Only open 1 day a week.yeah the ole man seems grumpy ,but the son was fair and honest and actually stayed open late to help me out I plan on doing business again.
Bought parts from the old Slicks since before I could drive. Now, 25+ years later, Jack and Son have a nice new location and a huge selection of parts on ebay. I call on Jack for all my crank bearing and machining needs.
I am in the process of Bobber project on a Honda Rebel that was given to me. I contacted Slicks and they responded the next day. Just TEXT them and they will reply. They DO NOT look for your parts request but you can go there on Saturday and look for the parts from 9:00AM - 12:00PM.
Good people, friendly. They aren't putting much effort into staying in business. Not even sure how they stay afloat. Maybe the repair work is good. It used to be. But even the consumable displays are pretty sad. Not sure I'll ever stop again, unless it's for machine work or repairs.
DONT WAIST YOUR TIME! LESS THAN GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE. ARE THEY EVEN IN BUSSINES? Never seems open. Poor customer service. Leave an email or message....maybe they contact you back if they think about it. No walk-ins. If you leave a request for parts, they only contact you if they have it. You never know if they even looked. They dont contact you to inform you they looked. Contact Motorcycle and Snowmobile Salvage in Mt. Pleasant Mi. Good knowledgeable and friendly folks there.
Reasonable deals on hard to find motorbike parts. Not the easiest yard to pick, and the original owner is often too drunk to understand what he is saying, but where else can you get vintage parts?!
I have shopped the web and bought numerous motorcycle parts, FINALLY!!! I found a honest and helpful parts store. Everything I ordered arrived quickly and exactly what I ordered. Thank you Slicks!!! You have a life time customer here!!!
What the he'll happened, I used to go here all the time, they always had stuff for my old bike. Now they are only open a couple days a week. They are so focused on eBay that a customer can't go and find parts, guess I will just stick to Amazon. Really sucks it was nice to go and pull my own parts and places like that are needed.
Called to ask for a part, didn't know if part was available and didn't want to look, said there would be an hourly charge to look for the part, as a retired veteran that lives 2 and a half hours from this place and need parts for multiple machines I think this place is a joke, clearly lazy, would rather sell on ebay than through a live customer, won't look for parts, will give every reason under the sun on why you can't come look for parts, it's a shame really seeing some there aren't many places around like this........ sad place, people seem lazy and not personable, I would advise to stay away from a business that wants you to stay away from them!!!!!!
Are the prices for whole dirtbike engines reasonable here? Answer: So I called them today to get a price for a whole dirt bike engine they replied that they Do Not sell whole engines as customers complained about warranties. Well as for my self i wanted the whole engine just as spare parts and to fix another one. He said that their prices are what they sell on ebay which was very unsatisfying. Seeing as how i have bought two dirtbikes of the same year and make and model a 125 and a 185 for $350 and $400 and they want to charge me $90 for a used dirt bike head alone.I guess they are not wanting to make business.
The webpage has had the same bikes listed for almost a year. please update the webpage. I don't want to waste a trip there if there isn't stuff for my bikes.
Don't like giving bad reviews but these guys are horrible. Don't answer they state hrs then aren't there. Just plain rude. Definitely went down hill in the last couple years.
These guys are rude and act like they don't want your business. I called and was hung up on after the guy was interrupting me every time I tried to speak. I am polite to people but these guys are not. I cant imagine the will be in business much longer.
