I knew the clutch on my GTI was starting to go so this past Friday I called around to a few different places to get quotes on what it would look like. Out of the few places I called (including 2 VW dealerships), Auto Engineering was the only place that not only gave me an exact quote, but they gave me a recommendation for what type of clutch I should get given the circumstances. On Monday I took it in to Auto Engineering. After being initially told it would be done by the end of the week, the team ended up getting it done by Wednesday! I couldn’t be more happy with the decision to take my car to them as they were quick and extremely knowledgeable throughout the whole process. They even washed my car before handing me back the keys! I will absolutely be back for any services my GTI will need in the future!

Five stars all around.. I purchased a used BMW. I called Auto Engineering to ask what I should do for maintenance based on the current miles and the service history. Very knowledgeable fair prices and didn’t try to recommend work not needed. The work was completed on time and exactly at what the quote indicated. They used all quality parts and fluids!

Amazing service! My VW SEL Tiguan had a severe turbo lag and it drives SO much better with the APR tune. Very professional, and quick!

Auto engineering is hands down the best service shop i have worked with. They have been resolving issues with my cars for over 8 years. whether its the old or new beamers, they have saved me money and time often knowing the problem before dropping it off. Shaun and Rick run a great show over there!

Highly recommend. My Golf R had an issue with the trubo. The staff over at Auto Engineering were able to confirm my suspicion that the turbo was falling and helped me get into an upgraded setup. Staff is super helpful and friendly.

I call the guys here at Auto Engineering the 'Golden Gods'. This shop is a true, rare find. I reached out on a Friday am to get my Porsche warning message evaluated that popped up Thursday night. I was scheduled to drive at Palmer Motor Sport Track over Sat/Sun weekend. Shaun, Tony and team were able to identify the issue, resolve the error and I was on the track Saturday am ready to drive! Not only did they identify the root cause, they did additional research on racing the 991.1, to find out that I needed clamps to ensure the issue would not reappear on the track. They go the extra mile and they got the job done. The team here are top notch professionals and human beings. This will now be my go to shop for both my Porsches, so glad I found them. So grateful to you all, thanks again!

This is the only place I will EVER take my GTI. Shaun the owner, is extremely helpful and kind. He always explains in detail and answers any questions I have about the work being done to my car. For suspension work, performance part installation, oil changes and more these guys have always done me right. I couldn't recommend a better german auto shop! Auto Engineering is the best in the game.

One of, if not the absolute best spot to bring your Audi in MA or the New England area. My Dad and I trust them to the fullest in taking care of our cars. He has an Rs5 and I have an Rs3. They are quick and efficient and highly knowledgeable with RS model Audi’s. Do not hesitate to bring your car here if you want the best possible service.

Auto Engineering is the only place that I’ll bring my German car to. They do great work, are clearly knowledgeable (I’d argue their Porsche tech Tony is more knowledgeable than most dealership mechanics, he was able to diagnose and repair multiple issues the dealer couldn’t reproduce or claimed were normal) and are reasonably priced. They did both preventative maintenance and unexpected repairs for my aging Cayenne and didn’t treat me like any less of a customer than the people bringing in cars worth many multiples what mine is. Everything was done on time, and they always let me know anything else they saw that needed addressing but never in an alarmist way, suggesting certain things that could wait until the next oil change, etc.. I’m actually a little disappointed I’m replacing my current car with a Non-European brand, but I’ll be sure to be back if and when I have another German car that needs service.

I was referred here to replace my brakes. The pricing is fair and much lower than the dealership. Every staff member I encountered was polite and carried themselves like true gentlemen. They even ordered me lunch while I waited for my car service to be completed! I absolutely recommend this mechanic shop to anyone in need of reliable service. Thank you, guys—you are all wonderful!

I got some work done at Auto Engineering this past fall. Shaun, Emil and the rest of the guys at Auto Engineering are extremely friendly, accommodating, and knowledgeable. Yes, they are on the pricier side, but money spent there is well worthwhile. You will not regret it!

Great shop!!! Highly recommended. I will be returning for more work and regular maintenance in 2025. I had the following done in 2024 by this shop: -initial oil change at 3k miles -Side mirror color match and repair from a collision -Installation APR intake -Installation Milltek high-flow downpipe -Installation of APR intercooler -Installation of APR rear sway bar and dogbone mount -Installation of Garrett turbo -APR engine tune -Wheel alignment Work was done promptly, car was washed and cleaned upon return, good price, and great customer service. My car continues to drive very well after all modifications. The workshop is also beautiful. If you like performance German autos, then don't miss out!

First visit / first impression. I’ve recently moved to the area and decided to give these guys some investigation to be by truly trusted advisor for my 22 year old BMW and I couldn’t be happier with the initial appointment. I brought it in for an airbag light and ask them to go over the car thoroughly with a fine tooth comb. Emil was the tech and Was just outstanding both in personality instill in confidence, And seemed honest with the conversation we had. Obviously, the car is old and has a number of issues, but we discussed orders of priorities and potential problems if some items were left alone. He did not try anything but simply “acting as my advisor”. I could not be happier and will get service done. Had to get a quote on a part from BMW directly so I could not book my next service appointment, but it will happen immediately. Finding a good local trusted partner in the maintenance. My car is important and I think I found the winning team.

Rick and the team at AE have been super knowledgeable and helpful during my time with them servicing an '08 Audi R8. I can't think of a better group to have as a resource in the Boston area. Would highly recommend working with them, especially for any tricky problems or higher end vehicles, but I know they do a great job with standard maintenance and your daily driver as well!

Auto engineering is a top notch shop with wonderful employees. I had a clutch install that turned into chasing some gremlins from a previous owner. Throughout the entire process communication was incredible and they were able to help sort out plenty of issues. Shaun was a wonder to work with and was incredibly patient as things progressed. I won't trust another shop in the future!

Set up an appointment with them and had to bail on it, but Auto Engineering already ordered parts for me. They ate the $170 fee for me without question and were very helpful with my questions. Will definitely go here next time I need my car worked on. Updating again after 1.5 years or so, my S3 has been worked on by Auto Engineering 3-4x in that time for oil changes and the larger 40K mile service. Knowing this shop is near by is the reason I feel comfortable owning a used Audi in Boston. The team is awesome and I'm always happy to pay what they charge as it's always more than reasonable. Can't say the same for any dealer I've been to.

Had my first experience with Auto Engineering today. From booking the appointment to having the service done, it was a great experience. Shaun was extremely helpful and professional. All I was having done was a programming of my daughters A4 brake module and when I went to pick it up I noticed it was washed and the interior was vacuumed! Top notch shop, amazing customer service in a timely manner and very reasonable. I highly recommend Auto Engineering.

The best around! Professional, timely, meticulous, folks over at Auto Engineering are seriously the gurus of german vehicles. If your beloved car is requiring some love and care, bring it here. Had them perform a serious laundry list of maintenance to my S3 and not only was it performed in a single day, but they included a loaner and washed/detailed my car without mention. Can't wait for the next time!

Dylan and crew are outstanding mechanics that can perform routine service such as oil change through complex engine replacement and everything in between. If you want total satisfaction and know who your mechanic’s name every time you have your service performed, there are nobody better than Auto Engineering. I can HIGHLY recommend if you are in the Lexington MA area and I know customers travels from long distances to have their cars looked after by them too.

Absolutely an AMAZING SHOP! I brought my 2018 GTI in for a stage 3 clutch. These guys banged it out so fast and perfect! They also did an alignment on my car since I put coil overs in last weekend. Customer service was amazing and everyone I spoke too was super friendly and helpful! I couldn’t recommend this shop any more! It’s the place to go for your Euro needs! I definitely found my shop! It’s also beautiful and super clean with some amazing rides to check out while waiting!

No where else around touches AE… it’s the nicest shop, newest and best equipment, best techs, and they have awesome customer service. It’s nice to have a place where you get what you pay for, especially having dealt with dealerships in the past. The only place I trust in Massachusetts to work on cars. They literally just had my ‘22 911 on the lift the other day with less than 25 miles on it to mount snow tires with the specialty tools required… these are the only guys I would trust. Flawless work on my 992, 991 GT3RS and 981 Cayman S also. Rick, the owner, is a true car guy and Porsche fanatic (even though we know he loves his Audi’s too). I proudly rock their plate frame on my vehicles. 5/5 stars, we’re lucky to have AE around.

Auto Engineering is the number one automotive shop hands down. I own an e46 M3 and they've done my rod bearings, VANOS bulletproofing, control arms, drive shaft after another shop COMPLETELY messed up the center support bearing replacement, the list continues. Done right the first time, no questions asked. Ask for Emil Rhodin, he's their BMW Master Tech there and has been in the business for over a decade. The guys over there are great dudes that really know their ins and outs of Audi's, Porsche's, Volkswagen's and of course BMW's. I love just chatting cars with them as well, they're all enthusiasts, which to me is also really important to consider they're treating my car like their own. So many shops I've gone to before treat my car like it is: not theirs. And I can't stand that. These guys treat my car like I would and that goes a LONG way with me. I can't recommend them enough. 😃👍

Excellent spot for all your BMW, Audi, Porsche, Mercedes, VW, and other euro car brand needs. The staff here is super friendly and they do excellent quality work. Not only are they extremely knowledgeable about the cars they work on, they actually care too! All the staff here are true car enthusiasts and that is reflected by the other non maintenance and repair services they offer such as apr tunes and other performance upgrades. I’ve had nothing but great experiences here and I highly recommended this place!

Got me in same day (within an hour!) for a tune. Even gave good free advice when I noted I was going to do my own brake job this weekend. Didn't try to upsell me on doing the work there. Also heard them tell another customer not to spend money on fixing a minor oil leak as it hadn't gotten worse since the last visit. All around thumbs up. Will definitely bring my car back for future work. Oh, and the two r8s and the built 337 GTI in the waiting room didn't hurt either!
