Really beautiful, quite, and pristine beach. I came during the day and was one of the only ones there. Just a breathtaking view of the water.

Great place to go for a day hike and bring a picnic and blanket. Absolutely gorgeous!

All photos are taken and distributed by Be Photographed. Port Crescent State Park is such a charming little spot for photos. When I take photos here, the long winding road leading into the park makes for a peaceful drive, and the short walk to the dock area is easy — even in heels! It’s a great place for couples or engagement sessions who want that quiet, natural Michigan backdrop. During my visit, we did run into a few off-leash dogs and one less-than-friendly parkgoer, but we still made the most of it and captured beautiful photos. The location itself is lovely, with open skies and calm water that photographs beautifully. Port Crescent State Park is definitely worth a visit for anyone looking for a scenic and relaxed photo location in Michigan’s Thumb area.

Great place for kayaking the Pinnebog River. Nice beach at the end where it meets Lake Huron. Nice area for unloading and loading kayaks. One of my favorite places to kayak.

Port crescent seemed like a really great place for all kinds of different people, interests and activities! I was only there for a bit to walk the beach and check it out on the way home but I’ll definitely make a trip back up this way and to this park for some stargazing, beach time and hiking. There looks to be camping and other things available as well. The tip of the thumb is another amazing place in Michigan!! Shhhh please keep it a secret so the place doesn’t get ruined ?

Very beautiful and well kept beach. I sent photos to my family and they thought we were in North Carolina. Couldn’t be happier with this place. It is gorgeous and very relaxing. Totally worth the trip.

We recently visited this beach and it was a mixed bag. The open space and the view—with Jenks Roadside Park in sight—were really great. The water itself is shallow and calm, perfect for kids to play and wade far out safely. We appreciated the pavilion and bathrooms located roughly halfway to the water, but getting there was a different story. The walk from the parking lot is quite long and the path isn't paved, so packing light is a good idea. The sand was also a bit rough with lots of sticks and shells, and unfortunately, we were all constantly swatting away biting flies.

Perfect for star gazing, this Dark Sky International Park is set along the Lake Huron coastline. Sunsets on the beach and waking up to the sounds of the waves in the morning are just some of its many perks. Showers, electricity available, as well as cabins, cottages and geodesic domes.

beautiful beach front camp sites. Modern clean bathrooms. The day park down the road is absolutely stunning along with the dark park

Love this park. It’s a bit of a haul through the sand to get to where the river dumps into the lake but it’s worth it. Water was amazing this trip and we had a blast swimming and paddling

Great campground, fantastic beach and dark sky preserve. Only downfall is one bathhouse is badly dated, other one is great though. Bonus points for an EV charger on site!

Great beach! Birdwatching/nightsky viewing platform. Dune trails were difficult around the beginning dunes, then shifted into relaxing, shaded woods. Fantastic facilities near parking lot C.

Port Crescent State Park is an absolute gem for anyone who loves stunning natural beauty and peaceful surroundings. The highlight of the park is its long, beautiful beach with soft sand and breathtaking views of Lake Huron. Whether you're taking a leisurely walk along the shoreline, relaxing in the sun, or enjoying a refreshing swim in the clear waters, the beach offers a perfect escape. The sunsets here are especially magical, creating the ideal backdrop for an evening by the water. The park also has well-maintained trails, campsites, and a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. It's the perfect spot for a serene getaway!

Port Crescent State Park offers a wonderful blend of natural beauty and convenience. The lake access is available until 10 pm, perfect for an evening swim or just relaxing by the water. The dark preserve is open all night, making it a prime spot for stargazing, although it would be even better if there were deeper access to avoid the interference of car parking lights. The sunsets here are absolutely stunning, creating a picturesque end to the day. Restrooms are well-maintained and clean, adding to the overall positive experience. Whether you’re there for the day or overnight, this park is a serene getaway. If you are lucky, northern lights are visible on specific cosmic events

We love going here. It's less crowded than Sleeper and the Caseville County Park. The beach is beautiful and clean. Very nice restroom facilities with changing areas. The walking trails are very nice. When you take a nighttime walk you might even get a chance to hear and meet a whip-poor-will!

Great State Park with a very nice and clear beach. The sand was clean, the park was clean, and the biting flies were not an issue (thankfully ?) once we got to the shore line. I highly recommend this beach as it is peaceful and relaxing while on vacation ?️

Simply amazing. We stayed on a site in front of the campground beach with our 33' trailer in September. There was a parking pad but the rest of the site was sand. Behind and up a hill there was a nice modern playground for the kids and a bath house. The beach was sandy with nice calm water and amazing sunsets. My kids noticed that the sand "sang" when they shuffled their feet in it. The campground itself is small and you can easily walk the loops. It's nice a shady and a good mix of beach and wooded sites. There are several mini cabins to stay in. The only downside is the road is narrow with lots of trees and it was difficult to navigate with the trailer. There's a dark sky park by the day use area and you have to drive to it. But there's a nice viewing platform. The day use area is pretty wild, with dunes and a long stretch of beach. There are trails throughout.

Beautiful state park. Have camped here twice now & the booking process is very easy. The worker at the front desk was very friendly. They sell fire wood & ice as well. There are a few access points to the beach with a beautiful view.

A beautiful state park! The campsites are spaced apart quite a bit, there are a lot of sites that are tent friendly. The sites that are on the lake are really nice, if you're lucky to get one. If not, the sites above are nice too for viewing the water and sun sets. This campground has the most cabins we've seen yet, along with 2 geodomes. The day use area is 2 miles down the road. It has a canoe and kayak launch, trails, and stargazing space. The bathrooms were clean, showers were nice.

The park is beautiful, but needs a lot of TLC. The interpretive signs are so faded one can no longer read them. The walkways are often completely covered by feet of sand, it looks almost abandoned. There is a swing set without swings near the bathrooms. The outside of the pavilion/bathrooms have recently been painted. Flush toilets were closed when we were there at the beginning of October.

Real nice campgrounds. Michigan doesn't have full hookups. No water at site. Just electricity. Which is nice. But the showers are old and rusty looking. Hair hanging on the walls. No ventilation. Or inadequate. But still a nice quiet park. Beach was great. Nice place to watch a sunset.

Absolutely amazing state park. Lots of trees interspersed with the campsites so it feels more homey and naturey. Super clean facilities. Stayed right on the lake which was so relaxing and peaceful. My husband did some shore fishing and was very successful at dusk using worms. He caught catfish, drum, and bowfin. The night sky views are also fantastic - we could see the milky way our first night here. 10/10 would recommend.

Very dog friendly, i saw all breeds. I was at site #31. 2 motorhomes and 2 tents could fit on this site. Plenty of room at this site but I've been told some sites are really small and/or not level. Plenty of trees for shade. One way paved roads. Some sites are paved, Some are just natural dirt. I did have to ask for a map so i could locate my site. The lot numbers are on the electrical service panels. WiFi is located at the Ranger station where you check in. Most times, me, and all the other campers I've spoke to, had zero cell service so i walked to the Ranger station and was able to make WiFi calls, text and email. There are benches so you can sit outside. I would get cell service and local television channels in the evenings. I was not on a site on the beach. There's a paved ramp to get down to the beach or you can use the stairs, which are located near my site. The beach is clean and has amazing sunsets. I'm sure the sunrise is beautiful but i wasn't awake for it. There is a 2 mile hiking trail, basketball hoop, horseshoes, playground and small cabins for rent. The shower rooms are clean, good pressure, water gets warm. This is a state park so the water is hard well water. Electrical hook up, not all sites have 50amp. There is a fill and dump station on site. Trash & Recycling dumpsters. We will be back next year.

We had an amazing experience at Port Crescent State Park. The beach is shallow and clean, perfect for little kids. Sand is everywhere, so the kids are never bored. They enjoyed the playground by the bathrooms as well. The bathrooms are cleaned frequently. The campground is next to the day use park, lots of hiking trails, the dark sky viewing platform, the Pinnebog River, and Port Austin where kayaks can be rented to make the pilgrimage to Turnip Rock. There was so much to do, and we barely scratched the surface on our first visit. This is a location to visit year after year!

Such a beautiful and spacious beach, not even that far "up north". Very few people even during sunset. Soft sandy beach, not rocky whatsoever like many of our Michigan beaches. Nice nature trail as well. Google maps did lead me to the campground first even using the correct address, and fair warning that there is no signal here. If gps misleads you to the campground just go back to the main road and it will be the first public park entrance.

A favorite since childhood. I wish there was any signage explaining their dog friendly beach. I couldn't find anyone to explain where we were allowed until after 10 pm. (Dogs can be anywhere that there are not swimming buoys.)

Nice State Park. The water levels are high so the beach is almost non-existent in places but the sand and water were very nice. Clearer signs would be nice, some older folks couldn't walk the path we did to the beach and do the 4-ft hope down to the beach once we got there but we did notice another parking lot had a much more manageable path. The restrooms.... All the women's restrooms were out of order, but, that didn't stop people from using them.
