I went there yesterday with a whole truck load of scrap. I had two large desk that were 90% metal with thin wood tops and they took off 400 pound for having wood even though the desk together didn’t even weigh 400 pounds. Left me with 320 pounds. Got $30 out of a whole load. Already contacted them and they were very dismissive. Honestly very disappointed, if I was told they were going to take 400 pounds off I would have removed the wood myself

I have been using Kalamazoo recycling for years. I’ve never had a single issue now all of a sudden the way we’ve been doing things for years. They are telling me I need a title for vehicle that has no Vin front end is missing and cut up like they said you always had to do, if you don’t have a title because just a week ago I did this and I didn’t need one. All they do is bend and make their own rules and what they’ll accept and won’t accept. You clearly cannot tell what the vehicle was and it was only the skin of a vehicle wasn’t even the frame or anything pretty funny how I called another place and they will accept the vehicle how it is without a title I recommend people to find a different place than here they will bend the rules to fit their needs

It sat online that they were open today January 2. Drove 45 minutes to scrap out a car. Just to sit and wait 30 minutes for another possible customer of theirs to say they went and looked and saw a sign saying they are not open till Wednesday. Not very professional, posting false hours. Costing people extra to drive from a distance because they can’t have a accurate schedule.

Go there if you want to get ripped off This is the third time that I have been ripped off by them guys. Well, at least the third time that I went in and said anything. I know It's only a little pound but it all adds up. I went through there today. I On the away out, I checked And the skill said 9 0 3 6 0. And I thought it was wrong. So I did a U-turn Went right back across the scale. I And the scale said 9 0340. I'm Went in and.I said something about it. They act like they didn't even want to talk to me. She barely looked at me. Tell me the scale flex rates. I go there a lot One time I went in and I left. And I knew I threw more. Then $60 worth Of stuff off. My trailer, when in said something about it. Told me to go across the scale again. And when I did, They ended up paying me another $100 on top of that. If I wouldn't have Went in and Said anything I Would have gotten ripped off. And every time I talk to them about. Tell me the scale of sticking. That I didn't let it 0 out. When I did. Second time I went and had a trailer. Wait to get a tag for it. Left there Went to Shoe pan S recycling. And my trailer weighed 40 pounds more on their scale Thattime They tell me that she didn't know nothing about that. lately they've been locking the. Numbers on the scale. As soon as you get On it , not letting it flex rate to your right. Wait. Well, on the low end When you come in. and high En D on your way out. I Don't Like to put a bad review. But I'm getting tired of them getting over at me. God only knows how much they've gotten over on everybody. And There's probably no way that I'm going to get any of that back. They need an offer to pay me for the 20 pounds. Today She just kept saying OKOK. So I just walked out. I mean, what is 20 pounds? It adds up in the long run now. And like I said I go there a lot. I do a lot of business for them. Sorry for the bad reviews. But It's bullkaka

I went to Kalamazoo Metal Recyclers this past Monday and will never be back there. I was looking to recycle a small amount of scrap metal and when I went into the office, I went to the front counter and the woman with the glasses and curly brown hair looked at me as she was getting up from her desk, like I was inconveniencing her by just being there I guess. I smiled and was polite to her throughout our encounter, but she was still rude and very unwelcoming. As she was telling me where I should pull up my car to unload the metal I had, she was very short with me and just had a bad attitude for no reason. When I talked to her on the phone about an hour earlier, she didn't act that way on the phone with me. I don't know why there was a change in her attitude later when I was in the office. After she finished explaining the process to me, I said thank you, but I don't think I even got a response from her to that. I knew as I was walking out the door that I was not going to give them my business. So the next day (yesterday), I went over to Schupan & Sons and donated my scrap metal there. They were much more welcoming, nicer, and more helpful from the moment I came in until the moment I drove off. I do have an old refrigerator that I will be looking to recycle in the near future and I will definitely not be taking it to Kalamazoo Metal Recyclers after this experience.

Needed to get rid of an old dishwasher after replacing! Figured I would call this place and try... I called at 3:30 on a Saturday and they were open (I've seen some reviews stating hours were incorrect but they were still open @ 4:20 when I got there too). She told me if I just wanted to get rid of it and wasn't worried about getting paid for it, to dump it in the bin located in front of the office. She was very polite and not rude by any means :-) it was an easy process and definitely less hassle then going through the gates, getting weighed, and getting bare minimal (obviously there's not much metal in the dishwasher). Therefore I chose not to waste my time and just dumped it!

Among one of the dirtiest jobs there is, there is recycling metal and with it comes everything else. Rust dust and nasty stuff Customers are pretty much trusted to drop off anything and get paid based on weight when they leave. Employees are only human if they work . If you hurt yourself they will find anyway to discredit you and get rid of you. I worked on light duty till 11 am when they got the call from their paid liar IME Doctor report who said nothing was wrong after Bronson's specialist said there was and their workmans comp lady then magically they didn't have anymore work and I'm laid off. So if your looking for a job that's 6 months they can't hire a welder

Great staff and great rates. If you're trying to figure out where to get the best rate you're going to want to come here if you're in Southwest Michigan. To my understanding all the other scrap yards just collect and distribute to KMR which does their own processing. (An example would be Broken Arrow in Allegan) To anyone who is looking to try to scam and offload unacceptable material... they have cameras that are recording your plates, you, your payload, and they have alert staff watching also. Do those of us trying to make a legitimate dollar a favor and scam somewhere else. Payment is given in the form of a paper check drawn from Chase bank.

Best price in sw michigan. Nice ladies in office the are always polite. Dont go to yeshs in sherwood the are crooks. Kmr pays 40.00$ more a tons. Hands down the best scrap yard around. Hope everybody sells there metal theyre

They were closed on 12/22 and did not post on their FB, their website, or leave a message on their voicemail. Myself and three other vehicles were there in the parking lot and two women were there in the office. They were incredibly rude and would just point at a sign on their door (the wrong one) and wouldn’t even open the door to have a conversation or to let all of us who were in the parking lot know that they were unannouncedly closed or to apologize for the inconvenience we all went through to load up all our scrap metal (one person even had a fridge) since they made no effort to let the public know they were closed today. I will NOT be recommending this business since it’s clear they don’t care about customer service and I will be taking my current business elsewhere.

The hours of operation on Saturday are incorrect: 8am to 4:30pm. Not sure what time they actually closed but I was there at 3:30pm and the gates were locked up and everyone was gone. They need to update their hours on their website so potential customers don't waste time an gas for nothing.

Not really worth the time and effort, unless you have a huge truck load. Be prepared to have your fingerprints scanned and your Social Security number. I got $22 for a large truckload of my own.

About a month and in half ago I got hit by one of the drivers in my truck and now that the insurance has been paid for the damages to my truck the site manger is avoided my phone calls and will not return them to let me know if I am able to come back so who do I need to contact to talk to about this situation
