My car had a error code pop up at Cars and Coffee Grand Rapids and after checking with a few different towing places I decided to go with Swift. They were fast, experienced with exotic car low clearance and fairly priced.

This was a dissapointing first time towing experience. I drive an older vehicle that occasionally overheats at inconvenient times. On Sunday, I broke down a mile from my apartment and searched for the nearest towing company which led me to Swift Towing. I called, explained my situation, and was told that a truck would be by to rescue me shortly. I waited 40 minutes with no truck in sight when the address provided on their website was three miles from our location. I called back to get an ETA on when the truck would be arriving and was placed on hold for several minutes. They then proceeded to tell me that a truck would be arriving in the next 20-25 minutes, leading me to believe a truck was never on its way in the first place. When the truck arrived, there wasn't enough room in the cab for both me and my sister, so we had to ride in my vehicle on the back of the flatbed. My sister and I never felt unsafe because it was such a short distance, and we arrived at our destination with no issues. After we were dropped off, the very nice gentleman told us that "it would be on Swift Towing today". Because of this, I did not receive a receipt and hearing that it would be covered was a relief as we had been waiting for over an hour and I later learned after checking my account that I would've been charged $150 for the tow. I then checked my bank account today and saw that my card WAS actually charged the amount, so I immediately called to see what was going on. On the phone I was told that they don't know why the gentleman who towed me would say that, and basically I was going to be charged regardless. The reason for this was because the flatbed came from Grand Valley Towing in Grandville. This was not something that was communicated to me over the phone, nor were any prices for the service. I feel the biggest disappointment in all of this was the miscommunication between Swift Towing, Grand Valley Towing, and me. In the future, please be more transparent with your customers regarding wait time, pricing, and if the services will be provided by a different company.
