Work was to replace transfer case on 2013 Jeep. When ready for pickup I was told Jeep had an oil leak. I had no leaks & no oil spots on my paver driveway before the work. I think an incompetent mechanic put leverage on the drive train causing the rear motor seal to leak. No ownership by shop & but destroyed value of my Jeep. Spots in pic came after I took the Jeep home.

These fine gentlemen, did not miss anything that was out of place on the vehicle. I had just purchased. They were pleasant, professional, they were knowledgeable. I highly recommend to anyone considering purchasing a service there if you want decent service, give them a call

The guys here are great. No nonsense, accurate quotes, reasonably priced; done when and as promised. I used them for two big jobs and will be going back next time I need anything. Highly recommend this shop!

Had springs and shocks replaced on all four corners of my 2013 Lincoln MKS, all genuine Ford parts, no cheap knockoffs. They being busy, were upfront with telling me it may be more than a day in completion of the job but with the loaner they offered, it was no problem. Not my first time with this company, won’t be the last. Highly recommended.

Great communication from the start! Their excellent reviews brought me to them; their excellent quality service is what will bring me back! I asked for an assessment of my rear brakes. They affirmed the need for replacement and then carefully checked to determine whether anything could be ‘saved’. They checked out the rest of the undercarriage and noted a few places where there would be future needs - BUT there was no high pressure sales. They provided a loner car; completed the repair the next day; and sent me away as a VERY SATISFIED customer. I highly recommend their work, their excellent customer service, and their honest pricing.

This business is well run. All the guys work well together. You're always in the loop, and help you and them to make a workable plan to fit your needs. I've had power steering issues , and brake issues. I never have much money, so the fact that they take that into consideration is tops with me! They won't do unessessary work, yet they won't let you drive away if your car isn't road worthy. They care about people and are very patient with them Thanks to Anthony, Will, and I believe, Brian. Anthony just repaired our Jeep grand Cherokee. We needed a transmission cooler/ a/c condenser. Nice guy, neat shop and very good work. He was $1,000. Less that the local Jeep dealer. Highly recommend, plus he has a great personality.

This shop came up several times while searching for a reliable & honest shop to work on my Taurus SHO. After several consultations with friends working in small 1 bay repair shops, I decided to go speak with Essex County Auto Repair about the problems I was having. They seemed knowledgeable and able to work on this very involved repair. The service was exceptional, highlighting the mechanic's honesty, thoroughness, and ability to explain repairs clearly, making me feel confident in the work done on my vehicle. At the time of this review the repairs have been done since January 14, 2025 and I am extremely happy with the repair work done.

I called as I had the time that day to get the oil changed and do not like to have this done at one of the many franchises with a bunch of kids who just started shaving and not seemingly thrilled about the job at hand. I recently moved to the Peabody area and received what seemed to be an inflated quote from my local car dealership for work on my front brakes. As a woman with limited knowledge, I wanted to be sure not to overpay, so I called a few places and East Coast Auto Repair offered to check my car out the next morning, which worked great for me. (I was right about the high quote from the dealership by almost $400.) I asked the person who greeted me at the shop if they had time to complete a thorough check of the car while they had it for my brakes and they did. When completed, their review included the work on the brakes and only the usual maintenance type things with no pressure for any additional, or possible unnecessary work. In fact, they appreciated my need to control my expenses and made suggestions on how I could get the most out of my car. The people working there were polite, knowledgeable and honest. They deserve their high ratings and I am happy to be able to have found this exceptional auto repair shop close to my new home. I highly recommend them.

Took my Corvette to Herb Chambers 3 times for the engine misfiring..After the 3rd visit they told me it was the transmission and to take it to a transmission mechanic in Wakefield. Within 1 hr the transmission place told me it was fine. Took it to essex County auto repair. They did a tune up in one day. Car runs like new and they did it at a excellent price. The dealership should be embarrassed,they couldn't fix the car. They had it for 3 weeks.. can't say enough about essex, thank u for fixing my car.

It was a pleasure having these guys work on my 2011 Escalade. At the time, I was tight on money and wouldn't you believe it; they offered a payment plan that worked for me. They even offer an auto credit program that can give you the loan to get the repairs done. They will inform you every step of what needs to be repaired or if you want to hold off for whatever reason. I do recommend Essex County Auto Repair to everyone!!

I happened to be around the corner when my tires light came on. I pulled up this shop and the reviews were great. I called over and the owner said they had a bay open. In and out in 15 minutes. They fixed the flat. Highly recommend.

Great and friendly people over here at Essex County Auto! One of our work truck tires picked up a row of finish nails, and they got it patched up for us to get us by so we could get the truck to our mainship location up in Maine. I will highly recommend this place to anyone in the area!

I chose a Essex County because of their excellent ratings online. I needed a complete clutch and flywheel replacement for a 30+ year old Jeep Wrangler that is my pride and joy. The price was reasonable considering the magnitude of the job but I was pleasantly surprised that they only quoted me for OEM parts (no cheap aftermarket parts) and the turn around time was only 3 days right before Christmas. When I asked for an additional preventative repair to be made while the clutch was out they were very quick with a very reasonable quote for the additional work. I did ask for an additional quote on an unrelated issue I was having that I decided to out off due to the overall price of the job (again, days before Christmas) the shop was totally understanding and put no pressure on me to get the work done and said they would save the quote for when I come back in a few months to replace the fuel pump in the spring. Can’t recommend these guys enough.

Essex County Auto Repair always does a great job fixing my car. They are so easy to work with, great communication, scheduling, and try to get the most cost effective options. Even in emergency situations they have always squeezed me in. I don't know any other local garages that give out loaner cars either! Highly recommend

The report offers car owners a great understanding of their car's health and future maintenance considerations. As mechanics they're excellent. My old mechanic was a great guy, but he kept the car for days and sometimes issues weren't entirely fixed. You'll be satisfied by Essex County's quality service.

Initially went for exhaust, brakes/rotor replacement. Owner preformed a thorough inspection of my vehicle. Emailed pictures and cost assessment of each repair. We then communicated by phone about priority of repairs. The owner was very knowledgeable, respectful and willing to work with me on a repair plan. There were a number of other repairs that could wait until it was financially feasible, including tire replacement and front end alignment. Overall very happy with my experience and thrilled to have found a mechanic i can trust.
