These guys came through for me in a big way. I needed a spark plug and wheel bearing replacement on short notice and they got my car in and fixed everything quickly and competently. They are extremely helpful and knowledgeable, and their great reputation is well-earned. I highly recommend this place and am really grateful for their fantastic service.
I haven’t had a regular mechanic in a long time. Growing up, my Dad had a shop in Hyde Park and that’s where we went. For years, my husband and I used gas stations for things like tires and thermostats. Bigger jobs we’ve tried a few different shops, but either the service or the price didn’t make us want to keep going back. I had seen all the great reviews for Minot Motorworks while looking for a place to get my brakes done. They were really grinding and I had to get them done. I have an older Jaguar and parts can be expensive. I also have felt at some places that it’s not just the parts that are expensive! I called Paul and he told me to bring it in 2 days later. At the last minute, I told him that one of the rear parking sensors had gotten pushed in, resulting in THE MOST obnoxious beeping anytime I was in reverse and for a good 5 minutes after shifting into gear. Doesn’t sound like a huge deal, but trust me- it’s torture after awhile lol! I said only if it wasn’t going to be lots of time and/or money it’d be AWESOME to have repaired.
I dropped the car off at 8 & Paul called me at around 1pm. Brakes were done and he was able to fix the sensor by pulling out the bumper just enough to access the sensor and reattach it with some high grade epoxy. He assured me that it was now tighter than it was originally from the factory! He didn’t sell me a new Jaguar part and the labor of removing the entire bumper- he did the best repair instead. He also noticed something in the exhaust was hanging, so he replaced a hanger.
He was also very familiar with the make and model Jaguar I have. Let me know that, in his opinion, it’s in good shape.
Overall, it was such a great experience. First time in a very long time that I didn’t feel like I was getting oversold, overcharged or just talking to someone who didn’t really know what they were doing. It was so refreshing!! As the owner of a family owned and operated small business, I understand the importance of treating your customers right. Whenever a roof repair we do ends up being less materials or labor than we thought, customers are always surprised when they pay less than they were quoted. That’s being honest and good business - Paul is definitely running a good business and we look forward to bringing not just my car, but our roofing trucks to Minot MotorWorks in the future. Super convenient location, too - right on 3A, just a little over the North River Bridge.
So, Paul and Team are miracle workers. Brought in an aging Porsche in need of shameful repair ... a few weeks later ... boom! ... runs like a top. Ship shape, detailed 'and' inspected ... utterly awesome work. Many thanks guys!!
Great local shop. Everyone in there is super nice and the owner is honest and upfront about everything going on and telling me why. I never felt like I had to have my guard up watching for unnecessary work.
I would give 10 stars if it were possible. Pauly and his crew are true artists. Their ability to work on a multitude of vehicles, while ensuring top quality work, makes them the premier motorworks shop on the South Shore.
I have all three of my cars serviced at Minot, I fully trust their work and they are very honest. I will never use another auto shop, Paul and John are the best.

Paul and John are honest and competent and thorough. As the owner of an older car, I am grateful for their ability to keep my car running smoothly and as inexpensively as possible. They give me a heads up on what has to be done immediately, and what can wait until the next visit.
