Consumer beware, they rip you off here.
I took some extruded aluminum, painted aluminum, dirty extruded aluminum and stainless steel but I only got paid for old and stainless after they tried to tell me I was going to be docked for someone elses mistake on a prior load until I pointed out that I hadn't been there before and that I would just take it to Fair salvage instead, they decided not to dock money off since I was willing to go elsewhere so they ripped me off on the aluminum instead.
They were friendly, it was my first time there.
It was quick and easy.
They even gave me some “not for hire” stickers for my truck (which i needed)!

Apparently, Al scrapyard does not realize the power of a Google review. I used to work at Fair salvage and Claire, Michigan. My job was to run the scales for all the various sorts of different medals out there identify the metal, Weight it, so the customer can get their money.
I went to Al’s scrap on Monday last week I brought in structural aluminum which they classified as irony I brought in over 1400 pounds of various expensive scrap including radiators.
I walked out with $130. I was totally disgusted and not happy whatsoever. If I would’ve went to Fair salvage in Clare, which I didn’t have time to do that day, I would’ve netted four times what they gave me at Al’s scrapyard.
Al’s is a good place to go if you have a car or you want to get rid of, that’s it. No small stuff. I am totally not happy and will discourage anybody from going there unless they have a car to unload. Hey, I’m a Google reviewer and I’m just being honest.
Down to earth owners and employees. Very fair and competitive in pricing and paying you for your scrap and best of all it is local and saves the hour drive to any of the bigger scrap yards. Time is money and with the price of gas just save yourself the drive it is more then worth it. Glad I gave them the time to earn my business I thank you guys very much.
If you're looking to clean up your property & put some cash in your pocket, you need to call Amber & Al! They came to our farm w/complete crew & equipment and removed all our junk farm equipment w/speed & precision! They're extremely reasonable w/prices and professional, I would definitely call them again for any scrap metal business & recommend to everyone!

It's an awesome place" I had a boat and trailer couldn't find anywhere to take it off my hands , township all over me gonna find me " All's scrap came to my rescue with reasonable price, would recommend him anytime, James was awesome.
Very good prices, as far as coming in and salvaging part you may need, and also very patient with you on what you need, they even let me take a closer look at the things I needed on the vehicle that the parts were being pulled from
I was told very rude that they don't take any scrap metal only car's should change name or let people know not a scrap yard even though it's there name of company
Al and Amber run one of the best scrape metals in the county of Gladwin. Their very fair in price, straight forward about what they accept and buy or sell. Their place is pleasant to drive into.Although I haven't sold or bought anything from them. Yet I have watched them do business with others. Barbara
