By utilizing a network of affiliates, we can expand our service area to include virtually all of the Eastern part of the United States. We receive all materials at our Springfield, Massachusetts facility, or we can provide containers, cranes, trucks, and trailers to collect and transport your materials to our recycling plant. Acme Metals & Recycling also handles paper and plastic recycling.

For the everyman, that isn't using a scrap yard on a daily basis, you may immediately feel a place of this nature would be staffed by gruff laborers not very well versed in the ways of customer service or even the polite handling of what they perceive as obvious questions. That is absolutely not the case with ACME. Carol and Eddie specifically are kind hearted and warm in their helping you drop, sort, and overall understand their processes. If you are a homeowner looking to recycle metals, don't be intimidated. These are professionals and wonderful people all at once. I will certainly be using ACME in the future and spreading the good word!
First time customer based on a referral. Got there at 2:30pm. Rainy day. Had the place to myself. No line. Parked and went into the office. Met up with Carol who was great to work with. She worked hand in hand with me sorting through my mixed SUV size load of metals for recycling. She knows her stuff, very efficient, very friendly, never rushed me. Honestly kinda fun to work alongside. Told me she's been there 14 years. It's a no-frills atmosphere. Signage isn't the best once you get onto Napier Street, it's an industrial area, but just follow the road to the end and the entrance is on your left. Coming from West Springfield via 291 it's super easy to get to via Exit 3 / Armory St. I left with way more $$ than I thought I'd get. Would I go back? Yes...absolutely.
I have been going to this scrap yard for years now. Even if a year goes by and I just happen to pile up some scrap, the ladies in the office are very polite and nice to me and the owner who is sometimes there is nice as well. I always go there because I feel comfortable when I drive through.
First time there and quite disappointed. Very disorganized place, difficult to move your vehicle around in, most rutted scrap yard I've ever been to. It took way too long to get weighed, lines forming sometimes blocking the way out, and a very narrow one vehicle space to get to the aluminum area. I usually go to Kane's. I won't be going back to Acme any time soon. It just takes too long to get in and out, and with prices so low the way they are, better to go to a place that has updated their office practices and moves more efficiently.
