

I called in advance to find out when the earliest I could take in my vehicle for a used car inspection was and I was told on the phone by either the owner or head mechanic that at 8:30am the next day they should be able to look at it, I did ask if there were other times, I was informed 8:30 was the only time they would have a hoist available. When I called they did not sound like they were taking down any information, they didn’t ask for any either, I had given my first & last name as well as the year, make, and model of the vehicle. I brought my vehicle in on time, the lady at the register seemed confused when I told her I was there to bring in my vehicle, after asking if I was picking up a vehicle I was able to correct her and the rest of the process went mostly normal, I filled out my info on a small paper and a card for my keys, she put her hand on the paper while I was writing, this was odd. I left my vehicle and saw it inside around 12:30/1pm I called to check on the status, I was told to wait while they checked and then told it hadn’t been brought in which I was astounded by because I physically saw that it was inside the building without a doubt, so I told them and they double checked and said that it hadn’t been looked at, then I was told there wasn’t any available hoist, I accepted this at the time and was quite frustrated because of what I was told the day before. I called back roughly 1-2.5 hours later and was immediately told it hadn’t been looked at, at this point I believe I may have been a bit rude, but I was outraged and stayed firm that since they had essentially lied to me the day prior that I would just pick up my vehicle without having it looked at, it should have been done by now, this was completely unorganized, the woman on the phone repeatedly told me not to pick up my vehicle and to wait while she checked on it, she then proceeded to say my car would be looked at next, I repeated that I’m picking up my vehicle, it should have been done today, I had called prior to bringing it in and this was not reassuring info since there was no time frame given, I was told to not get my vehicle again and to wait, I was told that it will be done by 5pm; I informed the woman that I will call at 5pm if I don’t hear anything and I will take my vehicle, she expressed understanding, I thanked her then ended the call. I got a call around 3:30pm informing me the vehicle was looked at, I was told what issues were found and that overall the vehicle was in good condition, the mechanic that called told me about the vehicles high mileage as if I hadn’t noticed it before, his tone came across as if I were dumb or a little crazy, he lingered on it for a moment longer than he did anything else. I let the mechanic know I wanted a quote of everything he thought would need repaired, he expressed understanding, I asked for verification that the vehicle was done & ready for pickup, he confirmed. I immediately went to get my vehicle which mostly appeared to be in the same condition that I brought it home in. I will note that I saw a latch on one of my little seats in the second row appeared to be broken in unusable condition, and the next day I went to leave in the vehicle I heard dragging noises as I was pulling out of my driveway to discover that some plastic piece from the front end was dangling down, I didn’t drive after bringing it home (5min drive). I can’t confirm that they broke the seat latch as it was a used vehicle that I had just bought and it had been at least 24hrs since I had looked over everything myself, however they were the only ones to touch anything under the hood, they are the only ones who could possibly be responsible for the dragging plastic. The cost for the inspection was $60 which I do think is an acceptable price, the service I received was unacceptable and they will be an absolute last resort for any future repairs/inspections. They can do better, they have in the past.

I needed to have an emergency tire repair as my 2019 carries no spare. Within a very short wait did a great job and back on the road again! Wonderful, friendly people

$250 to mount and balance 4 tires is absolutely ridiculous. Bought 4 tires elsewhere brought them in got them mounted and told me the price afterwards. I've gone here my whole life for tire repairs and swaps ect never paid more than $20 a tire.

it was ok, my car needs the water pump, thermostat, tension pulley and the belt along with it. im still waiting for a call back for a quote. belle tire wants over 1600. im on disability and work part time just to survive. if my car dies, i loose income i need to survive. its been over 2 weeks.

I recently had my 87 F250 towed down to their shop to get it diagnosed. It turned out to be the starter (that’s what I was told) I also asked if they could install a few parts that I had for the truck, but they told me no, because of liability reasons. In my head I was thinking I was just getting a starter installed & that would be it. I was never informed on what was going on with my truck or given a quote other then “it needs a starter” (I called several times for an update & all I got was “it’s not done” Turns out they installed the parts they “couldn’t” install & charged me 130$ for a tow when my truck was only 13 minutes from their shop. My truck was at their shop for a month & I called several times asking how it was going & each time some lady would just tell me “it’s not done”. No information on what’s going on with my truck or what was being installed on it or a quote. The guy who picked up my truck was a nice guy, but the office lady & the owner are a joke when it comes to communication. They basically just took my truck told me it needed a starter then did a bunch of other stuff to it without contacting me about it & didn’t give me a quote before doing the work. The price ended up being way more then I could afford & now I am screwed.

You can tell they work fast and efficiently. Had a problem with the actuator disc for the vent system in our van. They got it done quickly and the price tag was less than I expected.

Called to see about available days and times mid-sentence was rudely cut off, rest of the phone call consisted of me being spoken at instead of spoken to. Seems like she was more eager to get off the phone than to have a conversation with a customer. Once the phone call ended I called a different shop, took my money elsewhere and will recommend others to do the same.

I take my cars here to get fixed. Always get honest answers. I never worried about them lying to me. They can be a little slow with fixing your car but the honesty is worth it.

I was quoted at and agreed upon $525 on the phone, but was handed a bill for almost $800 when I went to pick up my car. This was due to a part that I was not made aware of at some point. The work was all done and (so far) all problems addressed, but an extra 300 at the register was a shock.

Shout out to the gentleman driving flatbed truck 21 on 5.18.22 at 10pm, Byron Center. Just saw him drop my disabled elderly neighbor off and not only assist him out of the truck but to his door. You just warmed my heart and made me feel there are decent people left!! Thank you for going the extra mile, above and beyond!!!

Stopped in to get tires for my son's car. The guy, Jeff, was helpful. Explained my tire options and let me decide what i wanted to do. Not any pressure to buy the expensive tires. In and out pretty quick. I'll be sure to talk them up. Great experience !! thanks again

never again. first time they made my lug nuts so tight I had to use a breaker bar with my jack handle to remove the lug nuts. the next time I told them that my passenger side rear tire was going flat and I needed it looked at. They called to let me know it was done. got there and they said they did the drivers side because the dash said that was the lowest psi.... even though it was definitely the passenger side. I had to leave it again for them to do it right. when I went to pick it up they charged me for a tire repair for both sides even though I told them which one was bad.

I’ve gotten multiple oil changes done here and it was pretty good service. However, I just moved to Nevada from Dorr and I drove +2,500 miles across the country. Before I left I got a new tire, and tire rotation done. We just put my car up to look at a few things and do another oil change, come to find out they left a vice grip on my front tire rod... I drove across the country in and out of mountains with this on my tire rod. Thankfully nothing happened but seriously? I feel like that’s a stupid mistake made by rushing or not checking your work.

Had rims changed on a Saturday afternoon and the tech stated he broke one of my TPMS sensors and to comeback the following week to get it replaced. Went back the next week to get it replaced and was informed they won’t replace it from there mistake and it would cost 125 dollars. I do not recommend using them and to go to a more reputable and professional tire shop.

Great service at the family owned an operated. Swapped a set of atv tires out. Done in less than an hour, all tires were mounted properly. A bit on the pricey side ten dollars per rim, an five per tire for disposal. Highly recommend!

I was on a trip coming back from Kalamazoo and my daughter van broke down in the Grand Rapids area, i called dorr Standard service and they had a recker to my location within 30 mins the owner was driving the truck and he was very professional and super nice. I had them also do the repairs at the shop, my daughter van was fixed within two days and I drove back down to pick it up. Price was very reasonable and when I walked in I was greeted by three different individuals. Very impressed!

I dropped off a small garden trailer tire that had a slow leak. The tech called and said the tire was bad. It would cost $20 for a new tire and $12 for labor. I said to wait to fix it because I only paid $60 for the trailer and wanted to see if I could find another solution before I had the repair done. I called back a few days later and the mechanic said it was fixed, $12 for a tube and $20 for labor (not even a new tire like I was originally quoted). I said I specifically asked to wait until I gave the go ahead. He was rude and condescending. He said, "when most people drop off a tire they want it fixed." Apparently, they ignore customer requests. He said, "if you want I'll take my tube out and you can come get your tire." I said OK and he hung up the phone on me. When I arrived the tube was still in the tire and he said no one would be there to take it out for 45 minutes and I'd have to wait for it even though he told me on the phone to come and get it . Apparently both managers were at lunch and no one could do anything for me. I've had a lot of bad customer service but this could be the worst.

We've only lived in Dorr for just over a year and this garage came recommended by a friend. I made an appointment for my husbands car to get the brakes bled and tires rotated for a Monday and the mechanic said it would be done same day. When my husband dropped his car off that Monday morning the lady he spoke to was confused why he was dropping his car off even though we made an appointment. We waited all day and heard back from mechanic finally that there were some issues with his brakes and ordered pads and rotors. We never received a call back on Monday about his car and Tuesday was a holiday so they were closed. Wednesday morning my husband called requesting a status update on his car. The lady that answered the phone gave my husband the impression that he was wasting her time and then she told him they didn't have a car of his make and model at the shop and suggested we called the wrong Dorr Standard (we literally live blocks away). My husband called back a second time later that day and got the same lady and she transferred him to the auto garage. He spoke to a mechanic and they said that when they took his car for a test drive they felt pulsating and said they were ordering another rotor as they thought the one they installed was bad. He said it would be done soon and would call us when it was ready. We never received a call back. We've driven past the garage several times between Wednesday evening and Thursday morning and have seen his car parked out in the lot. Now going on 4 days since we dropped the car off and nobody has called us or given us an update. My husband stopped in Thursday afternoon to ask about his car and it had been done since the evening before, but nobody called. His cost was also $40 more than previously quoted which isn't a huge amount but still not what was told to us. This has been a very frustrating and disheartening experience. Disappointed in the poor customer service and lack of follow up/through with our vehicle.

Nothing like id expect from a small town locally owned establishment. I could have gotten a better deal going to corporate owned tire shops, it took them 2 hours to mount a balance four tires from the time my car went in, to when I paid for the poor service, my wheels had tire lube/grease all over them and the customer service was terrible. Would not recommend to anyone.

The wife and I have been bringing our personal vehicles here for years. Oil changes, tires, brakes......., primarily maintenance work. We Have had some minor mechanical and electrical work done as well. Customer service and quality of work is very good. Vehicle Turnaround time is always better than expected.

Made an appointment to get car checked out before leaving for Florida. When I arrived was just laughed at by the BP gas station female clerk and some Service guy. They said no one could look at my car, that they were all out (except for the guy smirking at me in the station) and couldn't do anything for me. No apology and no calls from them earlier to let me know before I loaded up my kids in the car. Won't be taking my car here again--such rude customer service.

This company does not follow state regulations on informing the customer with a written estimate. They do not even call a customer with a verbal estimate. Plus, they replace parts that are not requested to be replaced and charge outrageous amounts for parts and labor. The up-charge for parts on just rear brakes I had done was double to triple the cost of purchasing them at a parts store. The only reason I had my brakes done here is because I have had good service on tire purchases in the past. But did have problems with them not balancing them correctly. I know how to change my own brakes, but because of all the snow this year I decided to give my business to this company which was a huge mistake.
