I was in Munising for a long weekend from down state and my car battery died. Charlie offered to pick me up from my hotel to get a new battery and then installed the battery for me. He was a total life saver and I appreciated his help so much! Would highly recommend.
Charlie came out to my stalled truck late Sunday night in Christmas and once we got it going waited for me to give him the “alls good” call on my way back to Marquette. No charge. Great guy and good to know if you get caught out on a cold UP night with car trouble
Charlie winched my car out of my driveway! Used triple A and he arrived within 2 hours. He was kind enough to tell me my tires are extremely bald and I should get new ones so I hopefully will not get stuck again anytime soon. Great service, communicated when they were on there way well.
Huge, huge thank you! Family and I were traveling to Munising for a wedding. We had a flat just outside of town. He came and patched up the tire so we could get back to Escanaba. He was super kind and generous with his time. While I was trying to figure out how my wife and I were going get home, he saved us from being stranded in Munising with limited options. My husband and children ended up broken down and stranded in the UP after dark in wooded bear country and I called Wilderness towing. Derek was incredibly helpful, informative and honest. He spent plenty of time on the phone with me figuring out where my family was and helping us get the vehicle to a safe location. He provided us with information about where we could find parts and who may or may not be able to help us get it fixed. Derek even followed up by calling me to update me along the process. He really went out of his way to make sure their trip still ended on a great note. Highly recommend!
My fiancé and I were out of town, and unexpectedly hit a black bear! Our car was totaled. Derrick was there to help us out within 20 minutes. He was very knowledgeable in letting us know ways we’d be able to get a rental car so that we could make our 4 hour drive back home!

Stuck in Munising on a quiet Sunday Morning with a 37’ RV that lost half an axle. I could have been stranded for days…. Charlie answered the call and my prayers - only a block away he was there in minutes and set up my rig with some Yooper Engineering that got me all the way home to southern Michigan. Folks UP there are like the Americans of yesteryear - salt of the earth was my experience. 🇺🇸
My wife and I were stuck at 12 mile campground Dead Battery. I was able get enough cell service to look up the Towing company after walking out to main road. Around 1am I got a hold of Charlie. Nice and super quick considering we're an hour out in the middle of nowhere. Charlie was super great guy. Got us back on the road in no time. Thankfully we got a hold of him. We a 2hr drive back to Escanaba.
My wife and I had car battery issues the night before driving back home to Minneapolis. Our car broken down and had to be towed to the dealer in Sault St Marie from Grand Marais. Derek came as soon as he could and was very professional and friendly. I highly recommend this company.
On vacation near Chapel falls trail, our transmission went out in our truck. Derek answered our call and got us safely back to our campground and then got our truck to a recommended transmission place. We wouldn't have known where to go. While this wasn't the adventure we were hoping for, it would have been much more stressful without his help! Would totally recommend this company.

After coming back to a flat tire from the Pictured Rocks Boat Tour I pulled into a gas station to try and fill it up and then noticed that there was a shell casing that went right through the crown of my tire. A local recommended my wife and I to call Wilderness and see if they could help us. The man on the other end of the phone was amazingly helpful and was willing to come out and help us at any point. Any vehicle issues I may have in the future while vacationing in the UP I know that Wilderness can help!
They saved me! I couldn’t believe how fast they arrived. Within 5 minutes! My car was jumped and he provided me with some helpful information about my vehicle. Fast, courteous service. Our vehicle had transmission failure while we were on vacation 9 hours from home. We were given a ride along with our tow to the nearest dealership which was about an hour and half away. Derrick (sp?) was like an old friend and made the whole experience the best it could be. Travelling cross country, car wouldn't start after getting gas at 0130, -10 degrees, son and dog in car. Derrick was there promptly, did everything he could to get me going, and set me up to get fixed in the morning. Dependable, knowledgeable. Recently had car troubles while traveling through Munising. Spoke with I believe Derek over the phone a few times late in the evening who provided great assistance on available hotels and repair shops in town as it was late and options were scarce. Ended up staying at a hotel that evening. Received a call at 8am the next morning from Derek with further info on services and he took the time that day to tow our vehicle an hour over to Marquette. Can’t thank him enough for his kindness, professionalism and overall care for a person in need! Highly recommend if you’re ever in a tough situation!
Had a dead battery on a Sunday morning when out camping. Charlie came and jumped my car for me. He was super nice and very helpful! It took hardly any time at all and pricing was very fair for off-hours service. Very grateful for his help!

These guys were awesome, we were very nervous we would be shamed for wedging a 97 Chevy shitbox in the middle of the woods on four wheeler trails but honestly I think they were impressed. Very very kind and helpful and very glad we picked them to call. Bonus points for bringing there kid along to see the show and being kind to the one eyed hound dog with adhd. Overall, great experience, would do again and will call them next time we do. Sincerely two young and dumb female women from the thumb. <3 :)
