They give you way less than your supposed to get. They also put things that are aluminum as irony aluminum so they can pay you way less than its worth. I'll never go here again. Multiple times this has happened. I went with a car full where the tires were touching the inner wheel well and they gave me less than $40. This time I brought a bunch of aluminum and things like starters for cars and I got less than $5. They rip you off.
Called on Monday to verify what time they close during the week. I stayed we would be coming down with cars to scrap. I was told they close at 5 pm. I get there at 4:45pm (hello some of us still work a day job) and was informed they won't take anyone after 4:45pm. Then you need to tell people 4:45pm not 5pm. Stop wasting everyone's time with your crap. If it's 5pm it's 5pm.
Brought 360/lbs of aluminum rims. Left with $100. That’s .30/lbs the national scrap price as of April 2024 is .70/lbs that’s a $150 difference. I have a lot of aluminum rims that won’t be going to this scrap yard.
I took an industrial lead battery , the casing is steel and the top is plastic , the owner told me to get educated and attempted to pay .12 a pound . Earlier in the day I was quoted .30 a pound . The owner was so kind to tell me I could take my 2000lbs battery back , he wasn’t expecting that I would . I took it to Kane scrap in Chicopee where they didn’t bat an eye at the plastic on the top that weighs 6 lbs or think about the steel casing …. They paid .24 lbs . Be aware , this guy will take advantage .
Nice people, super easy, fair prices for metal. We had to get rid of an above ground pool. First time there so wasn't sure what to expect. Driving up it was a little intimidating with 18 wheelers all over the place but the office staff couldn't be nicer. Ride up on the scale, get weighed, yard staff shows you where to go, unload, get weighed on the way out of the yard and collect a check. Bing, bang, boom, done!
Excellent place! They removed a truck that was stripped and sitting on jackstands in my driveway. The driver was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable about his job. He was actually early and he worked very safely. I highly recommend Chet's.
Very rude and didn’t pay me for everything I brought in. When I went to cash out they refused to pay for my cans and would not let me get them back. These people are crooks.
Nice people and easy to work with but the price is a bit low national average is 71$ they are at 40$ and i know it's different around the country but 30$ seems to far off.
Personally I'd recommend them to everyone pays top Dollar good salvage yard and always helpful maybe that other review we was stealing copper to buy crack . Ever notice the thieves always think they're getting robbed . Thanks . And best of all they're Ukrainian
I'm quite satisfied with my experience at Chet's. Appointments are scheduled timely and professionally, rates are given over the phone. The gentleman was on time and went above and beyond by removing my plates. I received a check for the agreed upon amount right away. He was knowledgeable about the process. Great people to work with, only scrap yard in the area that wants to work with the little guy. They let me poke around and buy some metal for a project at a great price. I will be going back!
Don't go here unless you want to get ripped off like I did. I argued the price of scrap copper with the owner. He tryed to tell me bare bright was going for 1.50 a lb when I showed him it was going or 2.75 he had nothing m to say. They gave me .20 cents a pound for something I've gotten 1.25 for at other places. Also rude! Beware
Do not use these guys for metal recycling. To start the kid wouldn't 0 the scale for me so everything started 5 pounds light. Then tried telling me that stripped copper wire is number one and not bare bright. Complete crooks at that place
