We stopped in to find the perfect vintage light fixture for our 1930s home. Rodger went above and beyond to help us find a gorgeous chandelier that just needed a little TLC. (See middle photo.) It is evident that Rodger has expertise in salvage and restoration. He polished, repaired, and rewired this beauty so it was ready to install when we picked it up. We love wandering through his shop, and can’t wait to return to see what else we find for our home.

This place has a lot of variety. We were able to find some of the trim pieces that we have been looking for plus a gorgeous terra cotta door handle. There are a couple other items that we will go back for, when we have more time, to really look through everything.

Great place to look for unique vintage items, great staff, great signs on the entry door, great norfolk island pines in the window, check em out!

I had been wanting to visit this store for a while. I came in looking for some cabinet handles and found exactly what I wanted! What a treasure trove. I will definitely be back anytime I need some bits and bobs with character.

This place was a gem to explore. The man behind the counter was so kind and even let me have a bit of old chain links for free when I told him about the project I was using the chain for. Great atmosphere, I’ll definitely be coming back again for craft and home decor needs!

This is the best store ever. So many wonderful items and such warm and friendly owners.

I went here looking for nothing and was happy with the eye candy of all the beautiful things in this building! The chandeliers took my breath away. I didn’t get anything because I didn’t need anything, but we got to meet Murphy the dog and the people working in the store. They were so nice and had a sense of humor on them too. The street signs were tempting.

Incredible place. It’s like a hardware museum - except pieces don’t go here to die, they turn up here to get new life and live again. I wrongly assumed everything would be covered in rust and was so pleased to find this was not the case. Worth driving out of your way to visit for sure. Can’t say enough great things about this place, and the folks here are just absolutely top notch people too. Can’t wait to come back.

Got a chance to stop in here and my visit was great. There are alot of fascinating things here to look at.. Alot of things you don't see anymore. Many pieces were usable if you were looking to remodel a room in your house . You will definitely find pieces you don't see anymore. Pieces that were crafted in way that makes them unique.

Lots of antiques to find here and a pretty wide variety down to wood trim and beams if anyone owns an old house. Antique sinks, vents, knobs and the most beautiful chandeliers but very pricey especially since you can find similar chandeliers for a lesser price. Met their doodle and he/she was so sweet and soft seeing a fur baby is always a treat. There was a gun set out for sale and as we picked it up to look at It a worker proceeds to tell us to “leave it” because it was loaded. Kinda rude but I wouldn’t put a loaded gun out for sale for anyone to just grab but that’s just me. Huge mold issue in the basement so I wouldn’t purchase any wood work from down there and could possibly be a health hazard for those sensitive to spores.

Definitely has great stuff, even if you usually have to dig for it. But honestly, that's the point. We've gotten doors, trim and windows from here and got pretty much exactly what was needed every time. Yes, it feels pricey, and you have to put some elbow grease into it, but the last time I priced odd sized windows and solid wood doors at Lowes they weren't cheap either. They also lacked character.

One of the coolest stores in Kalamazoo! Great place to find old flooring, trim, windows, stained glass... pretty much anything awesome

Such a cool place to check out. The two gentlemen working were so helpful and gave me the information I needed for a project. Definitely a place to get items for an older homes or just wander through if visiting Kalamazoo!

It was my first time here and I almost immediately noticed this lantern. I wanted it badly but $325 is just way too much for me. I'd have to work a whole week to buy it and then skip paying my half of rent. At least I got a picture.

What a great store. We were looking for lighting fixtures for an old house and found exactly the right thing. It was a lot of fun to look at all the antique construction elements and downtown Kzoo is delightful.

This is the place to go if you want your house to become awesome. Came here with a buddy to get him some vintage doors for his house and we spent hours just searching through the options to find the right fit. And of course there's a huge selection of related door accoutrement for the perfect look. Prices are terribly reasonable and Rodger and the folks that run it are kind and knowledgeable.

The number of vintage, ready to use light fixtures, hardware, original windows, doors and screens, and more was awe inspiring. If you are into lighting from all eras, this establishment will knock your socks off. The proprietor is a super nice and knowledgeable fellow. The aquarium with the BIG catfish was a fun addition. The store interior and exterior are like a walk back in history.

We love this place! One of our favorite stops when we are out antiquing. The staff is always helpful, insightful, and personable. The owner has always greeted us, and has helped us with many different projects on restoring our 1940’s home. The store has a huge variety of vintage and antique architecture, household accents, and replacement parts: doors, corbels, locks (my favorite), doorknobs/handles, lighting, and furniture, plus smaller antique items (I saw a really cool typewriter the last time I was there). The company is also very involved in local issues, such as preserving architectural works of art and historical sites, and lots of information on these issues and what you can do to help can be found at the store on their posters and by talking with staff. Definitely a Kalamazoo favorite.

Very nice store, lots of interesting things with super helpful staff, lots of options, and the stock is super organized - normal humans could only achieve this level of organization while on adderall. The owner pulled out bins from the back for us to search through so we could get what we needed! If that were not enough, they watch out for the geese that frequent the area to make sure they don't get run over by careless drivers!

Love this place! So much stuff, sometimes I go just to look around. Other times it's to find things that I need for a remodel or project. The prices can be a bit high, but the owner is reasonable to negotiate with.

Steph was great let me browse for as long as I liked and pointed me in the direction of some fairly obscure things I was looking for. Was there for an hour ultimately bought two small items. Rather than charge my credit card for the $5 they let me have them with the promise to come back which I will not hesitate to do!

Called ahead and had excellent service on the phone. They did not disappoint when we got there. Everyone was helpful and friendly. Found the door I was looking for plus all the hardware. They made sure everything was working properly and that I had everything I needed. Not sure where some of these reviewers are shopping but I can tell you prices here are better than that "unlimited" place and the service is better. Going home to find another project and an excuse to shop here again. Thank you!

This place is awesome. We were looking for a strike plate similar to our 1940's house strike plates and we found one! We also found a great light fixture for our front entry. I will be going back looking for interior doors. You need to check this place out.

When trying to enjoy a day shopping I prefer not to have to see your political views. It's a free country, so you can display your beliefs, just as I can choose not to purchase from your company. I prefer to shop without having to have politics shoved down my throat as it is every time I log in online. I tried to reply to your message but it wouldn't allow me to so I edited my review. But me and my family will now just do our shopping elsewhere.

Excellent! We always visit when we're in Kalamazoo. So many unique finds and a very knowledgeable staff who cares about the treasures inside and the Kalamazoo community.

This place has so much potential, but is a cluster at best. Beautiful things, WWAAAYYY overpriced. It’s SO cluttered in there that you couldn’t possibly find what you were looking for if you tried. I’m giving it a 2 simply because it has a ton of great items. Unfortunately, they’ll stay there for generations. He needs to cut prices to 1/2 OR MORE, move stuff out, restore beautiful pieces, and make shopping optimal. It’s ridiculous. Complete waste of space and pieces. Sad, sad, sad.

Some neat items, if I looked at other similar stores I could find the same items. Why didnt I buy from you? Simple, in business you should keep your political views to yourself and not shove them in others faces until you know them on a personal level. Its pretty clear you hate Republicans and Conservatives. Thats the way I took it when I saw your windows. But hey its your business and Ill spend my money elsewhere.

Of the "Architectural Salvage" type places I have been, this is sadly at the bottom of my list. The window front displays were very well done. Granted this is a small scale shop so with that in mind, I felt the selection was limited. For lamp pieces fitment etc your likely going to have more luck doing a Google search and ordinary it offline or from a lamp store. The hardware was over priced, this is even by New York City standards. Which is what I came here for, when a simple Eastlake style cast iron bin pull that is not stamped or a rare pattern, is $20+ for a single piece it's over priced. A simple sash pull, which one can buy at Ace Hardware for $3-6 is $10 here for a small one. New York City, New Orleans, Baltimore, Toledo, Cincinnati, Chicago all have better prices. They do have a large supply of trim, so if you need a specific design for your home they likely have it. The furnace grates are OVERPRICED, example a plain cast iron grate with rust and chippy paint: 10 x 8 is $100, with a wayfair printout comparing the price of a new one; for one identical in Chicago or Cincinnati at one of the salvage places is at best $50-60. In New Orleans your looking at $30-40. In Baltimore $25-40. Overall a disappointment

My niece and I had just been next door at a lovely antique shop (Kalamazoo Antique Market) and stopped in Heritage Architectural Salvage today to see if we could find a glass shade for a lamp. The proprietor seemed to be doing everything he could to discourage us from entering the store. He told my niece that none of his glass shades would fit a newer lamp (ridiculous), that it was unlikely that he had any that were on sale separate from a lamp base (not true - we could see quite a few against the wall to our left), and that we would have better luck at a lighting store. Perhaps he was put off because we had kids with us...or perhaps because my niece is black. In any case, while it appeared that they had a broad variety of inventory -- I would be reluctant to recommend this store due to the owner's unpleasant disposition, and possibly prejudicial attitudes.
