Updating from a one star they are improving from when I first got here and some staff still plays favorites when it comes to the rules.

Father Bill's in Quincy, Massachusetts, is an incredibly disappointing and disturbing experience. As someone who was seeking assistance, I felt compelled to leave, even though I’m homeless, because of how unsanitary and poorly managed the facility is. The conditions were absolutely disgusting, and the staff was unprofessional, making the situation even worse. There's no genuine support or resources available. It's a chaotic environment, where mental health, active addiction, and PTSD are mixed together without any thought for proper care. Unfortunately, instead of offering help, the staff often antagonize people, making it feel like no one is there to listen or assist. The lack of structure and care is evident, and it’s clear that no one in the state seems interested in providing the necessary help either. This place is out of control and not somewhere you can rely on for support or safety.

Guissela Mariluz should go, she pulled a worker off my case for no good reason, now I don't have anyone to help me ,she said she is trying to help me if that was the case she wouldn't have pulled the person off my case and it is not the first time, now I don't have anyone.

Never have I ever seen a place play to favorites. Rude staff, you get a well used mattress and a if your starving it's ok dinner. Your better off buying a tent and spending nights here when u gotta shower. It sucks period. Staff call the PD every day to report new intakes so if your wanted stay away. Ive seen 2 people arguing when a staff was trying to give one of them a new pair of donated air Jordans one man had no shoes, the other man shoes were just fine. The man who didn't need them got them and went outside for a cigarette brea and sold them for 25 dollars to someone else. When we told staff the lady said well she figured the black guy got them because come on how many white people would wear bright blue striped high top Jordans...how bout the guy without shoes. You get thrown outta McDonald's in the morning if u try to sit in and don't order more than coffee. Plus the shelter gives everyone back back donations occasionally so they act as bullseyes to local businesses and PD. Nothing good to really say so disappointed as to what the real father bills mission was for this place. Just a Tax hideaway.

I had a client that was terribly discriminated against. There were multiple staff members laughing at her and the worker put the phone down and ignored her for more than 10 minutes. So while they held up the phone lines because they didn't want to do their job they completely disrespected my client. The person that took the call was Alana.

I would not recommend to anyone! They pick and choose who they want to help and/or listen to! Also BIG Also if YOU have a job and work over nights or shifts that end at midnight DO NOT come here! These people are ignorant in the morning… These people make this place a middle school and they got the principal wrapped around there finger the staff members and will say the “principal” don’t care aslong as they get there paycheck they get fired or if they quit they could careless Do what you will with that

No salad or bread tonight, just a spoonful of slop and a cookie the size of a one-cent piece . . . a prison that doesn't do better will face riots or the vengeance of The Commonwealth, but apparently the local church is immune to the laws of common sense . . . for now.

This place sucks and the current staff they have makes it even worse. You can tell how dumb they are when you ask for help and they don't bother. They will kick you out at a slightest thing they find offensive. This is supposed to be a public facility where you get emergency shelter and they aren't willing to provide it.

Unfortunately, Father Bills is Horrible. Disgusting, unsafe, uncomfortable. There is so many people, to the point they make residents sleep upright at a table. They call it a "warming center". There is only One working shower, and One working toilet for at least 40 females. The other toilet Overflows basically Everyday. The flooded toilet never gets mopped up or anything sanitized. So All the residents are stuck walking around in toilet water and Fecal matter. Everybody is sick because of mold and whatever else. Board of health shoul check

It is one of the main Quincy shelters for homeless persons to go to outside the Boston area. They have strict curfews and if you have a job, but do not get permission to come in after hours, then you will not get a bed to sleep or cot to sleep in. Although, they have renovated and changed their facility with over 50-70 news beds and transitional housing on a waiting list, right next to the Quincy Police Station Headquarters. For a previous homeless woman that has transitioned out of this situation, even though I had a job, the facility managers still left me sleeping on the floor with other homeless men and I did not get any referrals for housing from management either. FBMS is a place to go to when you need emergency housing assistance only.

Father bills helps out a lot of people and honestly you can’t make everyone happy just plain facts so for free people should be grateful

This place is filthy. The staff will threaten a written warning if you don’t wear a mask. However they do not bother to clean or disinfect the mattresses in between uses. The men’s dorm bathroom has had fecal matter smeared on a wall for four weeks now. So, FYI - forced mask wearing isn’t a substitution for basic sanitation practices.

I've been there before and donated clothes and food and for the homeless and I like going there they are very nice people

One of the best and safest emergency shelters on the Greater Boston Area. Staff is compassionate and always willing to help and/or make reasonable accommodations when necessary. I was homeless for a short period of time however that experience was way smoother because of Father Bill’s. Their case managers and support system in general helped me get approved for government housing assistance a matter of weeks! Big shoutout to all FBMS staff

I, was unable, to stay at this shelter. I, have a serious permanent back injury. A mattress is provided, on the floor. I, could not get up& down, from the floor. Only 2 bags of belongings, are allowed. I, have 3 suitcases,& a small grocery bag. Additionally, the shelter expects homeless to leave, early in the morning. I, am too physically ill, to wait until evening time to go inside& then, leave for the day, at the very crack, of dawn. The temporary shelter arrangements, available through "Father Bill's," are not suitable, to my physical disability & shelter access-needs.

I had a really good voulenteer experience. The staff were kind and respectful to everyone that came in the dining area for food. The location on Main st. Brockton is always lively. There are many ways to support that location as well.

So...I wasn't staying there. My daughter is a housing MSW there. When she started I held my breath a bit. Fr. Bill's and associated locations in Quincy and Brockton that go by slightly different names have a rep for a lot of prof staff turnover. Instead of concern though I'm impressed. She didnt start w PR but has mentioned various other programs along the way.. for veterans, a workforce/training program, assistance w finding housing w some real initial financial aid, youth/young adult (18-24 or so), attention to medical needs...rehab placements, HIV+ housing services. They let in regulars who work later hours. No idea what it's like living there temporarily but I hear no horror stories. For example, women residents reported a male resident as saying things and using hands in not welcome ways and he was out of there.

You can't charge ur phone here and not allowed to use the WiFi, staff usually ignore meaning they don't really talk to me at all which makes it harder to meet my needs because I have bad anxiety and can't always speak up for myself which is one of the reasons I'm here....

Yesterday and today they kicked Almost Every Single Minority in the building. I think three left. If you are white they won't search you. If not they won't give you a bed. This place left the window opened right above the mattress so they would come inside and get to my carry on. They came in the night time for intimidation

The staff are almost trained to treat people like they are worthless. Some of them treat guests as humans and exhibit compassion and empathy... but it's become a revenue source and they obstruct progress rather then encourage it.

The place is nice, it’s good for a place needed to stay when you have nothing. Food is good. Breakfast I recommend waking early because some of the guests treat it like a buffet lol and if you get up late you don’t get anything. The reason I’m down rating it is the staff. They’re incredibly mean. For a charitable place, I believe some of these people are in the wrong line of business. They say ‘no’ just to say no. They treat you like a dumb child and herd you like cattle. I’ve never felt so little than being at the end of these staffs whims. Things you should know: They’re ridiculously strict on the No Cellphone rule. No lighters, no food, no drink. Your stuff will be searched daily. Scheduled smoke breaks, snack etc and they basically light your cigarette for you. You’ll be treated like a mental patient or a prisoner, just keep in mind that it’s voluntary and if you fr cant stand it then go sleep outside. Don’t leave your stuff anywhere cuz people will steal your socks and dumb stuff like that. Also someone almost died of an overdose during my stay. Probs one reason why they treating us like trash. I’m very glad of the establishment though, and I extremely appreciate they were there to take me in when I had no where else to go. Shout out to Hope, the nurse. She’s an absolute joy. Jasmine, she works in mornings and is absolutely lovely. Also Justin that works mornings, he is also very kind. Thank you Father Bill!! OH!! Almost forgot, maggots come out of the drain when you shower so keep a sharp eye out ;) Really tho, great place

This place cares but is definitely overcrowded and the people who work are overwhelmed. They are willing to give me a safe and warm place to sleep andi am very grateful for that. People in the community can come for a bagged lunch and residents can have 3 meals a day. This place helped me when no one else would.

I had nowhere to go this past winter and it was below zero, especially with the windchill factor. I didn't want to go there but had no choice. It was a place to stay alive through my nightmare. They even feed u. I thank God and father bill for being there when I was desperately trying to stay sober and drug free. Thanks for everything, Shawn
