Went to j&s Auto salvage to get a motor that they said was good. Say they had $145,000 mi on it. It came out of a 2010 vehicle coming to find out it came out of a 2005 after paying $2,500 to have it put in could not get the engine to run it had bad VVT solenoids. It had a bad mass air flow sensor. The timing chain was wore out They may honor the warranty, but I'll still be out of $5000 for labor the $950 that I paid for the engine Long story short, don't go to salvage yards. They don't know what they're buying. They don't know what they're selling. Buy new
They’re alright. They pulled a part and it was cheap, but it ended up being the wrong part (which didn’t make sense bc it was from the same year and model for the car I was fixing) and they will only give you store credit.
The gentleman helping me was friendly and was helped right away as I walked in the door. I've got numerous parts from here and have never had any issues, I will continue to do business here
They sold my sister the wrong transmission the first time, and then followed it up with a bad transmission. They have been unprofessional and uncooperative and have failed to make it right, she has wasted thousands of dollars in labor fees to still be car-less immediately afterwards. No resolution or refund and not even an apology for their failings. Life is hard enough without people taking advantage of you. If this is common practice they should close the salvage yard.
Was sold a bad transmission, then replaced with another bad transmission. No solution in the end, just money down the drain for the transmission & labor cost.
Don't really know how they are as a company went to find out they're supposed to be open for another half hour according to Google and nobody was here wasted my time drove all the way far out extra out of the way for nothing so you know I get it they're busy they get a hard job at times you know a lot but I'm one that would pride myself on owning a business and if I say I'm going to be open till 3:00 or 6:00 or 7:00 or 5:00 it doesn't matter that's what I'm going to be open
Don’t buy parts there they make you pay upfront and you never get your parts. They are liars and when you try to get your money back that says no money back read the receipt and then you don’t get your parts or your money. The only thing you get as pissed off my recommendation, don’t pay out front for anything because it takes like two weeks to get apart more. If you say something the only thing they say we don’t have the people, but you never give your money back bad business.
I made another stop at J & S to get parts for my van. The mechanic here Mike is always so helpful. We went out in the yard to search for my parts. Found what I needed. He removed the items. The clerk up front was equally friendly. The total I owed was very reasonable. I always have a good experience going here.
Been going here for a year or two. They dont need manners they are just busy and dont think sometimes so dont blame them if they get snippy with ya. Its a good place for used batteries on the fly if they have any and the price for used parts is a hit and miss. I recommend this place at any time due to pricing and good source of used parts. I dont remember if they sell new parts but hey! check em out!
Worst experience so far at a junk yard was told call back and still no call back I have called back several times first one if the workers told me the wrong part and the. Now I been waiting 2 days for my part that I was told was gonna be here 2 days ago
First they gave me the right part but it was damaged. Replaced it with a part that doesn’t fit made me wait hours for a part they never had. The old man needs to retire he’s way past his prime. Would not recommend
Will never use this place again what a joke, called on a rim for a 08 Dodge avenger, got that on no problem. Called back said I needed 2 more with the size tires I needed. Was told they were different on the rims I needed no big deal asked if they can find the size tires I needed for them rims. Was told they will look and call me back. No problem, waited all day no call back. Called them the next day same thing there still looking for tires. Waited another day no calls back. So I found tires else ware and told them I just need the rims. Took them another day to call me to let me know the rims were ready. Get there and they had it down under a Pontiac G6 had the wrong rims waiting for me. The correct rims were still on the other vehicle that we got the first rim off from. Had to wait for them to pull them rims and dismount the tires. Needless to say we will not do business with them again. This was not for a personal vehicle I run a transmission shop and would have continued to do business with them but not after all that. Waisted so much time for a simple job.
The gentleman was very corporative and helped us with a great price on a hood, headlight etc. I'd recommend anyone to come here b4 going to any other salvage yard! Thank you J&S auto salvage
Stay away from them. My husband paid for a fuel pump and they said it would be a couple hours and it turned into 2 days so far. They said they pulled one but it was bad. We requested our money back and they said no. They said give them 3 days. After they got yelled at and all of a sudden the pump is ready now. Don't deal with them.
They're ok. Took over 24hrs. to "pull" my little part that was clearly sitting on the shelf for ages
I had to call before they even got around to it.

Was told they had a part. I called a day before hand. Got there and they didn't have the part pulled and said it would be hours with no customers and 2 guys sitting behind the counter doing nothing. Don't come here ....
Came in for a part for my 07 car. Now unfortunately I don't know anything about cars, so they screwed me. They gave me the wrong part which my mechanic had to tell me was wrong, then when I came back in admitted they gave me the wrong part by telling me they sold me a 2002 part, despite my receipt saying 06-07 on it. So they knew that part didn't match what I needed because they knew I said 07 and sold me a part for an 02 and my lack of car knowledge wasn't able to spot that until my mechanic told me it wouldn't work. Had to buy a part at Autozone for $65 and got screwed out of $44.40 with my ATM fee. Gave me store credit I have no reason to use because I won't go back. RPM didn't do me wrong. I'll go to them from now on and if they don't have what I need I'll go to Autozone.
DONT BUY ENGINES FROM THEM!!! they don't honor the 30 day warranty. First bought an engine they said was low mile but looked like it came from the bottom of a swamp and had metal in the oil. Took them over a week to get the other one pulled. They stated it ran good good however once we got it out in the engine ran worse the one that was pulled out of the car. My guy went up to talk to them and they threatened to call the cops if he didn't leave and said they won't refund the money even though it has been only 1 week which was adequate time to get the install done.. my business reputation revolves around getting good, quality used parts when needed and unfortunately we are cutting ties with them. Meanwhile we have a customers out of their car for longer that we estimate due to the neglect here.. sad sad business....
These guys are great on price on help and willing to actually be of service unlike other you pick you pay yards. Selection and availability is always at high level and I would always look there and choose this yard over most.
I bought a 6.0 motor for $1100 and tried returning it within 2 weeks. They would not give money back even though it says 30 return policy. Then they went as far as saying they'd give me a free transmission for my 1500 and have not heard back and it's been well over a month. Very dishonest people and definitely won't get you what your asking for in the correct time frame. Was told pay one day pick up the next, took 5 days after payment to get my motor which had oil EVERYWHERE! Have pictures of motor when recieved from them.
I strongly suggest as a business owner myself to stay away from this place!!!
Good experience buying from j&s. Called for a high end expensive part. They had it I went up and picked the one I wanted they pulled it and had it ready before the end of the day. Also gave a really good price compared to other pricing around the area.
Do not buy a “ Reman” ecm from these people. It cost me 900 dollars and I was told that the ecm was cleared so it could accept a new vin number and it in fact was not. I then got back with them and they got me a different on and still had the same problem. I then said I wanted my money back and they said they the company who “remans” these ecms do not offer returns. But then after some talking back and forth they said they would give me in store credit for it. Now why would you give someone $900 for someone else’s piece of junk that doesn’t work???? So I end up haveing to just eat a 900 dollar ecm and buy on from the dealer ship. Hope this helps warn people.

Supposed to be getting glass for my truck someone broke into my truck and I cannot drive it when it’s 30 degrees out with no back window, called em and they had the exact part that I needed, fairly priced. Told me they’d have it out the next day. Called them the next morning, “oh yeah it’ll be out later” okay no problem. Wait for a call and nothing, called them at 4pm they said the glass guy didn’t come, they’ll have it pulled the next day, we’ll call you. Waited all day for a phone call, nothing. Called and they are closed for the holidays. So now I have to wait for who knows how long until I can get the part that I needed, If they would’ve told me and been upfront about anything I wouldn’t even be writing this, if it’s going to be a couple days then tell the customer. DON’T LIE ABOUT IT TO MAKE A SALE
Told they had the parts we needed over the phone. Got there and was told that not only were they not even pulled yet, but we had to go to the yard and find the car to take them from ourselves. Once we found the car with the right parts and paid for them in full, was told they wouldn't be available for us until sometime the next day - despite the fact they didn't close for another 3 hours. I've had worse experiences with junk yards, but I've most definitely had MUCH better experience at near-by competing yards in the area. Wouldn't spend a cent here in the future unless there was no other option.
I have been getting parts from them for at least 10 years. They usually have what I need, prices are very good. Yesterday they even cross referenced a 2005 Trailblazer BCM to a newer part number and sold me a newer 2008 BCM, still for the same low price.
Excellent service husband went in for some valve cover bolts went out himself removed them and the gentleman working gave them to him for free ! Doesn't see like a lot but with everything that has been happening this year . A kind act is just that... Kind.. they are busy as in lots of people go here . But not a long wait . Give them your business you won't be disappointed!
These guys were great. Had a situation and they made the process very convenient. They responded quickly to my needs, like when I needed a tool to remove something. The sale was easy and the banter very friendly. The cars I've pulled parts from here are of higher quality than other places nearby. It's slightly more expensive as a result. Worth it when you consider they keep everything fairly clean and organized.
