So I had a flat tire one day and I searched the closest auto shop. Thankfully I was just a block away from this one. I told the very kind older gentleman about my flat and he stopped was he was doing, told me to pull around, and he aired it up for me for free. It truly blessed me that day!! Seriously need more kindness like this in the world! Thank you so much again!
After leaving the Kalamazoo area, I’ve yet to find a mechanic like Furr Auto. I was reminded of how great Steve and Jack are recently when I took my mom’s car in for a noise it was making. They are honest, straight forward and incredibly knowledgeable. I trust what they are saying is in my best interest, every time. And I miss being able to take my car to their shop!
I moved to the area about a year ago and Furr was recommended by a friend. My transmission cable detached. When I called, the gentleman I spoke to on the phone upon me giving make/model informed me of a recall that I wasn't aware of. Manufacturer sent mobile service to repair for free. I appreciate his knowledge of recalls and honesty!
Steve & Jack always go out of their way to make sure their customers get a fair deal. They are informative on every aspect of their assessment of your vehicle and always have it fixed in a timely manner. They do not take advantage of people such as in many shops they sell you things you don't need. They are honest guys which is rare in today's auto repair market.
Their place may not have a fancy waiting room with free drinks and snacks but they clearly make up for it when you compare their prices to the exploitive glittery shops. Highly recommend Fur Auto as they have serviced all of my vehicles for almost 2 decades.
They are truly the only people I will ever take my car to. Trustworthy and genuinely care about their customers and won't tell you 500 things that MIGHT be a concern that you should DEFINITELY let them fix for an additional $2000
Furr Auto was the first place that has treated me fairly. If something needs to be done to my Honda, they provide options to repair and costs up front. Never higher than their quote and always a fair deal. I would not think to mltake my car anywhere else.
Best in the city. Half the time when I ask them to look at a problem they won't take my money (but I slip it to them anyway). Having the Toyota dealership tell me I needed several expensive repairs (several years ago), I took it to FURR for a second opinion. I needed none of those suggested repairs. Can't recommend Jack and Furr Auto highly enough. I've been with him for 25 years. I hope he lives forever :)
Dependable and honest service with reasonable prices is the best way to describe Furr Auto. I started coming here when I moved back to Michigan. I found out about Jack and Steve when I asked my father who he trusted to work on his cars. I figured,, if these guys were good enough to get dads approval, that's all I needed to know. I'll never go to another shop unless I absolutely have to.
This is hands down the best place in town to get your car worked on if you are worried about the honesty of your machanic. The fellow who runs this place is absolutely wonderful. If you don't need work done, he will tell you. And he seems to be very knowledgeable. He is a hidden gem here in Kalamazoo county. I especially recommend him to idiots like me who don't know a single thing about their car. Seriously, try him out. He's great. I wouldn't lead you astray.
I have never experienced a better auto repair shop experience. If they are booked out, they are worth the wait. I will be taking our car to furr again if needed. Thanks Furr for being Awesome!
They were quick to get me a quote and get me in for service. Took less than a day to get two ball joints done on my truck. Will definitely be returning.
Called to see how much it would be for a lower radiator hose replacement and installation of a water pump (which the pump would be provided) and was told, 'We don't do other peoples parts." And that was the end of the conversation. They obviously don't want business.
I would send my daughter there for automotive help. I go there & have done so for almost 30 years. Trust & honesty are the keys to repeat business. Furr automotive generates that in me with their experience &knowledge.
We took my mother's car down there he gave her a free estimate told her just what was wrong. He knew how to talk to people and is bedside manner was great plenty of parking Quick Service. He is a good old boy.
This place is amazing, the people here are very knowledgable and very true to their profession. Does not go after your money just keep very simple like a good doctor telling you what is wrong with you with simple terms. I enquired with well known car repair the estimate was 104$ v/s free diagnostic at this place. I am a fan now and you have a customer for long long time.
Jack and Steve are one the most honest people I’ve ever met. I brought my truck in to replace a wheel bearing and Steve explained to me that was only a bolt loose-which he tightened.... no charge.

Honest. Furr simply isn't out for the money. He gives good advice and takes care of the car/customer rather than charge the most expensive repair he can. Personally, I have had trust issues with Woodwards and Monro. Furr has saved me a ton of money, and I feel confident bringing my car there. I 100% recommend it.

Furr Auto Service was fantastic! I brought my car in for a regular tune-up in preparation for a cross country road trip. We made the appointment for 8am and it was ready by 1pm. They checked over everything, changed the oil and put in a new filter. The price was really reasonable, just under $80 for everything. I would definitely take my car back if I ever needed anything! Highly Recommend!
