Update! It did appear to be a rusty oil pan, possibly starting leaking bc of the angle it was picked up at. Either way we were treated like criminals for their mistake.
They picked up my son's car at his apartment complex for no reason. They didn't even have the contract with The Stables. So after he was able to find his car and pick it up it came back leaking oil which it absolutely had not before. Now they are trying to say it was a patched rusted oil pan. I bought the car with 40k and my son and I have changed the oil ouselves everytime. The police and BBB have been contacted. I would not use their services if my life depended on it.
Terrible experience. Sent us to two different addresses, lied about prices, and took them an hour to actually give us our car back AFTER we already paid. Towed my car at 1am after being parked at my friend’s apartment for only 5 hours. There was no more visitor parking. They expect payment in exact cash. $245 to get my car back. Horrible at answering the phone. No voicemail box available. They hung up the phone on us three times.
Worst lazy company ive ever come across.dont ask them for proof of wrongful towing they will deny it, and will still charge you even if you have video evidence and proof it was wrong. to top it off they broke into my car and stole a baby shower gift and about $25 worth of quarters out of my car. Terrible shady people i cant believe theyre still in business.
Unmarked truck towed my vehicle because of a parking pass when it was clearly visible in the vehicle. absolute pieces of shit just out to get people and didnt take any responsibility for wrongful towing. Customer service is like 2 inbred braincells fighting for 3rd place.
The worst treatment to customers imaginable. You tow the wrong person’s vehicle, you damage it and you avoid doing the right thing by repairing a simple oil pan…? Absolutely pathetic customer service!
Worst company and customer service I've ever encounter!
My step son is a student at Western and lives in frat village. Earlier this week he went to leave for work and come out to find his car missing. Mind you, he was at his apartment and parked where he was supposed to be. He had to call around to locate his car, when he got ahold of this company they informed him that they did have his car and it was taken by mistake amd that they were not even supposed to be in his parking lot. He then got a ride to get his car but after he got home he noticed a massive oil leak.
He calls the company back to inform them of this new discovery, they said they would come back to pick up the car again and look at it in their shop. When the guy gets there to pick it up he asked our son to sign a waiver but apparently didn't have any forms in his truck and made a hand written one....
Now at this point everyone we have talked to have been very polite and apologetic. After not hearing back from them my husband calls yesterday to follow up. The man we spoke with yesterday immediately acted like he knew nothing of what had happened and tried to assure us the car was not taken by mistake, a blatant lie on his end as they have already admitted to it. After my husband pressed the matter the gentleman proceeded to give him a heavy sigh and state the the oil pan looked rust and it wasn't their fault. When I tried to say something he interrupted me saying "listen, I don't need two people yelling at me". We left the conversation at he would "talk to someone " and give us a call the next day.
Jump to today, they still won't admit they are at fault and are refusing to repair the damages they did to our son's car. We have now had the car towed to our mechanic to be looked at because there is no way we will give them our business.
We have tried to contact the police but was told it was a civil matter. I can only assume this is how they have been able to conduct their business this way after reading the other reviews this seems to be a re occurrence and I'm assuming no one wants to pay for legal fees.
I hope you have the day you deserve and know that karma will always come around and that your conscience doesn't eat you up at night knowing you're running a sleazy scam over there.

My GMC truck needed a 6-mile tow to the shop here in Portage due to a broken driveshaft. I called at 8:30am on a Monday and they arrived within the timeframe they stated over the phone (1.5 hrs)
Dispatch and the tow truck driver were professional. Total cost was $160.
Will use them again if I need tow service in the future.
Took ridiculously long. Had to drive to the place, drive to my parked car in the tow lot to retrieve me wallet from my car, drive back to the place buy my car, pay the $10 service fee to get exact change because they do not give change back. We have waited a total of 2 hours and 45 MINIMUM. I completely understand i’m in the wrong for parking at the wrong place but this process is completely ridiculous. Called asking for a ETA and they lie every time saying “5 minutes depending on traffic.” I understand with this job you may deal with angry people but you are completly setting them up to be upset with such a terrible process. Milking people for their money. Graham Towing will charge you everywhere they can and make the process painfully difficult simply, because they can.
On 3/15/25 I was parked at the Wyatt Apartments in Kalamazoo, MI. I parked in what, I believed was visitor parking. In my personal opinion, the signage indicating this is misleading to me. In less than 12hr, Graham's Towing seized my vehicle, without warning, in the early morning hours of 3/16 at 0455. The next morning I had to walk around the property trying to find any kind of sign indicating which towing company serviced this lot, as the apartment's office was closed. (Evidently there is a sign at the front entrance that I did not see. I do believe they should post this info by every single visitor lot). I even wondered if my car was stolen. Eventually, after calling multiple towing companies, I found my vehicle. After driving to the towing office, I had to pay a fee of $285. You have to pay in cash and cannot use a card. Since it was a Sunday and no banks were open to get exact change from my only option was to use the ATM outside their window. I chose to avoid that because I didn't want to pay an ATM fee. So I gave the front desk secretary $300 that I had on hand, and she would not give me change. I understand if this is their policy, but I personally find this unreasonable. Then I went to the second location to pick up my car. I took photos/videos of the damage. At the end of the day, my total damages were $1,783. I have spent the last two weeks calling Graham's Towing, being transferred to management, and leaving voicemails. I never received a call back. Because I had to file with my insurance, there is a good chance my rates will now increase. I have spoken with local police department's and learned a lot about the company and its practices. The reviews on google and BBB from other people are of a similar nature. To my personal knowledge, which may be false information, this company is primarily contracted out with apartment complexes--take that for what you will. I strongly suggest any one who has their vehicle towed takes photos/videos of their cars and files a police report or at least calls to discuss the incident/any information they can give you on their previous experiences/knowledge about Graham's Towing....
These mofos are no help and over charged me, they also don’t “have change” to give you back if you are paying over. They give you NO DIRECTION on what to do to get your car, no info on their website. They just money hungry and target college kids
Scummy business, $285 to get a car back. Not helpful at all on the phone then make you drive to the other side of town to get your car, they don’t give a damn about your car, ignition was locked up when I got to it so the guy decided to beat on it as hard as he could until it turned.
Graham's towing company ILLEGALLY and wrongfully towed my car away from my apartment complex and then when our apartment complex called and told them they were in the wrong Jamie Graham was very rude to us! Even once we were able to pick up my car they promised to have someone meet us and there was no one there to meet us and we has to wait for damn near 30 minutes. This company is scummy.
What a sad excuse for a company. Low life people that lurk around college communities looking to tow vehicles. 240$ cash only. Wont expose the location of your vehicle until you pay the 240
If I could give 6 stars I would. My daughter locked her keys in her car which in turn locked her out of her apartment. It was cold and snowing and they were there quickly to rescue her and then refused payment. I’m not sure of why they did this but they should know that we will also pay it forward. Thank you!!!!
This place is beyond shady! Criminal enterprise at it's finest and they know it. They prey upon unsuspecting college students visiting their friends in un-marked, un-lit parking lots. Grahams Tow Truck Drivers, drive the parking lots looking for vehicles to tow. They don't wait for the call from the private property parking lot owners. They operate as cash only, exact change. IRS fraudulent business. The Better Businees Bureau has multiple complaints about them. This is not a legitimate towing company, but rather a prey upon unsuspecting victims type business. They should not be allowed to operate due to many fraudulent business practices.
Charging $240 to get your car back from them after they rip it out of the lot in a college town is actually insane. The $30 add-on per day is also absurd. The woman who I spoke to on the phone also wouldn’t have given me any details on fees and how to get my car back if I didn’t ask. They were quite punctual when we had to go to the OTHER LOT 15 mins away to get my car, but I would strongly advise against ANYONE giving this place any business whenever possible.
I wish I could leave negative stars. This place messed up the drop off for my car at an auto shop. My vehicle was un-drivable and they just dropped it off in front of the auto shop. The shop then calls me confused saying Graham’s made a mistake and EVERY time an un-drivable vehicle comes in, the tow driver communicates with the shop techs on getting it into a bay. I call Graham’s and explain this situation and how it needs to be fixed and they say it’s my fault because I didn’t communicate this with the auto shop (I did tell them it was un-drivable ahead of time). Grahams tried charging me $120 to move my car 25 feet and to correct THEIR mistake. ANY TOW PLACE IS BETTER THAN GRAHAM’S!
I can not say I have had Grams towing do work for me. However I called looking for a vehicle in an accident. Sadly they were not the company that towed it. I say this because the lady on the phone was beyond sweet. She called me back exactly when she said she would. She was nice, kind, and informative. If I am ever in need of Towing’s service I assure you I will be using Grams. Lady on the phone… keep up the great work!
Graham's Towing & Recovery broke multiple state of Michigan laws by entering private property without permission and towing my vehicle. Along with this, they demand cash and charge you to see your vehicle, which is also against Michigan's towing laws. If you or anyone you know has also been a victim of Graham's illegal practices, please reach out.
Having a deal to tow cars from college student housing is outrageous. Towing cars across town and having exorbitant pricing, that’s cash only, screams SCAM! These apartment complexes should do better for their residents. And this towing company should be ashamed of the many negative reviews for their services.
Seriously it’s pathetic that this company gets away with scamming people out of their money especially college students. Working with student housing complex’s to tow cars away and charge outrageous fees. Only taking cash as payment. They charge different amounts for vehicles with no explanation at all. Better business bureau will contacted over these complaints.
Truly horrendous company. They towed our car with a parking sticker on it, and refused to let us see proof that they towed for a “valid reason.” Essentially stole our car over night out of our own home. The owner wouldn't respond to us about their mistake, until we finally called the police and then they let us go with the car because it indeed, did have a sticker.
Figure out a different business and money making method, Mr Graham. Completely unacceptable.
Got my car stuck driving on a road which I thought was open. Whelp, it was not, cause I'm a dumb idiot. Long story short the kindest tow driver came quickly (15 minutes) and pulled me out. I wish I had gotten his name but forgot to. He had to move his rig a few times to line it up as it was a tricky recovery. But he was courteous and professional and knew exactly what he was doing. Thank you for saving me from myself.
Not the best experience in the world- I locked my keys in my car and called and was told the tow truck would arrive in 30 minutes… I ended up waiting over an hour and a half. I called back three different times because they kept telling me the tow truck was almost there when it wasn’t. In the past if companies have made mistakes like this they’ve been very apologetic and many times offer a discount or waive the fee altogether, but
I was charged the full price and he didn’t even seem fazed that he was over an hour later than he was supposed to be. Once he arrived he was very quick unlocking the door, it was just a frustrating experience that I felt could have been handled better. Regardless, I was able to get into my car, but I will most likely call a different company if I need a towing company in the future.
Would give 0 if i could. Extremely rude office staff, car was taken off my apartments property with the temporary permit on the vehicle and they damaged my car with reach across tool. My car has a scratch where they did and my weather seal is damaged now. Unsure why they would need to gain entry when my vehicles vin is on the window.
When i went to get it released i asked for photos of my car without the pass. Bc if i forgot the pass Id own up to it. They refused and when i asked why i was refused any answer.
They also told me it would be a $40 gate fee to get my things which is ILLEGAL in michigan. First trip is free after that they are can only charge up to $25 at a time. But i digress, Just shows how shady they run their business.
My car stalled out and wouldn’t move in the daycare parking lot of all places. Dispatch was quick, efficient, and super nice. The truck arrived and the driver was also great. Definitely will use them in the future if we need a tow again!
Our experience with Graham's was a little unconventional, and saved our butts in a very chaotic mess!
We were on our way to drop our old car off at a shop and it broke down at the light of one of the busiest intersections in town. It was during rush hour, and it was absolutely insane! Thankfully a Graham's tow truck just so happened to pull up next to us at the light. I ran over and asked if there's any chance they could help us. He said absolutely and went and turned around right away. I was in our second vehicle, and was pinned in the traffic. He pulled up behind us both and backed traffic out of the way so that I could get into a parking lot, out of the way for him to get to our broken down car. He also helped my husband push our car all the way back to get the tow truck in front of the car without having to pull out into the intersection to keep both he and my husband a little safer given where we were at.
While they were working to get the car off the road, he got me on the phone with their dispatch to start getting everything documented. I haven't been in this area for a really long time and I haven't been around this much traffic in a long time either. I was pretty anxious and rambling but Sarah was great at being patient in getting our information while having a rather comedic conversation amidst all the chaos.
The price was very reasonable. They even drove our car down to the shop for us, dropped our key off and filled out the information card and let us go about our evening! Michael, Sarah, and Mitchell were life-savers and wonderful to work with. We are SO GRATEFUL for their help. Thank you guys so much for everything, and thank you for being in the right place at the best possible time! Well, worst time for us - best time because we desperately needed you!
If I could give this place zero stars I would. My car was parked in a legal spot I had a temporary parking pass till I got the actual pass as I had just gotten this car roughly 3 days prior. I forgot to put it in the window and because I forgot they just went and towed it, didn't give me any kind of notice or warning. I just walked out and my car was gone. I had to pay $170 to get my car back. Went to two different locations one to pay the fine and one to get it back. The locations are roughly a 10-15 min drive apart. Once I got to the second location they make you call them to let them know you are there and then their response is "someone will be there shortly". I waited well past 30 minutes then I called them back and their response was the same as before. I waited roughly an hour for someone to drive over and then proceed to ask me for my license and registration. This car is new so of course I didn't have it I hadn't even received my plate yet. They wasted no time towing my vehicle but even after I paid I still had to wait to get it back! This all could of been avoided if they would of given me a notice reminding me about the parking pass. Originally they wanted 200$ but said if I could prove that I live where the car was towed they would bump off 40$. I got this car because two weeks before my only car blew up and damaged other cars parked next to it. I had no choice but to take time off of work before i lose my job. I had to dig into my savings for my family just to get another car. I had to dig into my savings yet again just to get my vehicle back so now I am flat out broke. My family is depending on me and these people act like they only care about making money for their families. Both of these incidents happened with my cars at the same location.
They came and tried to tow my Gmc to the dealership to be fix ! They didn’t know how to put the tow cables on properly and off came my Gmc Down the tow ramp ! The Gmc hit my garage door and they didn’t do anything about still without a garage door ! So please don’t use these people they are not worth your time and who knows what might happen to your house or your car ! Still waiting on you Grahams to come buy me my new garage door 😱
